Our rustic 1000 sqft log timber chalet, with private deck and over hanging eaves sleeps up to 6 guests; perfect for a romantic getaway for couples, or great to share with friends and family. The main floor includes a full bathroom with shower, open concept living/dinning area, gorgeous river rock propane fireplace, and private bedroom with a queen bed, dresser and desk. In the loft, you'll find a half bath and open tub, 2 twin beds and a queen bed. The front of the Chalet looks out towards the towering Chancellor Peaks and is a few minutes walk to the Kicking Horse River. A propane grill and outdoor seating is located on the deck. Just in front of the Chalet is an outdoor fire pit. The Chalet has decent wifi, and close proximity to parking so you don't have to drag your luggage too far.
Beds are dressed with soft cotton linens, duvets and plenty of extra blankets and towels for everyone. We've also added a few extra touches to make our Chalet feel extra cozy; your home away from home.

Make sure to check out the Burgess Shale fossil-bearing deposit exposed in the Canadian Rockies, most often visited by guided hike departing from Yoho National Park. It is famous for its exceptional preservation of the soft parts of its fossils. At 508 million years old, they are way older than dinosaurs, and our ancestry can be traced back to these diverse ocean creatures. Book yourself in for a guided hike and while you're at it sign up for a visit to Lake O'hara, a hidden gem of hanging valleys and jewel-blue lakes, as reservations are required.
