A place with space for your family or group of friends to get together to share memories and toast the future. Somewhere that’s homely with touches of luxury and features you just don’t get back home. Ernesettle House is that special place for your special occasion. A detached Grade II listed ex-naval officer’s house, it’s surrounded by plenty of green space, has amazing views and facilities that are ideal for family get-togethers or celebrations with friends. This section is entitled ‘the space’ and there really is plenty of it to talk about. Let’s start in the games room, the place where everyone is likely to want to gather at some point. There’s a bar area in here, so you can all take turns being landlord or landlady and serving up everyone’s favourite tipple. Sports fans will be in their element in here, with a pool table and dartboard. For guests who aren’t into games, or for those who’ve just lost at pool, there’s the quieter lounge area, a place to reflect and relax in front of the television after dinner or with the Sunday papers Speaking of dinner, if you decide against a takeaway and a few of your party have agreed to do the cooking, there’s a large, country-style kitchen fully equipped with everything required to feed everyone. And when the time comes to tuck in, there’s a table that seats 8 right in the centre of the kitchen and a smaller dining table at one end that seats four. As for the bedrooms, there’s six in total, two with ensuites but all with the kind of space and look and feel that wouldn’t look out of place in a plush hotel, such is the high spec finish and care and attention that’s gone into their presentation. If you don’t manage to grab one of the ensuites, don’t worry, the master bathroom is huge and bright, with a freestanding bathtub, and walk-in shower. That’s the inside space, so what about outside? The large front and rear garden feature a paved patio ideal for barbecues, grassy areas for ballgames, plus plenty of quiet places to catch some sun or enjoy some quiet shade. The view you get of the Tamar Bridge is a real highlight. GUEST ACCESS The house and its grounds are all yours for the duration of your stay. Its secluded location means there’s plenty of free parking for all guests. Please note that there is a working farm adjacent to the property which is strictly out of bounds. INTERACTION WITH GUESTS Ernesettle House is the kind of place that helps make special occasions even more memorable. And your hosts are determined to ensure your stay here does exactly that. THE NEIGHBOURHOOD Ernesettle House enjoys a fairly secluded location that’s just a couple of minutes drive from the A38, the road that runs through Devon and Cornwall. Because there aren’t any other homes close by, it makes the property an ideal place for a family celebration or a friends’ reunion. GETTING AROUND It’s entirely possible that you won’t want or need to leave Ernesettle House during your stay, except perhaps to pop out and stock up on food and drink. But should you be planning to take in some of the sights, then Plymouth Hoe and the City Centre are both less than 15 minutes away by car. HOUSE RULES Please, no smoking inside the house. As mentioned earlier, the location of this detached house makes it ideal for parties. But please have respect for the property and its contents, and ensure the celebrations finish at a decent time and any mess is tidied up afterwards. As a family friendly venue. Ernesettle House welcomes children. You can bring your pets too, although please clear up after them and don’t let them into the house with muddy paws or onto the beds or sofas. We are a friendly, welcoming country house in one Dartmoor's most popular locations. We look forward to offering you a very comfortable stay and friendly, warm welcome within the private accommodation. We hope you'll find soaking and bubbling in our new high end luxury Hotsprings hydrotherapy hot tub - pretty special after a day of exploring. (On the odd occasion use of the hot tub maybe delayed slightly on your arriving day due to a warm refill and reheat or extended clean-we aim to have it functional on these rare occasions by the evening) it’s extremely rare that a slight delay occurs. The hot tub is for your groups soul use, it is not shared. We ask that the hot tub cover is always opened and closed by two people. This is lovely, spacious, cosy accomodation; there are two bedrooms and it's located within a private garden level of a large and historic country house (we can add extra children's beds after discussion if required), we've an amazing outdoor private hot tub- with beautiful sky's and Dartmoor air, it's really something to bubble the night away. We have wifi Internet and there's a flat screen TV with Freeview, a fully fitted kitchen with all the appliances you'd expected. The self contained Garden Rooms offers all the expected facilities and more including A Tassimo coffee machine. There's a large shower / wet room and separate toilet. There's a large private natural stone patio, and huge tiered decked seating area for outdoor entertaining & relaxing. The Garden Rooms are lit by an array of sumptuous gentle warm lamps adding very cosy and welcoming feel to what is the beautiful, airy, contemporary and spacious Garden Rooms. The house dates to approximately 1850 and is steeped in published history. We're only a 2 minute walk from open moorland and a 5 min walk from great local country pubs; it's only a 10 minute drive to Tavistock or the River Dart. There's a local post office, cafes and two country pubs in walking distance. We are also a very close walk to The National Park Moorland Visitors Centre. The main floors of the house are separate and our small family do live in the upper house, our Garden Rooms are on the lower ground floor of the main property and private to our guests; we offer the option for well behaved dog guests at a small extra charge (£10.00 per night per dog, we just ask dogs are not left alone at any point ( there are many many dog friendly pubs and some great restaurants too - we can send you an ideas list with this included information), we ask dogs do not climb or rest on soft furnishings and that they are cleaned up afterwards of course), this can be paid on arrival. Of course children are very, very welcome. We have safe key code access available if required, we offer full facilities for couples, familes or small groups of friends looking for some time out in a great location. We are only approximately 6.5 miles from Tavistock - and low cost Taxi fares are available if you fancy a night out with no driving; we'd be happy to assist you in booking a great local relaxed restaurant, or giving you some unique pointers of places to eat, drink or visit-so there's no need to miss out on finding great places. The area is fantastic for relaxing, and exploring the beautiful local villages and the local town of Tavistock. For the more energetic it's a fabulous location for biking (local bike hire's available), riding (local riding centres), climbing (The Barn), hiking, canoeing and kayaking (we can also assist you in booking great kayaking too with a family kayak business), fishing, photography and more... The Dartmoor scenery is hugely varied and really spectacular. There are lots of tantalising 'foodie venues', close by; plus markets and lovely shops in and around Dartmoors local villages and Towns. Dartmoor's a fantastic location to equally enjoy easy day trips to a wealth of north or south coast villages, beaches and river valleys (in Devon and Cornwall). We wish you an easy and relaxing homely stay. We don’t have outdoor lighting, although the hot tub has its own great underwater lighting and the patio doors allow light from the lounge to shine outside near the hot tub. Some guests bring a torch if they are arriving or departing The Garden Rooms in the dark - we recommend you bring a torch for dark nights. The Garden Rooms has some internal stairs, and also a couple of steps accessing The Garden Rooms and the private patio and deck area. Please be aware wet surfaces Inside and out can be slippy of course, and ensure you and your party are in good health to use our hot tub, there's also an wildlife pond. Babies. If you require a cot or high chair please give us a weeks notice to ensure this is available. Please bring your own cot mattress and your preferred baby sheets. Princetown is an historic working village located in the heart of one of England's finest and most famous national parks. The village and immediate area are famous for many reasons including Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's 'Hound of the Baskervilles', and the filiming of Steven Spielberg's film 'War Horse'; as well as incredible and very unique and varied landscapes: tors, high moor, river valleys, forest, Bronze Age settlements and amazing hiking and biking tracks . Chaplains House's Garden Rooms offer lovely and very well furnished spacious and cosy accomodation, and is only minutes from open, expansive beautiful national park. This is an eclectic mix of contemporary style and historic elegance, it's homely and a very relaxing. Safely socialise in the comfort of a lovely home.
A large 5 bedroom house in the quiet and tranquil South West . Sat by the River Plym and placed in Plym bridge woods . We have two living areas to use, Both TVs in the living areas have full sky and smart applications. a toilet downstairs to use. The granite kitchen , with genuine Versace mosaic includes a large smart TV and a huge island, which joins up nicely to the dining area. We have a large 5 ring range cooker, with double oven. We also have an extensive range of appliances, fat frier, coffee machines, washing machine, tumble drier , water dispensing fridge and three light up drinks fridges. There are two ensuite bedrooms upstairs with a further family bathroom for the other 3 rooms . The whole house is surrounded by its own garden and woodland which attracts lots of wildlife, you will wake up to the sound of birds in the morning and more then likely spot some deer, badgers or foxes. There’s is a large decked area around the back of the house with a built in outdoor hot tub , and a bbq ., Each bedroom consists of at least a double bed , there are 2 king size beds and a super king also. One of the rooms also has a spare mattress and another room is set up as a double room with 2 double beds . The living areas downstairs has very large sofas which can easily be comfortably slept on , and we also have some air beds and an air pump if you have extra guests too .
The estate is set in Plymbridge woods and is in walking distance to some lovely river walks and bike trails. There is also at the weekends a steam train that goes through the valley. There are plenty of beaches within driving distance such as Wembury Bay and Bovisand bay. Plymouth hosts lots of activities such as Paddle boarding , canoeing , sailing and many more water based activities. The royal William yard is a must go if you like a cocktail with a view by the sea , plus there is a wine tasting bar, and a food market every 1st Sunday of the month. Saltrum House is a lovely estate to walk around and is only 2 miles away Plymouth Hoe and the barbican is a 5-6 mile drive away. Dartmoor National Park is 7 miles away , very good for hiking, horse riding, trekking , dog walking . Drake Circus mall is 5 miles with many places to eat all around , including an Imax cinema and many eateries .

