  • El millor lloc on ens hem quedat.

3 Bayview is a dreamy retreat on the seafront of Torcross. An amazing place to explore the treasures of South Devon, including the extraordinary biodiversity of Slapton Ley, the seals of Start Point, and if we're lucky again this year, the marvellous sight of the Slapton Humback Whale. Great food within a stone's throw and a hot shower so close to the water's edge that you can step out in your towel for a swim and then scramble back inside to warm yourselves up again!
Guests are effectively provided with 2 rooms for the price of 1. The double bedroom faces out onto the sea-front and there's an adjacent twin bedroom. The rooms come with their own bathroom, shower and toilet, and there's shared use of the kitchen, which includes a dining table (seats 6), television and also faces out onto the sea.
On top of being an extremely picturesque and popular beach, Slapton Sands plays an important part in the survival of some of the UK’s rarest flora and fauna. So if you’re looking for a cracking beach holiday with the opportunity to do a little bit of exploring on the side, Slapton Sands should be on your list of ‘must visit’ destinations. Slapton Sands' Past If you like your scenery to have a bit of history then Slapton Sands has a very moving story attached to it. In 1943, the beach was taken over by the allied forces to use as a rehearsal area for the D-Day Landings. Unfortunately, a combination of live ammunition and poor visibility resulted in the deaths of 749 American servicemen. You can visit a stone monument which was set in place on Slapton Sands to commemorate the ill-fated ‘Operation Tiger’, along with a Sherman Tank at nearby Torcross. Slapton’s Sands' Present Today, Slapton Sands is a beach where families and friends can enjoy great holidays. South Devon’s Mediterranean style climate means that the sea is safe, clean and calm, and there are plenty of water sports such as surfing, windsurfing and canoeing to try out. The beach is patrolled by lifeguards during the summer months and there is a flag system in place telling you where it’s safe to swim and when to stay out of the water. You can pick up a flag guide at the local Post Office or check local websites including the RNLI for details. If you get peckish and have forgotten to pack the sandwiches, there’s a beachside café serving drinks and light refreshments and Slapton Sands has facilities for anyone with mobility restrictions, with disabled beach access and toilets. If you want to bring the dog, you’ll be pleased to hear that Slapton Sands is a dog-friendly beach, allowing dogs throughout the year. Many visitors come to observe wildlife in the Nature Reserve. Throughout the year the plants and animals living in the freshwater lake, Slapton Ley, vary according to the seasons, giving you the chance to see something different every time you come. The whole stretch of this particular piece of coastline has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a great destination at any time of the year. https://www.visitsouthdevon.co.uk/things-to-do/slapton-sands-and-torcross-beach-p183983

March's Nook is a quiet studio barn tucked away in my sun trap garden. It has a shower room, sitting area, and small kitchen equipped with fridge, combination microwave, toaster, kettle and an induction hob. It also has a decked area outside. It is 1 mile from Slapton Sands, 7m from Salcombe. It is also on the bus route to Plymouth and Dartmouth. Parking is on street but the guest can park to unload. This aonb has a wealth of first class eateries, and wonderful unspoilt beaches
I can welcome two small dogs at a charge of £10 per booking per dog. I'm really sorry, the Nook is not suitable for children.
Marches Nook dates back to the 13th centuary. It is in a quintessential English village with a pub and post office. It is one mile from the historic Slapton sands and the Devon coastal path, but there are plenty of country walks as well. Devon with its rolling green hills and unspoilt beaches is my slice of heaven

Leyside is a beautiful, cosy and very comfortable, semi-detached cottage that overlooks the beautiful Slapton Ley in South Devon, a freshwater inland lake that is separated from the sea by a three mile long shingle ridge. Set in the middle of the thriving village of Torcross, there is no need to get in the car as the beach is on the doorstep, an excellent pub/restaurant and tea rooms are a few yards walk away and a good farm shop with garden centre and gift and craft shops as well as a brewery.
It was love at first sight for us and we hope you feel the same! Great walks and if you like your scenery to have a bit of history then Slapton Sands has a very moving story attached to it. In 1943, the beach was taken over by the allied forces to use as a rehearsal area for the D-Day Landings. Unfortunately, a combination of live ammunition and poor visibility resulted in the deaths of 749 American servicemen. You can visit a stone monument which was set in place on Slapton Sands to commemorate the ill-fated ‘Operation Tiger’, along with a Sherman Tank at Torcross. The seafront, a stone's throw from Leyside and visible from bedroom window, offers an array of quaint quality eateries and shops. Dogs are allowed on the beach all year around and there is a good offering of water sports.
The long stretch of beach passes through some amazing places such as Beesands and Slapton. The seafood shack at Beesands and The Cricketers are well worth a visit. The famous coastal town of Dartmouth is a short bus journey away and the beautiful South Hams beaches of Salcombe, South Milton and Bantham are half an hour by car. The pretty market town of Kingsbridge offers all the usual array of amenities, such as supermarkets, cinema, leisure centre and an abundance of quality independent shops and eateries.

South Devon is really a beautiful location and Sunnyview has an amazing position in the coastal village of Torcross, with 3miles of beach on your doorstep. There is so much to explore in this magnificent area. The house is really unique, giving guests a different experience to your usual accommodation. It's cosy and compact with some clever design features to make creative use of the space. Views are stunning and lighting at night give a great ambience. It's definitely a special little place
It is a great place for one or two people as it is cosy, being more like a studio upstairs and small kitchen, bathroom downstairs. So don't expect loads of room and storage space, but its got all you need in a small house for a short break. The bed is custom made, really comfy and fitted into one corner of the room, so access from just one side. Sofa for chilling and breakfast bar for eating, reading/working and gazing out at the views. A small patio by the frontdoor with table and chairs and chiminea is great spot for morning sun over breakfast or having an evening drink as you watch the sunset over the hills. There is also a raised garden above the house in the hill which gives an even better view over the village, sea and lake. Most people eat out a lot when they are here as there are some brilliant eateries around, many of which can be reached by taking a nice walk. You can also stay in and cook or bbq on the chiminea, although there is no oven. The bathroom has a shower, and be aware that the stairs are steep. The house feels and has the size of a boat, which adds to the quirky character of the place. There is no direct parking outside the house but only 30m away is a free village parking area. A parking permit is provided in case the free spaces are taken.
Torcross is a lovely quiet small coastal village. At night there are almost no street lights and noise, and Sunnyview is detached at the back of the village centre so you have real peace and quiet. The village has a very convenient village shop (30m away) including post office and gift shop. It has an amazing history both as a result of man's influence (from the 2nd World War) and due to nature. There is a great pub and restaurant. In summer the village is quite popular, but we are not talking hourds of people, t is still south Devon!
