Best way to get the most out of them.
Initially conceived to be a garden city for Barcelona’s wealthy families, the plan was aborted in 1914. Nowadays, the park holds a magic air that comes from Gaudi's personal tallent and creativity. From November to March, Park Guell is open between 08:30 AM - 06:30 AM. From April to October, it is open between 08:00 AM - 07:30 PM. A good tip to avoid crowds of tourists is to go during the night. You'll find yourself nearly alone with the park to freely explore.

Amazing art noveau park at Horta. It is not super big, but it surely compensates with the iconic Labyrinth kids love to play at. Futhermore, there are a lot of benches to sit and places to make a picnic. Enjoy a good afternoon surrounded by a chill vibe of green and birds. Best part? Not full of tourists!

Barrios

Outside the busiest part of the city, but still very central, Gràcia has managed to keep it local and not lose it's old catalan charm. With its narrow streets and leafy squares, Gracia has a village feel, and it was, in fact, an independent town until it was swallowed by the city in the late 1800s. With a lot of restaurants at affordable prices, veggie and vegan options, all walkable, safe and creative, Gràcia is the perfect neighbourhood to experiece Barcelona in a different and more local way.

It still has the small-town air from the 19th century: little streets and squares built around the high street, Carrer Major, narrow pavements on streets where neighbours greet one another as they pass by. Thanks to the craftsmen and middle classes who built their summer houses here, Sarrià became one of the most prosperous parts of Barcelona. The architecture reflects this splendour through the houses, many of them Modernista constructions, that can be found around the streets, specially on Passatge Mallofré or in Plaça Sant Vicenç.