The cottage is situated in a quiet location in the market town of Tavistock, but it is walking distance to the town square. It's only two miles to Dartmoor National Park, which you can see from our garden. A Victorian miners' cottage, part of the Tamar Valley World Heritage Site, it is cosy and refurbished to a high standard. It is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and pets. One of our guests summed it up: 'The cottage is an absolute jewel'
The Cottage is spacious and has been renovated recently, the latest addition being a wood burning stove in the front room. There is sitting room, kitchen and dining room, two double bedrooms and another with bunkbeds. There is also a sofa bed available for two more. It can sleep eight people. We also have a travel cot for babies. There is a stair gate at the bottom of the stairs. There are two toilets, one upstairs and one downstairs, a bath and a separate walk in shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with a washing machine and a dishwasher. Pets are welcome. The garden is free for you to use and we are a short walk from the town, local park, swimming pool and arts centre, with cinema. There is free internet and a smart tv. Also available are board games, books, DVDs, piano and guitar.
Fitzford Cottages are unique. We are part of the Tamar Valley World Heritage site. The Victorian miners cottage was built in 1862 as ideal housing for the Duke of Bedford's mines. We are situated in the town but in a quiet location. It is peaceful and secluded whilst being walking distance from the attractions of the town. Tavistock is an award winning market town with independent shops, an indoor pannier market and a choice of superb restaurants, pubs and tearooms.

