Downhill mountain biking
The season is mid-June to mid-September and there are spectacular runs right down the mountains. There are specialist shops for hiring the equipment and sorting out lifts up the mountain. http://sauzedoulx.net/summer/mountain-biking/

Last lift missed on the Via Lattea !!
The lift next to Soleil Boeuf near San Sicario is key to get back across from San Sicario and the way back on the Via Lattea but it closes pretty early, maybe 3:30 (do check !!). If you miss it the solution is to go back down to the bubble car from San Sicario down to Cesana. Take that down and turn right to walk into Cesana centre. There is a bus from the back to Oulx station - one per hour. From Oulx station there is a local bus up to Sauze but it will be a good walk from the bus to the apartment. I’ve had to do this more than once ! It’s not expensive, just time consuming

Mountain Bike hire / protective equipment
There are three shops at the Piazza Assietta that do MTB hire. We have taken bikes there but found that while they offered helmets they didn't have other protective equipment at least at the shop we went to. So if downhill mountain biking is your thing in the bike park, it's good to bring your own protective pads and gloves
