Good Pho! And close by on 6th Ave. It gets pretty roudy at night - directly next to a marijuana dispensery. My children's favorite is Pho King (yes.. they love to pronounce it, of course) on MLK Jr. Parkway but this may not be the safest area to walk at night.

An absolute must visit! Paradise is the closest high elevation spot on the mountain. It is about 60 min to the base of the mountain and another 45 up to Paradise. Plan a bathroom and stretch break in Ashford. We enjoy stopping in at Whittaker Mountaineering on the way too - cute, well-stocked hiking and gift store and outdoor restaurant. Ice cream spot is close by too.

Iconic Pacific Northwest beach! Many of them on the Olympic Penninsula are just gorgeous. Plan for cold winds and possible showers but that only adds to the atmosphere. Swimming is not recommended at most beaches on the Pacific with the exceptions of those closer to Ocean Shores. The waves are very strong and their are logs rolling in the waves. You know something is up when the local signs say, "Caution! Logs kill!" or something to that effect. Yikes! BUT it is still beautiful and you will want to wander a while.

A great Tacoma classic - we are known for Glassblowing.. even in the middle schools in town! Dale Chihuly was from Tacoma. Great hotshop, giftshop and exhibits and hands-on activities. Right by some amazing waterfront restaurants with decks as well.