The house is a small cosy 1 bedroom cottage in the centre of the village of Horrabridge in Devon. There is one double bedroom and an additional single bed in the sitting room. It has been recently refurbished and all the plumbing and electrics are new, it has gas central heating, double glazing and Wi-Fi. There is a garden across the road and a secure shed for bikes etc. There is unrestricted on street parking in the area and usually you can park close by.
The kitchen is well equipped and there is a micro wave oven. Please note the stairs are open on one side, they are relatively steep and narrow but there is a handrail on one side.
Horrabridge is a picturesque village with the River Walkham running through it. The village is situated on the edge of Dartmoor, it is about 10 miles from Plymouth and 4 miles from Tavistock. Very close to the house is the London Inn pub, a bakery that makes great bread, a convenience store and an award winning fish and chip shop. The Leaping Salmon pub has re-opened in August 2018 and is now a cafe and bar/restaurant. The village is ideal for walking or cycling on Dartmoor or exploring the Tamar Valley. There are also cycle tracks nearby to Plymouth and Tavistock and a little further away the Tamar Trails with 25km of off-road paths. Tavistock is a historic market town with numerous shops, banks, cafes, pubs and a famous Pannier Market. Plymouth is a large city with a long maritime history, attractions include the historic Barbican district, The Hoe, Smeatons Tower and the National Marine Aquarium.

Open moorland is less than a mile away. Beautiful walking area across the moor. Excellent pub, The Royal Oak at Meavy which can be reached in 2 minutes by car or 20 minutes of foot along a footpath. Dogs are welcome with a small charge depending on number and size.

