Welcome to Castle Mews, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Castle Mews is a hidden gem of a cottage, at the end of a short row of cottages tucked away down a gated passageway, right in the heart of the lovely market town of Cirencester. In Roman times Cirencester was known as “Corinium”, when it was the second largest town in Britain, a history that is celebrated in its local museum. Nowadays, Cirencester is the largest town in the Cotswolds, enabling it to support a wide range of pubs, restaurants and shops, all housed in beautiful honey-coloured Cotswold stone buildings. The town is surrounded by stunning countryside and beautiful Cotswold villages, as well as being an ideal base for visiting further afield places, such as Bath, Oxford or even a day trip into London. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
Castle Mews is very peacefully located, down a gated passageway off Castle street, a beautiful street in the heart of Cirencester. There is a lovely enclosed courtyard garden at the front of the cottage, which leads to the front door. The door opens into the open plan ground floor: Living/dining area: The relaxing living and dining space contains a comfy sofa, an armchair and a wooden dining table, with seating for two. Discretely hidden away in a wooden cabinet is a small SMART TV and DVD player; Kitchen area: The lovely kitchen area is very well laid out and contains a two ring induction hob, electric oven, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and a washing machine/tumble dryer. Stairs lead up from the living area to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Bedroom: A lovely eaves room, with oak beams and a ledge and brace door, which contains a king size bed; Dressing room: A nice additional space, which contains a sofa, a dressing table and a free standing towel rail; Bathroom: Contains a bath with overhead shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail. Returning downstairs, a stable door leads out from the kitchen area to a small, enclosed courtyard garden at the back of the cottage, which contains a table and two seats. The garden area at the front of the cottage is larger and is a beautiful place to sit outside and relax, containing two comfy chairs and a small table.
Bourton-on-the-Water is arguably one of the most popular villages of the Cotswolds, especially amongst overseas visitors. Having been nicknamed the "Venice of the Cotswolds", its scenery is the main draw for travellers. The River Windrush meanders through beautiful English countryside before passing over rapids next to the Old Mill and arriving at Bourton. The river is fed from many springs, with the source approximately ten miles from the village and, after flowing under the bridges of Bourton, it passes other villages before eventually joining the Thames. There are various attractions in the village, including the famous Birdland, which is home to a variety of birds from around the world. Here visitors can see parrots, pelicans, flamingos and penguins to name just a few, with experienced keepers feeding the birds and leading demonstrations. The Model Village is well worth a visit, as Bourton is the only village in the Cotswolds to have a one-ninth scale replica of itself. It is carefully maintained and has all of the characterful buildings including the Old Water Mill and the Old New Inn. Those lucky enough to witness snow in the winter months will notice photographers at the model village trying to get the perfect picture of the snowy scene. Another family favourite is the Dragonfly Maze. This yew maze leads visitors through the labyrinth, gathering clues in order to find the pavilion in the centre which enables them to unlock the final secret! The maze was constructed by Kit Williams, author of the golden hare treasure hunt book, "Masquerade".

