This is a cosy private room in a terraced house 5 minutes walk away from central Kendal. You will be easy reach of cafes, the castle, the beautiful river & the brewery arts centre. The space is shared with my partner Michelle & the dog, you have access to all the communal spaces & are welcome to cook. Think hostel simplicity! We are a lived in house so spaces will not be sparkling clean but hygienic 😊 Your bedding & towels always laundered but never ironed 😊 on street parking available.
Guests are welcome to use the kitchen and laundry facilities. A free continental breakfast of cereal and toast is included not to mention as much tea, coffee, chai, herbal tea etc as you like. You are more than welcome to use the kitchen to cook, we have oil, spices etc that you are more than welcome to use. There is no dishwasher unfortunately so the only downside is the washing up :) If you want to get here early or make the best of your last day you can leave your luggage in our front room, as long as the room is vacated by 11 we're not fussy.

Located in the historic hamlet of Mealbank, Mintside is part of a modern development that enjoys treetop views over open countryside. With tranquil secret valleys and riverside walks close at hand, this is a great place to relax with all of the comforts of home. The centrally heated accommodation includes a spacious lounge with comfortable settee, dining table and satellite TV. A bookcase contains a range of reading material on walks and local attractions plus a collection of DVD’s and games. A side door gives level access directly from the parking area to the lounge. The well equipped kitchen includes cooker, microwave, toaster and fridge, with a door leading to the private patio area. An attractive wooden staircase gives access to the first floor which includes a spacious bedroom and modern bathroom. The Den is a unique space within the Lake District - a Scandinavian style BBQ cabin. A large BBQ pit in the centre to sit around provides a cosy relaxing evening space, and a place to cook! WiFi, Fridge, Microwave, Kettle & Nespresso. Bedding provided, and a heated blanket! 8 minutes by car to Windermere, 5 minutes to Kendal. Easy access to a bus stop and cycle lane. Dales Way very close by. A camping-type toilet and sink (hot & cold water) next to the cabin. Dogs welcome £5/night extra.
Set in 2/3rds of an acre of beautiful gardens with private countryside views. Off street private and secure parking is provided. Toilet is located next to The Den in a separate shed. The sink has running hot & cold drinking water. Please note there are not shower facilities, but the sink with running water is suitable for taking a daily wash.
We are about half way between Kendal and Windermere. The main cycle lane into the Lake District is directly across the road, as is the Dales Way walking path. The Den is in a semi-rural setting with views to the surrounding countryside. For clarity's sake, during busy rush hours there is some traffic noise from the road, but evenings and nights are typically quiet. Please note that we are not the Windermere Camping Site, despite the AirBnB map showing it close by!

Our self contained attached cosy bungalow was built to a high standard four years ago (2016) and is located in a quiet residential cul-de-sac located about 20 minutes walk from Kendal centre along the old canal cycle way. The facility comprises:- Seperate entrance, lounge/kitchenette,shower room, double bedroom , dressing room , off road adjacent parking , dedicated private outdoor space and a secure area for cycles. We are ideally suited for trips to the Lakes,Morecambe Bay and the Dales.
TV’s to all rooms , wifi, fridge, microwave , mini oven , kettle , 2 ring gas hob, toaster. Breakfast: A selection of cereals , jam , marmalade , milk , spread , bread .
We live in a quiet residential area to the south east of Kendal. Courteous behaviour would be welcomed by all.

The flat is situated two minutes walk to Kendal Town Centre. The bus and train stations no more than five minutes. The local train runs directly to Windermere, and the 555 Bus goes Keswick via Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere. The flat overlooks the River Kent with walks up to Kendal Castle, home of Katherine Parr.Our building has disabled access, but not to our flat. There are two lifts for both entrances for the main entrance and the rear. Parking is available only for one vehicle.
If you are arriving by train we will be happy to meet you and bring you here.
There are various cafes and restaurants for all tastes. Market days on Wednesday and Saturday.

