Elmer's is a cafe and restaurant with some of the best brunch in the area. I don't recommend it highly for dinner if you have high standards, though the environment truly makes up for any lack in service.

Less than 2 miles away, Windsor Jambs is a true gem of a spot, home to cascading waterfalls and beauty galore. I've traveled in many parts of the world and the beauty and cleanliness of these waters are at the top of the list. As with all the places around here, please be respectful. Do not leave trash or leave your mark. Thank you.

Picturesque swimming. It's a public beach but it's hardly ever crowded. Also has an area for small boats.

Open nearly everyday of the year until 4pm, the Smith Botanic gardens are not to be missed if you are planning an adventure in NoHo. Take an hour to walk the trails by the Smith pond and river and another hour to explore the many greenhouses. A personal favorite.

It's hard to describe Earthdance, however it is the primary reason that I moved to Plainfield. Earthdance is an artist-run workshop, residency, and retreat center focused around improvisational dance and social action. There are often ongoing programs and workshops along with solo-residencies. Check out: www.Earthdance.net

"Books you don't need in a place you can't find." Their tagline says it perfectly. The Bookmill is a great place to spend an hour or an entire day. Delicious local food and a beautiful view to match. A perfect day includes brunch at the Bookmill, visit to the Peace Pagoda and then a stop through NoHo or swimming at the pond on the way back to the house.
