Our warm and welcoming cottage, boasts an original inglenook fireplace with solid fuel burning stove and exposed stone. The walls are at least one meter thick and the cottage predates the Irish famine.
This unique cottage is 5 kilometers from the village of Baltimore. There is a music studio on site and the hosts offer a range of creative options, such as recording, songwriting and video. There is no light pollution, so star gazing is fantastic. The property overlooks the Atlantic and area is well know for whale and bird watching.
Peace and tranquility married with the rugged landscape makes Spain, Baltimore unique. Dramatic coastlines along with ruins of old cottages and breathtaking cliff top views are unequaled. Lough Hyne, Irelands first marine nature reserve and saltwater lake, connected to the sea by rapids is also close-by.
Tot era perfecte i Aisling i Doonagh eren excel·lents amfitrions, us recomano quedar aquí!

This cute and quirky cottage overlooks the ancient holy well of St. James on the Wild Atlantic Way in the tiny village of Ardfield. The cottage, part of a barn conversion, is small but charming with lots of old wood, vintage stuff and charming hosts! Ardfield is just 4 rambling miles from Clonakilty, which has loads of restaurants and pubs with live music. It's perfect for a couple or a family with small children (not 4 adults!)
The cottage is part of a barn conversion along with Seascape Cottage. Holy Well Cottage overlooks the Holy Well of St. James, an natural spring that once was the main water supply for Ardfield Village. The compact cottage consists of sleeping quarters downstairs, with a small double bed which has an adjoining shower room and bunk room. The bunks are compact, so are not suitable for BIG adults!
Ardfield, just over 4 miles from Clonakilty, is remote and beautiful, but lively too with it's own festival that happens in the first week of August. Sitting out on a peninsula in the Atlantic Ocean, with the Galley Head lighthouse at it's tip. Ardfield is surrounded by beautiful beaches - big and small - great for surfing, swimming, sand castle building or just a beautiful walk. There's lots of wildlife and heritage about too. There are salt water marshes ideal for bird watching, along with rugged cliffs for spotting costal birds. There are lovely heritage seaside towns to visit, like Kinsale, Clonakilty, Glendore and Baltimore. There are heritage centres in Kinsale, Bandon, Clonakilty and Skibbereen. For those with an interest in Irish history there is lots to learn about the Famine in West Cork, and to find out about Michael Collins, who was born just down the road in Woodfield and worked and lived in Clonakilty. In Ardfield there is a lovely new playground with lots of fantastic climbing frames, swings and a zip wire. O'Sullivan's Mountain House pub is lively and in the summer does coffees and toasted specials during the day (toasted specials are an Irish delicacy - a toasted sandwich with ham, cheese, onion and tomato). Holy Well Cottage is a great option for people attending weddings at Dunmore House Hotel. And for those of you not attending a wedding there, it's worth for the food and the view! It is also a good option for those attending weddings at Inchydoney Island Lodge and Spa.

The Long Barn is an old stone whitewashed barn. It has private entrance and outside space, set in tranquil, leafy and secluded gardens near the end of a long, quiet country lane leading, in a few minutes amble, to a safe and secluded beach. The ambience of the barn is comfort, with cotton sheets, feather pillows and duvets, roaring log fires and comfy chairs. If you like quirky old buildings, with oak beams and thumb-latch doors, rather than a faceless hotel room, then you'll like this place.
Renowned as an artistic retreat, the headland of Reen must be one of the most tranquil spots in Europe, let alone Ireland. You might possibly hear a fishing boat chugging the old trawling grounds off the coast. Otherwise your aural landscape is likely to be limited to birdsong, the wind in the leaves, and the distant crash of surf. It is a remote spot, well off the beaten track, about seven minutes drive to the nearest village. We aim to provide a quiet and peaceful place, an ideal spot for relaxation, unwinding, de-stressing and generally taking a time-out from the frantic pace of modern life.
On The Wild Atlantic Way, Reen headland sits between Glandore and Castlehaven harbours, ideally placed for all sailing, whale watching, sea kayaking and simple swimming (and paddling!) activities. Catch crabs off the pier. Walk in Rineen Woods and see the Fairy Houses. Come to the many festivals, The West Cork Food Festival, the Guitar Festival, the Jazz Festival, to name but a few.

  • Casa increïble, moderna, de bon gust, espaiosa, sostres alts. Privat i tranquil. Claire i Lee

    Alya2017-10-10T00:00:00Z

    Maud2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Excel·lent.