Brand new, stylish and comfortable garden room extension perfect for all types of traveller; leisure, pleasure or work. A private guest entrance and private shower room, mean you can come and go as you please, or sit and relax with a glass of wine or a coffee on the patio. A fabulous base to explore the Lakes, North Lakes, Kendal and/or the Yorkshire Dales. Fancy a rest? You can watch what you want on your own TV and make yourself a 'proper' cup of tea with fresh milk from your own fridge.
What do we provide? The accommodation comprises of a standard double bed with an anti-allergy quilt and two anti-allergy pillows per person. The linen is professionally laundered and you will have a bath towel per person. We provide a hanging rail for your posh frocks and smart jackets and there is plenty of room under the bed for cases and bags. We have also a fridge should you wish to bring some fizz, a bottle opener and wine glasses. The room is also equipped with a hairdryer, 24inch TV with freeview, and you are welcome to use our Wifi (password in welcome pack). For breakfast we offer pastries, fresh fruit, yoghurt, fruit, fresh orange and tea and coffee. There will also be some sweet treats in the cookie jar. What to do, where to go? Inside Appleby 24you will find a welcome pack with more information from me, including details about places to eat and drink and things to do. There are also plenty of leaflets about local attractions in the local tourist information (10 minute walk from the accommodation) Feedback – Please feel free to leave us comments regarding your stay in our visitors book and online. This feedback is very much appreciated and will help us to make sure future guests are as comfortable and happy as possible during their stay. This is lovely quiet area in South Cumbria, situated on the North side of Kendal, with easy access to the lake district, a 10min or so drive and you will be on the idlic shores of lake Windermere. The property has been converted to high spec so it is comfortable, warm and relaxing. It is ideal for one or two people, either twin or double bed, if you could please state this when booking would be helpful. It has a smart TV, WiFi,microwave, fridge, toaster and tea and coffee making facilities. There is a local shop within 5 minutes walk and Kendal Town centre is approx 15 min walk. Aldi, Morrisons and sainsbury are a short drive away. It has its own ensuite shower room with heated mirror. There is a seating are outside on artificial grass ideal for relaxing after a busy day. Wainwright House is a ten minute walk to the town centre with its superb restaurants, dining and shops. You’ll love Wainwright House's location and its stylish rooms and high ceilings. It is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers and families. We also have our own off street parking. A charming apartment in a traditional Lakeland house. Ideal for walking, cycling, climbing, rowing, sailing and kayaking. Wide choice of shops, cafes, pubs & restaurants in nearby Windermere & Bowness. Main tourist attractions within easy reach.
Willow is a located in tranquil woodland with views towards the mountains and fells. The apartment is part of an extension to Pinethwaite Lodge. The original part of Pinethwaite Lodge dates from the late 19th Century. Willow has a bedroom with double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. The kitchen, dining and living area are all in one room with sink, electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, dining table and chairs, settee and TV. The bathroom has underfloor electric heating, a shower, toilet and wash hand basin. A cot for a baby can be provided on request but please bring bedding for the cot (my children are in their mid 20s now!) Willow and our grounds are not 'child friendly', however. I do not provide child proof plug socket covers or cupboard locks. In addition there are a number of external hazards including a pond, stream and stone steps close to the apartment. Your child/children will need to be supervised at all times. I charge a one off payment of £5.00 for the use of the cot. I can provide a camp bed which fits in the kitchen/dining/living room area if the sofa is moved! It is a bit of a squeeze! If you wish to use the camp bed as well please bring a sleeping bag. I charge a one off hire fee of £5.00 for the use of the camp bed. There is a small courtyard by the entrance with table and chairs. Bicycles can be stored in an undercover storage area next to Willow in our shed.
The Lake District is a year round destination and Pinethwaite Lodge is located near Windermere in the heart of the National Park. Outdoor opportunities are endless: walking, cycling climbing, rowing, sailing and kayaking - all within easy reach and Windermere Golf Club is just up the lane. The main tourist attractions of the southern Lake District are all on the doorstep – Windermere with cruise boats, Beatrix Potter attractions, a cinema in Bowness – and a little further away are the Aquarium of the Lakes, Car Museum, Sizergh Castle and Brockhole Visitor Centre. Bowness and Windermere are within a couple of miles, with a wide choice of shops, tea rooms, cafes and restaurants and modern and traditional pubs. The popular centre of Windermere is surrounded by very accessible vantage points that give glorious views of the surrounding area and lake. Orrest Head, a 784’ hill north of the town, provides one of the finest panoramas – as does School Knott – immediately behind Pinethwaite. Another easy climb is Biskey Howe, a 300’ hill east of Bowness, which has quaint narrow streets and a 15th century church. Windermere, the lake, has fourteen islands, including privately owned Belle Isle with its 18th century round house. Further afield, the list of stately homes, steam railways, lakes and tarns, homes of authors and poets, and fine eating places, is almost endless, all set in the deep valleys and foothills of the Lakeland fells, where some of Britain’s best scrambling and mountain walking may be found. Even in today’s busy world, it is possible still to leave cars and people behind and find solitude in many parts of the Lake District. In addition, Pinethwaite is a haven for wildlife: foxes, badgers, roe deer, and a wide range of birds, from buzzards, to long-tailed tits, warblers, fly catchers, heron, tawny owls and many more.