Set on the outskirts of the beautiful moorland hamlet Clearbrook this property has easy access to the City of Plymouth as well all the benefits of Dartmoor National Park. Clearbrook is a small but close community at the heart of which sits the community pub, The Skylark Inn which offers great food at excellent value. Woodway itself is set within almost four acres of private woodland and has recently undergone a full refurbishment. The property has two double bedrooms, one of which can be used as a double or twin, double velux windows overlooking the grounds and Dartmoor beyond. Separating these rooms is a bathroom, fitted with an over the bath shower and large oval bath. Downstairs is an open plan set-up, which includes a large u-shaped kitchen with full amenities, this leads onto the dining area and into a spacious open plan lounge with another large flat screen TV (Netflix included). In addition there is conservatory extension which has a traditional log burner, two sofa beds and beautiful views over the grounds. Furthermore there is a utility area a separate shower and toilet offering the perfect opportunity to clean off after a hike across the moors. As we welcome dog owners to Woodway there is an external area, with water hose, that can be used to clean them off and would only ask that their mess is cleaned up. At the front of the property is 6-8 person wood-fired hot tub which will release all the aches and pains accumulated during the day. This property is unique, even for Dartmoor offering the opportunity for a relaxing family break or indeed a more adventurous holiday. This property is new to the holiday letting market with somebody only a short distance away to deal with any issues that may arise. My house is a 5 minute drive to the beautiful moors and just a short drive or bus ride to either the outstanding South Hams or the beach filled beauty of Cornwall. My home is relaxed and comfortable and if there are any requirement's that you need just ask and I will do all I can to meet your requests. There is a driveway at the house but space is limited, however there is plenty of on street parking. supermarkets are close by.
The Kitchen is provided for your use and tea and coffee is available at all times.
Close to Derriford Hospital. Close to the Moors and a delightful coffee shop that serves amazing drinks. Easy to get to the town centre and a good bus route runs regular.

There are lovely benches in the park for eating fish and chips ("The Chippie" is opposite), and the friendly village pub has a great reputation and very good food. Delicious fresh bread and cakes are available next door from the bakers.
Friendly family victorian home with a cat and 2 very friendly well behaved dogs. Lots of welly boots in the hallway. Relaxed and welcoming. In the titles of the BBC1 much loved children's series Bagpuss, the main street is featured - showing how the village looked in 1903, and the space where the house was to be built 2 years later in 1905.

The stable cottage is a beautiful one bedroom self catering apartment within the former coach house of the Victorian vicarage. Opulent bedding, cosy log burner, gardens, stones throw from Horrabridge. Guests enjoy total privacy overlooking the surrounding countryside. Horrabridge is within Dartmoor National Park, spectacular for walking and cycling . Dogs and children are welcome.
The large bedroom (4.7m x 4.4m) offers ample space with a king size bed with luxury bedding set under a vaulted ceiling. Exposed stone work and original timbers add to the experience of staying. The ensuite provides a large walk-in shower. Double doors leads to the living area where a kitchenette includes everything you need for a comfortable stay. A gas oven and hob, fridge, toaster, kettle, washing machine and dishwasher. Plenty of utilities to self cater. There is a table and chairs for two, as well as a comfy sofa and log burner for those cold winter nights. A smart TV allows guests to watch their usual channels plus Netflix, BBC iplayer,and other catchup services. WiFi throughout the cottage. On arrival there’s a complimentary bottle of wine, some local biscuits, milk, juice, tea, fresh coffee and cereals so you can just relax and enjoy your holiday without having to immediately pop to the shops! Guests with bikes can store these along side our own bikes in a locked garage. We have ample off road parking. If needed we can provide travel cot, high chair and children's toys and books.
The village of horrabridge is just 8 minutes walk away and has 2 pubs, a convenience store, a bakery and fish & chip shop. The cycle way is under a mile from the cottage. The village of Yelverton is 1.4 miles away and has a co-op, petrol station and several coffee shops. The beautiful ancient market town of Tavistock is 3.4 miles away and has petrol stations, supermarkets and a large thriving high street.