Close to the village but quiet and secluded. The house is a home and full of interest . I love my garden and the hillside around and that at night it is dark and quiet [rather than traffic noise I hear a fox bark or an owl hoot up the hill] We have two cats.
The en-suite bedroom has a double bed and is ideal for a single person or two people sharing. The room is clean and bright and located close to the kitchen and living room. My house seems secluded and quiet since it is hidden behind trees on a hillside , but it is close to the N 71 and Leap village. Glandore and Union Hall are less than two miles away.
I think of Leap as the beginning of wild West Cork. Here the coastline begins to become rugged with endless coves to explore. It is a great base from which to explore . The village is quiet but has several pubs and places in which to eat out.

WE PROVIDE: Bed linen Towels Soap Shampoo Hairdryer Iron and ironing board BREAKFAST: Porridge or muesli with yoghourt Toast with jam/marmalade Tea or coffee THE HOUSE AND GARDEN Windfall is a short drive from the village of Rosscarbery. We are close to the Warren beach, Celtic Ross Hotel and Spa, and the great gourmet restaurants and bars in Rosscarbery village. There are other lovely beaches and coves within easy driving distance. Windfall is an old cottage situated in its own wildflower meadow. The garden is an ongoing project against unkempt and rampant growth and years of neglect and there is now a lawn, orchard, flower meadow and the beginnings of formal flower beds. The house has been recently brought up-to-date with large windows so it is bright and sunny though there are wood-burning stoves for chillier evenings. We use only natural Castile soap for all cleaning and no harsh chemicals at all. Windfall is surrounded by beautiful countryside and woodland, perfect if you want to unwind. There is a pleasant walk into the village of Rosscarbery on a secluded country road. This takes about 40 minutes and is perfect if you want to visit the pub. We are happy for you to use the garden and kitchen/sitting room but please read the House Rules below for greater clarification. EATING AND DRINKING Rosscarbery has some great places to eat and drink, such as Nolan’s Bar and Pilgrim's award-winning restaurant. There are also restaurants and bars looking over the harbour in nearby Glandore and great restaurants and cafes all over West Cork. TOURING The house is perfectly placed as a base for touring as it is just off the main N71 road. Courtmacsherry and Kinsale are within easy reach to the east. Westwards are Skibbereen, Castletownshend, Schull and the Mizen Head on the way to Kerry. THE NEIGHBOURHOOD We are very close to the picturesque harbour of Glandore and the fishing village of Union Hall. There are many ancient sites to visit in West Cork, the nearest is the stone circle at Reenascreena and the stunning Drombeg and the countryside is dotted with standing stones and ruined fortified houses such as Coppinger’s Court. You can take a ferry to Cape Clear and Sherkin Islands from the harbour at Baltimore as well as a boat to view Fastnet Rock. Whalewatching is a must with regular sightings of Minkies and Humpbacks. There is a medieval castle, Castle Salem, a few minutes down the road - one of the few fortified houses still lived in - where you can book a personal tour from the owner. THINGS TO DO • Skibbereen Arts Fesitval • Clonakilty Guitar Festival • Skibbereen History Festival • West Cork Food Festival • Michael Collins Museum, Birthplace and the Four Alls Pub (his local) • West Cork Chamber Music Festival • Music at De Barra's (Clonakilty) or Connolly's (Leap) • Gardens such as Inis Beg, Glebe, Drishane House • Bird-watching • Whale-watching • Fishing • Sailing • Riding and Pony-trekking • Kayaking HOUSE RULES: We have House Rules simply because we find it makes life easier for everyone and we want you to enjoy your stay here. There are plenty of really good and reasonably-priced restaurants in and around Rosscarbery. OTHERS: Absolutely no bringing other people/friends (who are not a part of your booking) to the house – not even to "hangout for a little". Please respect our home and don't show up with a stranger on our doorstep. Please do not give out our address or have friends meet you here. QUIET HOURS: We want to be respectful of everyone's sleeping schedule. Please be considerate of noise between 11pm-9am. But no curfew, you can come and go whatever time you want! NO SMOKING/VAPING IN THE HOUSE please. GARDEN: Please feel free to roam the garden and/or relax. Please use the paths through the wildflower meadow and orchard and do not trample the wild flowers. Rosscarbery is conveniently situated on the main N71 road from Cork to the west. Rosscarbery is a lovely, quiet village with pubs and restaurants. The local beach, the Warren, is a stone's throw and is a lovely sandy cove reached along a causeway through natural wetlands. There is spectacular coastal scenery, such as the Galley Head, a short drive away and my guests are always stunned by the beautiful countryside all round. There are lovely sandy beaches all along the coast within easy driving distance. There is a small supermarket, post office, gift shop, chemist and art gallery, hairdressers and a beauty salon. A swimming pool and spa is open to non-residents at the Celtic Ross Hotel. For such a small place there are some really good places to eat and drink such as Nolan's Bar and Pilgrim's.
