Neighbourhoods

Ranelagh is a much sought after neighbourhood in south Dublin. It has some wonderful restaurants, cafes and pubs that cater for all tastes. Below are some of our favourites. PUBS You can’t go wrong with Smyths, Birchalls, or The Hill Pub. All great places for a pint. There are lots more too explore too. RESTAURANTS For a steak, The Butchers Grill is expensive but very tasty. Host is a wonderful restaurant, but hard to get a reservation. Book early. Cinnamon is a good spot for breakfast or brunch. Some great scones. TriBeCa is a must for the chicken wings. Bunsen does the best burgers in Dublin. Zaytoon does a mean Persian kebab. Fancy an ice cream? Scoop is a kids and adults favourite. There are lots more, but these are our local favourites. CAFE’S After a short walk you will spot many places to grab a coffee. You won’t go wrong with any of them. Have a sit outside Butler’s and watch the world go by. Or grab a takeaway from Nicks and stroll around Ranelagh Gardens’ pond. PARKS There are 3 main parks we go to a lot. Ranelagh Gardens is close to the village and has a lovely pond and a playground for the smaller kids. Belgrave Square is a short walk toward Rathmines and is nearest to our home. It has plenty of space, nice trees, and a playground. Dartmouth Square is a popular spot on sunny days and for dog walking in the mornings. GETTING AROUND Ranelagh has a LUAS tram stop which makes it easy to get into the city centre in minutes.

Murphy’s is a good gastropub that serves good food too. Lots of other options to explore too. PARKS The nearest park is Belgrave Square, a 3 min walk away.
