A skybridge connecting several downtown buildings, including a busy shopping mall. But instead of a simple corridor, there's an arching glass ceiling, plants, a performance stage and art installations. Seating is available and the environment encourages one to linger or just take a short break from a busy day.

The #1 ranked place to visit on Tripadvisor. Most children’s museums lean heavy on the indoor playground approach, but Indianapolis offers playground touches drenched with real history, toy history, science and art

Beautiful quiet walk along a canal. You pass by a few museums but overall atmosphere is calm & serene. Plenty of places to rest or maybe sit & read a nice book. You can rent bikes, paddle boats and even take a gondola ride.

Indianapolis Museum of Art has lots of changing exhibits so it is always different throughout the year. The gardens are excellent any time of year. Have traveled the world visiting art museums and this is a gem in Indy!

One of the best rail to trail projects anywhere with a beautiful canopy. The portion in Carmel is particularly nice because it dissects the downtown, several parks and the arts and design district.

If you like any auto racing, you must visit Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. The cars, from decades ago and the new stuff are mind boggling. We are talking over a 100 years. Also, when available, they have great tours!!

Food scene

As Farmer's Markets go, this is a pretty good one. Not too big and a good selection of vegetables, fruits, canned or bottled goods (i.e. honey or maple syrup), baked goods (Circle City Sweets has outrageous raspberry bars!!!), homemade pastas, salsas, and vendors who are cooking breakfast or lunch type foods. There something for everyone here (that is for anyone who likes Farmers Markets).

This place hits all the right marks, from the atmosphere(totally steak, all the time!) to the decor (dark, busy, like all steakhouses should be!) to the food(perfect!). It is close to the Canterbury Hotel, another icon in downtown Indianapolis, and so is easy to find. If you are in Indianapolis I consider this a must to go restaurant--in fact on a relatively recent trip to Madrid, a restaurant claiming to be the oldest restaurant in the world had a list of the ten greatest restaurants globally, and St. Elmo's was on it.

Named after a novel of Indianapolis’ own Kurt Vonnegut this gem features hand made care in all they do. In house made or locally sourced each appetizer or entree was thoughtful, inventive and delicious.

Oh man, this place is great!! Tons of parking, lots of seating inside and outside. So many beers to choose from, at least 20. If you’re hungry, get the muffuletta...it’s huge and can be split between 2 easily.
