An ideal central location for a stay in Missouri, the Show Me state. Centrally located to St. Louis, wine country, and river floats, the River Haus hosts the discerning business traveler, the solo traveler, and couples and small families looking to enjoy Washington, Union, wine country, Purina Farms events, and the St. Louis area.
The River Haus has 3 bedrooms, two with king beds and the middle one with a queen bed, 2 bathrooms, an open living and dining area, kitchen, family sunroom, and a screened-in patio.
The River Haus was created as a retreat of peace and relaxation while you are in the area.
Whether you are here for business, for exploring Missouri parks and wine country, for biking the Katy Trail, for the dog shows and competitions at Purina Farms, or for visiting family for a wedding or holiday, the River Haus will be your place to rejuvenate.
The living area features incredibly gorgeous hardwood floors and lots and lots of space. With a modern couch, two side chairs, and a bench, there is comfortable seating for your whole group.
The fireplace in the great room is nonworking but is a cozy aesthetic. The smart TV has all of your favorite apps for you to log into, including Netflix, Hulu, Starz, Amazon, and more.
The sunroom off the kitchen is full of windows and light. With an electric fireplace, chess board, and shelves of board games, it is a wonderful area to hang out in.
Open to the great room, the dining area has the most beautiful family dining table with six fabric dining chairs. Eating together is one of the best parts of traveling together!
Fully equipped with all major appliances as well as several small appliances that you can’t live without (i.e. Keurig, regular coffeemaker, teapot). The stove and wall oven are classics, but they work wonderfully!
The River Haus is equipped with white place settings, solid flatware, and sleek glassware, as well as wine glasses for relaxing and children’s settings for small families.
With crisp white linens from The Distinguished Guest and deliciously comfortable beds, your sleep is high priority at the River Haus.
The front bedroom also has a rocking chair and pack-n-play for families bringing a little one.
*Please note that the floor plan is a little unusual, and you must walk through the queen bedroom to get to the back king bedroom. This is because the back part of the house was an addition to the original house.
With fluffy white towels and new flooring, the bathrooms are completely renovated and refreshed. The upstairs bathroom has a tub/shower combo, and the main level sunroom bathroom has a large rain shower head.
Brand new full size washer and dryer in the garage for guest use.
ADDITIONAL SLEEPING AREAS
The couches in the great room and sun room fold down to a full size bed to sleep one adult or two children each. We also provide a queen size air mattress upon request. All linens, blankets, and pillows are provided when you let us know you will need them.
The screened-in patio and the outdoor patio areas are perfect for a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of a local craft beer or wine. Relax after a long day of dog competition or strolling the downtown Washington shops and enjoy the small town neighborhood.
The front yard is quite large, with plenty of room to walk the dog. You are also welcome to use the green space across the street and catch a glimpse of the Missouri River through the trees.
The Missouri River is just over the bluff across the street from the house. When the trees are bare in the winter, you can see the water flowing. In the summer, it's not so easy to see the water.
The train tracks run next to the river, at the bottom of the bluff that is across from the house. You WILL hear the low rumble of the trains passing when you are outside, but you WILL NOT hear any whistles nor even see the trains. Washington is a "No Whistle" zone, so the trains do not blow their whistles. The trees across the street do an excellent job of protecting the train sounds from entering the neighborhood.
Are you in town for a wedding? We are a short drive from the downtown Washington area and an excellent location for a nap between the ceremony and the reception, or to change your shoes while you shop the downtown boutique stores.