The room can only be booked by female or couples
Guests can use the kitchen facilities and help yourself TO tea and coffee, if you stay longer than a week use of washing machine, please ask first, unfortunately I do not have a dryer. But my front yard will be perfect to dry clothes if its sunny day.

Host lives on site - accommodation is part of main house separated by locked door, the accommodation is on the ground floor we live in the upper floors of our house. This is self catering accommodation , we do however provide tea, coffee and milk for your arrival. Guest accommodation comprises of : A separate entrance, porch for shoes and coats etc Double bedroom Small kitchenette with kettle, toaster, microwave, small fridge (please note there is not a cooker) Shower room/ toilet Small sitting area with sofa bed that can sleep two (please note the sofa bed is the second bed, this sofa bed is the only seating in sitting area, so when made up as sofa bed there is not an additional sofa/living area) . Sitting area has a Tv. Travel cot available on request. Bathroom facilities are accessed via sitting area. We are lucky to be on open moorland yet we are not “in the sticks” : local facilities and public transport are easily accessible. Private parking available on our drive. Guests should note that views from the windows are not the open moorland, however take a few steps out the porch and you will tumble straight onto the beautiful Dartmoor National Park. So our accommodation offers a great place for night stop overs and there is lots to explore locally. Our home is one of the older properties in the area. If you are interested in a bit of history we are located near an old railway bridge and the house it was in situ at the time that the “old railway” used to pass by. We are not a sparkly shiny new build but a characterful older home with room on the porch to leave your welly boots :) Property is Strictly Non Smoking If you are looking to party this accommodation is not for you. No illicit drugs to be brought onto premises This is our home please treat it as such ie tidying and putting things away after use would be appreciated. * please note there is a private shower room only ie. Local shop in village for essentials. Bike hire available nearby from rocky bikes Yelverton. Both the elegant, bussely market town of Tavistock and the Waterside City of Plymouth are a short car journey away alternatively we we are on the Main bus route to both. Or if you’re feeling energetic you could cycle! Trips to the sea and sand are possible from here if you come by car we are lucky to have the choice of both the Devon and Cornwall coastline. There are some stunning National Trust properties and gardens to explore in the area with Buckland Abbey Home connected to Sir Francis Drake nearby. It may be of interest to train enthusiasts to know this is one of the “older” properties in the area so Is one of the few properties that is still standing from when the railway days. The Forge is a unique place full of character set at the edge of Dartmoor and only 2 miles from the market town of Tavistock. The Forge is a great place for cyclists and walkers, or if you just want to get away from it all. The Cornish Coast is not far and the city of Plymouth full of history is just a short car journey. Tavistock has the markets and lovely cafes and restaurants. The Forge has a log burner to snuggle up next too on those chilly evenings and a garden to enjoy.
The Forge has a log burner and under floor heating so it can be occupied through the year. The first basket of logs will be complimentary and after that please purchase from us. We welcome dogs and we just ask that dogs do not go on the furniture and respect that others will visit that do not have them. We can supply dog beds, blankets and dog towels for their stay if you forget anything.
The Dartmoor views speak for themselves, walking, cycling or just sitting watching the world go by eating an ice cream. There are some lovely local pubs, Peter Tavy Inn and Elephants Nest 16th Century Inn.

The Studio is furnished simply but comfortably. It is not at the high end of the holiday market but is clean, warm and practical. Upstairs there is a large family bedroom with a king-sized bed. Downstairs an open plan, well equipped kitchen/dining area with dishwasher, fridge freezer and comfortable chairs around a wood burning stove. The bathroom is downstairs with bath and shower and there is a utility room with washing machine and tumble drier.
The Studio is a cosy, converted barn next to our house within Dartmoor National Park. It is a perfect holiday spot for a couple or young family seeking a quiet holiday exploring this beautiful part of West Devon. There are lovely woodland walks near us along the River Walkham and wonderful opportunities for walking, climbing and riding on Dartmoor. We are close to the market town of Tavistock with its cafes, pubs, Pannier market, new Olympic sized swimming pool and Tavistock Wharf for Arts and Entertainment. The Rivers Tamar, Plym, and Tavy offer boat trips and canoeing and the beaches of Devon and Cornwall are easily accessible for day trips. There are good National Trust properties nearby and excellent gardens.

