When you arrive to Paris, make sure to subscribe to a weekly "Navigo Pass". If you want to move a lot in the city or outside, the pass will save you a lot of money. Metro Tickets can be very expensive and don't offer access to all transportations.

The tricky thing about Paris is that you walk a way lot more that you think you'll do because it is so nice that you don't feel it. Therefore, I strongly advice you to bring confortable shoes.
Also, if you are visiting on summertime, make sure you have a jacket and an umbrella just in case. Weather changes a lot in Paris.