No. 32 is a lovely stone cottage in the Cotswolds, in North Cerney, near Cirencester. This pretty 2-bedroomed cottage is situated next to our home, so creating the perfect cosy, comfortable retreat has been somewhat a labour of love. Our aim is for you relax, unwind and make the most of your surroundings when you stay at N.32, so during your holiday you will have exclusive use of our gated drive, a private patio and a lovely, large back garden complete with fire pit and children's play area.
LOCATION N.32 is located in the heart of North Cerney village, next to its little primary school. The cottage is set back from the road and looks out onto a pretty cottage-style front garden. A 5-barred gate opens into the spacious driveway between N.32 and our home (you will have exclusive use of this drive throughout your holiday). ACCESS The cottage , though it shares its back wall with our annexe, is detached on three sides, and so feels private. It has two separate entrances, one at the front of the house, and the other to the side. GROUND FLOOR Entering through this side door you find yourself in the light and airy kitchen where you will find everything you will need to be able to cook away from home without compromise. The ground floor layout is open plan, and as a result feels unusually light and airy for a traditional cottage still rich in character. We have created zones for lounging and dining and provided plump cushions and warm throws to encourage you to take some time to curl up next to the fire with a book, or treat yourself to an indulgent afternoon snooze. For younger guests, next to the TV we have provided a selection of board games and there is an XBOX One with two controllers, complete with a selection of games suitable for children 12 years and under. UPSTAIRS The bedrooms are reached by stairs by the side of the kitchen area. All rooms lead off a small, carpeted landing, among them a light bathroom, equipped with WC, bath and over-bath shower, and a study/utility room laid out with desk, chair and washing machine (available for your use). Both bedrooms look out onto the pretty cottage-style front garden and are each equipped with fitted wardrobes. We have taken care to create the bedrooms we would choose to sleep in with calming colour-schemes, high quality furniture and 100% cotton bed linen with a high thread-count (300 minimum). PATIO & GARDEN A highlight of N.32, particularly during the warmer months, is the access to outside space. The study/utility room opens out onto a spacious, private patio, the perfect space for eating al fresco or relaxing and soaking up some sun. Table tennis is also provided for those feeling a little more energetic! We would like you to really feel at home at N.32, and so during your stay you will have exclusive use of our tiered, lawned back garden complete with children's play area with wooden framed swings, walkway and slide. For long, lazy nights under the stars, we have created a cosy stone circle with fire pit for you to enjoy. Our aim is for you to feel that you can make full use of the garden, and so will respect your privacy and refrain from using it during your stay. We may occasionally sit out on our own patio (separate from that of N.32 and not visible from N.32's patio) at times when the garden is free. CHILDREN & GARDEN SAFETY We would suggest that currently N.32 is not suitable for children from crawling age to 5 years old due to potentially dangerous aspects of the garden: The garden is on an upper level and there is a large stone staircase running down to the parking area from the edge of the garden, which is currently not child-proof. Both garden and parking area are gated, however again these are not completely child-proof as are unbolted at present. Our aim is to improve this and make the cottage and garden safer so that we can welcome families with toddlers and very young children, but this is a project for later this spring/early summer. **NEW!** Looking for ADDITIONAL BEDROOM SPACE so parents/grandparents/friends can stay too? You can have access to a double room with private ensuite in a lovely house just 2 minutes' up the lane from No.32 - please message us if interested for details.
North Cerney itself is a small, pretty village boasting a good traditional pub and surrounded by rolling Cotswold countryside - so plenty of opportunity for walking! The village is situated just off the A325, a pretty road which links historic Cirencester and impressive Cheltenham. We are the perfect base from which to explore the Cotswolds, by car, bike or even on foot - we are a 15-minute drive away from access to the Cleeve Hill-Bibury section of the Cotswold Way.

A stylish open plan barn conversion, with gorgeous uninterrupted Cotswold countryside views. It's in a private setting, perfect for couples or solo visitors. Situated on the edge of a beautiful village, it's an ideal base for enjoying all the Cotswolds has to offer, including great walking and cycling, lovely country pubs and famous cultural/sporting events in nearby Cheltenham (@10 miles). Alternatively you can just relax, enjoy the scenery and do nothing at all.
We are perched on top of a hill on the edge of a beautiful and typical Cotswold village in an area of outstanding natural beauty. At the top of our driveway, tucked away from the main house, is our barn. If you are looking for something a little bit different but with a modern feel, gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside and privacy, then this will be for you. Our pool house was converted from a small stone barn and, as the name suggests, there is an outdoor pool and one side of the building looks out on to this (though it's only open June-August). The other side looks out on to uninterrupted views of magnificent rolling hills, complete with sheep, pheasants and birds of prey. Outdoor furniture is available. Inside it's a little non-conventional, and is open plan, with a mezzanine bedroom area that has a huge gable-end window and an 11-rung wall-fixed ladder to get you up to it. Up there is a low-level double bed and a cargo net that pulls across the mezzanine opening for extra safety, if needed. NB We are very sorry but this won't be suitable for anyone who cannot ably and confidently use a ladder to go both up and down. There is a separate toilet with a small hand basin and a walk-in overhead shower (please note no bath) with a connecting changing area where you can also store/hang things out of the way. The main room is open plan and has a kitchen area with an island and seating for 6. It's well equipped and includes gas hob, electric oven, fridge with small freezer box, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and kettle (no washing machine/dryer). There is a huge, very comfy corner sofa for relaxing and there's a TV with an Amazon Firestick with a small selection of channel apps including Netflix and Amazon Prime. It has under floor heating throughout. Please note we do not have curtains on the massive sliding doors on each side, however it is private where the barn is situated with no buildings overlooking it. There are removable blackouts that can be used on the gable-end window on the mezzanine/bedroom level, for those who prefer less light when sleeping. Outside there's a lovely deck and beyond the pool is a private garden area leading on to a paddock. Wifi works very well, mobile not very well at all, though you can hook-up to the wifi and use wifi calling, if you have it and that works perfectly.
Our area is very beautiful, very green, very quiet and very rural. This makes for a relaxing and peaceful stay. It's also super-dark at night as we have no street lights. If you are looking for night-life you'd have to go to Cheltenham (15 mins drive, cab possible with a bit of pre-planning). Please note you will have to drive to get to a pub or shop.

