Coffee Shops

High quality coffee in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. Not a lot of sitting room, so more for the grab-and-go crowd. Traditional espresso drinks - not in the sugary, Starbucks style.

Food scene

Local, farm-to-table restaurant just up the street from the apartment. Menu changes seasonally. Would recommend getting a reservation ahead of time.

Best sushi in Salt Lake City. Restaurant doesn't do reservations and there is often a significant wait to get in. Would recommend getting there 15+ minutes before open and waiting in line. Ask the staff about their favorite off-menu rolls. If you don't want to wait, go to Sapa instead.

#2 sushi place in Salt Lake City. Sapa does allow for reservations and call-ahead, so significantly more accessible than Takashi. The Volcano rolls comes out on fire - if you want to order something that surprises the table.

French patisserie. Walkable from the apartment. My go-to brunch place near downtown in addition to THE place to satisfy late night dessert cravings.

Really great brunch spot. Staple in the SLC food scene. Warning: parking is usually tricky here and there is always a wait.

Sightseeing

Fun park that is within walking distance of the apartment. Cool little historical monuments to look at. Can continue up the park and hike up City Creek Canyon. There is an off-lease dog area within the park, so be warned if you are afraid of dogs (or the opposite if you want to see cute puppers).
