If you go to Port Stanley, you can stop at St. Thomas for a quick visit to the farmers market on Saturdays. Manitoba Street, 1/2 block north of Talbot Street St. Thomas, Ontario Widely known as the “Railway Capital of Canada”, St. Thomas was founded in 1881 and was the location of several important railways in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It served as the primary stop on the Canadian shortcut between Detroit and Buffalo.