Or The Black Horse at Naunton is also a lovely village pub with great pub food and a cosy atmosphere.
The Notgrove Estate is a 1500 acre family run working farm owned by Harry and Diana Acland. Set high up in the Cotswold Hills it has 400 acres of grassland in deep valleys and 100 acres of woodland and rolling arable fields. The farm has a mix of sheep, cattle and arable and has diversified with two horse livery yards and a holiday cottage business. In the last few years Harry and Diana have put in new foot and bridle paths and entered into a wildlife conservation scheme planting 200 acres of special plots planted with wild bird mixes, corn bunting mixes, pollen and nectar mixes for bees and beetle banks that promotes the preservation of our natural wild birds. The scenery changes with each season as does the pattern of farming; we have an abundance of lambs and calves in spring, harvest in summer, colourful autumn leaves and dramatic winters, often with snow.

Staying at Demeter gives you private and independent accommodation in a cosy self-contained detached garden annexe, which is situated in a small village in the delightful Cotswold countryside. Provisions for a continental and/or English style breakfast are provided for the first night as experience shows that longer stay guests prefer to cater for themselves. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.
Situated in the garden of the main house, the annexe was originally built as a 'granny flat' and, therefore, is particularly well adapted for elderly and/or people with impaired mobility. It is completely self-contained, well-appointed, warm and cosy; with an option to use the futon in the lounge as a single sofa bed. A travel cot (<2 years old) is available.
Situated so near Cirencester, we are ideally positioned as a central base for touring around either the northern or southern Cotswolds, attending events like Cheltenham's Literary Festival, Badminton's Horse Trials or Gloucester's Three Choirs Festival. However, if you just want a relaxing break from everyday life, cycling or walking ( with or without a dog), there are great routes from the village on the easy footpaths or bridle ways, and every chance of seeing an abundance of wildlife, especially watching the buzzards, kites or deer.

The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

Lovely space right in the heart of Cirencester's town centre with views of the church and the market place. My flat is set over two floors with beautiful high ceilings, wooden floors throughout the living area and lots of natural light. The building itself is over three hundred years old. My flat and the location makes it an ideal base from which to explore the Cotswolds. Solo visitors, couples and families with children are all welcome.
I have two rooms available. Room 1 (pictured) is a triple room with a double bed and a single bed. A travel cot can be provided. I have another (unlisted) room which has a double bed. This room can be made available if required. Please note that your reservation is only for 1 room unless otherwise requested at booking. There is lots of natural light in the rooms and throughout the flat. The rounded/domed skylight in to the hall is a beautiful original feature. The view from my living and dining room and both bedrooms is of the Market Place and the church -particularly lovely in the sunshine.
Cirencester has an open air pool which is a 5 min walk away. As is Cirencester Park and Country House. Shops, restaurant's, cafe's and all amenities are literally on the doorstep. There are 3 supermarkets within a 5 minute walk.

Bellament dissenyat i realment ben considerat.

Gràcies Laura i Dries.

L'apartament estava net i agradable!