We are positioned on the very edge of Dartmoor, with the national cycle path 50 mtrs from the gate and walking distance to the adjacent villages of Yelverton & Horrabridge. The annex is a converted stable block and offers our guests the comfort of a newly developed facility, with kitchenette, sofa area, bedroom space and luxury shower room. The Annex will provide you with all of the comforts of home, while you concentrate on enjoying the beauty of the surrounding area. We are bias, but love it!
You will have access to a small veranda to enjoy a morning / evening drink, whilst absorbing the stunning views.
We are remote without feeling isolated. Our love of the moors is realised by just stepping out of the gate and setting off to many of the nearby villages/pubs/shops. We are only 8 miles from Plymouth and the world famous Hoe, where this year the National Mayflower 400 celebrations will be held.

The Old Smithy is set is a secluded valley on the river Tavy. It is a mile from the nearest road, down a private track through beautiful moorland and woodland. It's an ideal base for walking, cycling wild swimming and getting away from it all, a true nature lovers paradise! We live in a house on the same site so will be on hand for any advice or assistance. We are on the edge of Dartmoor National Park and an hour's drive from numerous beaches. The thriving town of Tavsitock is 7 miles away.
The Old Smithy has one bedroom with a king size bed. There is a double sofa bed and a single raised sleeping platform in the living area, with a ladder to access. It is ideal for a couple, a small family or group of friends happy to share. The kitchen is well-equipped and the dining table seats four people. Due to the remote location there is no television signal, but there is a television with USB ports and a large DVD library! There is no WiFi in The Old Smithy, but there is generally mobile signal and mobile data directly outside the front door. Please note: The last part of our track is unmade and we use 4x4 cars. We will be very happy to meet guests at a lay by half a mile away to bring them and their luggage to The Old Smithy and to return them at the end of the stay. There is parking by The Old Smithy for anyone brave enough to drive down all the way! It is advisable to bring any heavy items of shopping when you first arrive.
There are lots of beautiful walks and swimming spots right on the doorstep. The village of Yelverton which has a co-op, butchers, pharmacy , hairdressers and wonderful deli and coffee shop, The Game Larder, is 3 miles away. Buckland Abbey, National Trust Property and former home of Sir Francis Drake and The Garden House, a beautiful garden managed by the Forescue Garden Trust are both very nearby and worth a visit. The Drake Manor Inn and The Who'd Have Thought It pubs in neighbouring villages Buckland Monachorum and Milton Coombe are both great places to eat. We are right by Drakes Trail National Cycle Route 27. The thriving market town of Tavistock is a 7 mile drive or 4 mile walk away. Tavistock has a vibrant Arts centre The Wharf, numerous coffee shops and restaurants and some lovely independent shops and galleries.

Opposite Buckland Abbey there is Course Fishery called ‘Coombe Fisheries’ for any keen Anglers out there to spend your day, or there is the gorgeous Garden House, in Crapstone, 1 mile to the north, or if you fancy a game of Golf, Yelverton Golf Club would be happy to have you. Many more short adventures can be had when you venture into Dartmoor National Park again, only a few minutes from where you will be staying. Other local places of interest is Lopwell Dam, on the Marristow estate which benefits from ‘The Old Pump House’ restaurant and tea rooms, you can be sat on the terrace as the water thunders over the dam nearby and Swallows swoop across the river searching for insects, it makes for a lovely afternoon. Surrounding areas include the beautiful market town of Tavistock (7 Miles away) Britain’s Ocean City of Plymouth (10 miles away). For keen cyclists there is Drakes cycle trail all very close by (3 Miles) and lets not forget all the delights which can be had on Dartmoor National Park a less than 1 mile away across the cattle grids, not to mention the truly stunning Burritor Reservoir a short drive away (6 miles) this is a lovely walk or cycle being 4 miles circumference. Guests will also benefit from being able to visit beautiful beaches and sites in both Devon and Cornwall within 35 minutes drive.
