Great little local pub. No food but guaranteed a friendly welcome. Just turn right out the house and it's a couple of minutes down the road on the right.

Local institution! Great selection of beers (best place for English ales and ciders) and always something going on (music, theatre, comedy). Super friendly.. even let you bring your takeaway in :)

Nature reserve around the Lea river... closest you'll get in London to real countryside! Turn right out of the house and walk out of the city! Past the water works, admiring the bird life as you pass the reservoir. When you get to the bridge you've got a choice of left or straight on... Go and get lost or ask me for a route :)

Quick route (10 mins): turn left out the house then left on the main road. Station at end of road on the left. (Can also get the bus from Hazlewood Road stop but usually quicker to walk.) Quiet route (12 mins): right out the house, right onto Edward Road; walk to the end, following round to the right; left at the main road et voila!
