This is a great place to visit on a rainy day (or not!) "Experience brewery-to-table dining as it comes to life in the heart of paradise. Our newest restaurant, opening early 2018, features an open-air interior and family-friendly vibe that celebrates our brewery’s history, passion for the craft beer way of life, and Maui roots. Located in our brewery headquarters, our restaurant continues to build upon our innovative, independent brewer spirit through artisanal, simply prepared, island-inspired cuisine. Our bar features 36 craft and specialty beers on tap, including Maui Brewing year-round and special releases and craft beers from other small breweries." https://www.mbcrestaurants.com

"Big Beach" ~ South Maui's largest beach "South of Wailea, roughly a 50-minute drive from Lahaina Open Daily from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Maui's southwestern shores are home to many extraordinary beaches, including Makena Beach, also known as "Big Beach" and considered one of the island's best. This is one of the largest beaches on Maui, with 1.5 miles of golden sand stretching as wide as 100 feet in places. Visitors can swim or snorkel in the pristine water, picnic in the shade or simply sunbathe on the seemingly endless expanse of sand."

"Located on the mid-slopes of Maui’s Haleakala volcano, Makawao has one foot in its plantation past and another in its thriving arts community. This charming town was once named one of the top 25 arts destinations in the United States. Makawao is the biggest little town in the region locally known as Upcountry Maui and is famous for its Hawaiian cowboys, or paniolo. Since the late 19th century, horseback-riding paniolo have wrangled cattle in Maui’s wide-open upland fields. The Makawao Rodeo, held yearly on the Fourth of July, is Hawaii's largest paniolo competition and has been an Upcountry tradition for more than 50 years. The weekend events include a parade and traditional rodeo competitions such as barrel racing, calf roping and bareback bronco riding, all with a few Hawaiian twists. For a snack, follow the locals to get a famous cream puff from T. Komoda Store. Established in 1916 by Takezo Komoda, a Japanese plantation worker, this little store and bakery does big business. Lines can be long in the morning when everything’s fresh, so come early. The bakery is closed on Wednesdays and Sundays. You can also spend the afternoon meandering through the eclectic shops, boutiques and art galleries. It’s a town of working artists, where you can watch glassblowers, wood sculptors and painters as they fulfill your order. Makawao is also home to the Hui Noeau Visual Arts Center, where visitors can take classes and explore free gallery exhibits. The combination of its paniolo heritage and its lively artistic community make Makawao a unique stop on your visit to Maui."

"On the surface, Haiku may seem like any other adorably quaint Maui town, with its open dirt roads occupied by rusted pickup trucks packed with surfboards, and its family-run farms and roadside produce stands. A stone’s throw away from Paia and Hookipa Beach on the north shore, Haiku surprises travelers with more than just its country charm. There’s something magical about Haiku Mill. Maybe it’s the historic European architecture, beautifully adorned with overgrown vines and greenery, or maybe it’s the picture-perfect weddings that occur here on the regular. Whatever it is, visitors can see it for themselves on a dreamy botanical tour of the once-abandoned sugar mill, which houses tropical flora and 55 different species of plant life. Originally a pineapple cannery in the mid-20th century, Pauwela Cannery is now home to a slew of Haiku small businesses: The Baked on Maui café has freshly made breads and delicious cups of joe, and the Pauwela Store is a newly opened grocer that sells healthy, locally grown produce. Also, find new threads at Da Kine Hawaii, and if you’re in need of a new surfboard, you’re in luck as well-known Maui shaper Matt Kinoshita’s shaping bay and showroom are located right beside the cannery. The first major attraction on the Road to Hana, Twin Falls is a pair of waterfalls right on the edge of Haiku. Easy to reach, Twin Falls is a short hike from the road. Simply follow the well-defined path just past the crowded coconut stand; once you reach a fork in the road, head left. After climbing down a short hillside, you’ll be met with two flowing falls."