The Potting Shed is the quintessential 5* Cotswold escape. Following an 18 month restoration completed in May 2019, this stone barn conversion is the perfect retreat. Located within the grounds of an elegant Grade II listed Georgian town house on Cecily Hill - voted one of the prettiest streets in England, this romantic getaway is accessed by a private stone bridge which leads through through a formal kitchen garden to a stunning private terrace.
COVID-19 POTTING SHED UPDATE - Your safety and protection is our top priority, we are deep cleaning the Potting Shed between visits and have plenty of anti-bacterial wipes and hand wash throughout the property. In addition you are totally isolated, with your own private entrances, plenty of private outside space and the largest park (Cirencester Park) in the county right on your doorstep to roam around in complete privacy. As of 21/3/20 Most restaurants/Pubs are offering take away and delivery services. Further details will be listed in our guidebook as they become available. Send us a message, we are here to help! The Potting Shed is a self-contained converted stone barn which occupies 550 sq ft of living space and has a generous 200 sq ft private terrace. This gorgeous hideaway sits in our grounds but, with its own separate entrance, it is a very private and quiet cottage. Following an extensive restoration from the ground up in 2018/19, we have used local materials and Cotswold craftsmanship to create a retreat that’s been decorated to a very high standard throughout using beautiful fittings, Farrow and Ball paints and designer fabrics. Upstairs under the eaves, with their original lime-washed oak beams and exposed Cotswold stone walls, are 4 heritage double glazed conservation windows, fitted with black out blinds for the light early mornings. The queen sized (1400) pocket sprung bed with luxurious 400 thread Egyptian cotton pressed linen (Nb. Can also be set up as a twin room) occupies one end of the bedroom while a generous cupboard sits at the other end with a hanging rail and masses of hangers for your clothes and space for your bags. All the upstairs lighting controls are conveniently located next to both sides of the bed. In addition, there is a DAB Roberts radio on the bedside table. Downstairs features a great living space with excellent wifi and underfloor heating installed throughout. There’s a fully equipped kitchen containing a Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, fridge with ice compartment, gas cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, washing machine and masses of kitchen utensils, pots and pans… so if you fancy dining in, there’s everything you need to create delicious meals while the drop-leaf dining table can be extended from 2 to 4 places. In the cosy living area, there’s a deep sofa and a 4k TV with access to both Catch-up and Netflix. Finally, for those chilly evenings, a stylish Chesneys gas fire will keep you lovely and warm and as it’s operated by remote control, you need only to lift a finger ! The luxurious bathroom is also located downstairs and is equipped with underfloor heating and high end fittings such as a Hanns Grohe shower, Burlington taps and natural Bramley bathroom products, all designed for complete indulgence. To ensure your stay is as comfortable as can be, we’ve kitted out the cottage with a fully integrated heating system operated by Nest, which also controls the underfloor heating. But your safety is vital so we’ve also installed an intelligent AutoMist® fire suppression system. Outside, the terrace is perfectly set-up for alfresco drinks and dining and it is there exclusively for your use. There is a shared formal kitchen garden / potager, bordered by a mature hedge which forms the boundary of the shared space, beyond which the rest of the garden is private. The Gumstool Brook bridge was also rebuilt last year and the iron decorative railings and pillars which we added won the Cirencester 2019 Civic Design award. Checking-in, Dropping off & Parking The Potting Shed is set up for self check-in, with a keypad entry system on the bridge and a key safe by the front door. Unfortunately, we do not provide parking on site, however there is a drop off point at the end of the Gumstool Brook path, where guests can unload. Cars can be parked at The Old Station, The Brewery, Waterloo or The Beeches car parks; there is also free off-street parking on Barton Lane (subject to availability) just 3 minutes’ walk away. Alternatively, private parking can be arranged for a small charge 5 minutes walk away, including a Type 2 EV charge point. For those travelling without a car, Kemble train station is situated 10 minutes from Cirencester – and trains from London take 1hr 20mins. From May until September, the beautiful Cirencester open air swimming pool, with its warm spring-fed water, is open from 7am. It’s a couple of minutes' walk along from the Gumstool Brook bridge so why not go for a refreshing early morning dip!
We are located in perhaps the most beautiful and convenient location in Cirencester. The local pub and best restaurants in town are 90 seconds away and if you enjoy a good walk, we are right next to the entrance of Cirencester park and estate owned by Lord and Lady Bathurst with a cafe, miles and miles of walking, Cirencester cricket club, tennis courts and polo which is played throughout the summer. Bring your walking boots or don’t and just sit in this wonderful park and watch the world go by.. last but not least there is the recently refurbished open air pool, 1 minute walk away and open throughout the summer.

The local pub is The Plough at Cold Aston, this is a 1.5 miles walk from us across the fields or down a quiet lane - with lovely food and beers.

Aparcament just davant.
