A 45-50 minute drive from Falmouth, alternatively get to Helford Passage (20 minute drive) & take the tiny little ferry across! Superb food & jazz most sunday lunchtimes. Food serves from 12:30.

For the best best BEST pasty (if you're a meat eater), make sure to get here for 12 noon & ask for a "flakey steak" pasty. Their other baked goods are excellent too, and Porthleven is interesting.

Ohhh the breakfasts! I always go for the smoked salmon / avacado / scrambled egg option, but they also do meaty & veggie... and the coffee is gooood! Super chilled atmosphere.

Sightseeing

A pretty little village, just a £2.50 ferry ride away. Ask me for a map and there is an easy little (few miles, maybe 3) walk round the headland to Mylor & back.

A good stroll, great views down to the docks, across to Flushing, St Mawes, out to sea to see the tankers, then round to Gylly beach. Plus the bonus of an icecream van or two.

Park in the National Trust carpark just up the road from Durgan village (well worth a visit), then walk along the coast path towards the sea. One the beaches along here is my favourite!

A tiny hidden beach with interesting round boulders, walk the SW coast path along to Cape Cornwall which is perhaps not the most westerly point of England, but a far superior one!

From the main road head toward the coast to view Botallack mine. Some of the most interesting pieces of old Cornwall, and used for filming in the recent "Poldark".

I would say this is the most beautiful drive in Cornwall! Best done from St Just to St Ives, get to St Just from Penzance. Plenty of places to stop off and gape in awe. Ancient Cornwall.

This is the one you can see from parts of Falmouth. Take the ferry to St Mawes, then across to St Anthony, or drive round (taking the King Harry car ferry near Trelissick shortens the trip). Views!

Perhaps not the cheapest of gardens, but totally worth it. Sometimes they hold "Rogue Theatre" events at night, definitely try to get to this!

Very agreeable (unless you're terrible at walking up / down hills) village. Home to the now seemingly famous "Fishermans Friends" sea shanty group, who practise regularly on the cove there.

St Ives in general is a beautiful place to visit (though exceedingly busy in summer months), and the Barbara Hepworth museum - her actual home until she died - is a nice little escape from the busy.

An insanely interesting and in depth museum, at first it all seems rather tacky but the further you go the more intruiging it gets. Cornwall is very deep in witchcraft & tradition.