A beautifully unique building in the eastern Lake District. This experience is best described as indoor camping, an adventure! Facilities are basic, but our reviews will tell you how much people have enjoyed it. The bothy is off-grid and has two floors - downstairs a cosy living area with woodburner and cooking facilities; upstairs a sleeping area with view of the night sky. Dogs welcome. ********************************************************************* * FOR ALL NEW BOOKINGS, FIREWOOD ETC IS INCLUDED! * ********************************************************************* Shap Fell Bothy is an iconic and unique building located on Shap Fell, Cumbria, by the A6 road at 1390 ft above sea level. 10 minutes from Junction 39 of the M6 motorway, and 20 minutes from Kendal. The Bothy has been converted to a camping barn from an old telephone repeater station. It is surrounded by moorland and there are no houses or neighbours for miles around. The nearest village with shops is Shap, about 7 miles away. Situated on the main route from John O' Groats to Land's End, the Bothy is suitable for long distance walkers and cyclists, also mountain bikers, ramblers, bird watchers, astronomers, weekend retreats, music practice, or simply for a unique overnight stay. The back gate opens onto public access land, and there are public footpaths and bridleways across the moorland within 100 yards. The Bothy has a roof-window and is an ideal place for star-gazing, as there is an exceptionally low and wide horizon, and low light pollution. Please note: The landscape is bare high moorland, with no trees nearby, and there are power lines a few hundred yards away. The road can be busy in the mornings, but it quietens off by about 9.00 am, and it is exceptionally quiet at night. The property is completely off-grid ie it is not connected to the electricity grid and has no running water. Lighting and low-usage power (eg for phone/laptop-charging) is supplied by wind and solar. Drinking water and water for washing etc are provided (water can be heated on the cooker or stove). There is a washroom in the building, and toilet facilities consist of a Portaloo chemical toilet cubicle outside. Facilities are basic - best described as indoor camping. The accommodation downstairs consists of a main living room with wood-burning stove, tables and chairs; a kitchenette with caravan-type gas cooker (two rings and a grill); a washroom with small sink; and a hallway with coat hooks and space for boots. Upstairs is a lovely sleeping/lounging area, fully carpeted, with roof windows, ambient lighting and low comfortable seating. Heating is provided by a gas heater. Sleeping arrangements: The Bothy accommodates up to 8 people. In the upstairs there are 4 futon mattresses for the first 4 people to sleep on; additional guests can make use of the upstairs seating cushions or bring their own lilos, carrymats etc. Bedding for up to 4 people is available for hire or you can bring your own. Car parking: Ample car parking is provided 100 yards away in large lay-bys. There is a loading/unloading area off the road in front of the Bothy. Pricing: * The basic price is for up to 4 people. Shap Fell Bothy is located just inside the Lake District National Park, on Birkbeck Common, much of which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest because of species diversity and rare upland habitat. The Common is home to one of the few remaining feral herds of Fell Ponies. The only near neighbours are the birds and the sheep. Shap village is 10 minutes away by car. There are shops, the famous Shap Chippy, heated outdoor swimming pool, pubs and bars. The Bothy is located on the main route from John O' Groats to Land's End, and in summer there are often walkers, runners, cyclists, motorbikers, vintage cars and even a unicycle making this epic journey. The Bothy is mentioned briefly in Wainwright's 'Guide to the Eastern Fells' which is essential reading for walkers. There is a remote weather station about 300 yards south of the Bothy, which can be viewed online. The station gives readings for rainfall, wind speed, visibility, humidity and temperature, and has a webcam which takes a picture every 20 minutes. The station can be viewed on the Cumbria County Council website - just search online for 'Shap A6 weather station'.

Tucked away in one of Kendal's hidden yards, dating back to the 18th Century or earlier, our small flat is in the heart of Kirkland, the oldest part of Kendal and its medieval ecclesiastical centre. The bedroom has a comfortable king size bed. The kitchen is equipped with oven, gas hob, microwave oven, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. If you don't fancy cooking there are many pubs, restaurants and takeaways within a few minutes walk. The sitting room and bedroom have internet enabled TVs with Freeview and Netflix. We're sorry, but the stove in the sitting-room does not meet current safety standards and has been de-commissioned. Also, we try and keep the flat low-allergy and dust and fumes from the fire would not help. The shower room is very small, containing shower, small hand basin and WC. If you fancy a long soak in a bath at the end of the day this isn't the place for you!
James used to work in Kendal and lived at the flat during the week, doing a weekly commute from Newcastle. It's an excellent base if you're working temporarily in Kendal or intending to explore the Lake District and the rest of the area, including the beautiful coastline as well as the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The front of the flat looks over Kirkland towards Kendal Castle (visible from the bedroom window in the winter when the trees aren't in leaf!). Please be aware that there is some unavoidable traffic noise from the road. We do have double glazing throughout and a blackout blind in the bedroom but it's impossible to eliminate all traffic noise so if you're used to a very quiet place you'd probably be better finding somewhere out of the town centre. Female dorm which only accommodates females. The rooms is comfy, cosy room in hostel with use of large kitchen, dining room and lounge area. Free Wifi, tea and coffee. This room does not have a private bathroom but individual showers and toilets are located on each floor in the hostel. Bedding is provided on the beds for you but we are old school and you will need to make your own beds. As we are basic accommodation we do not provide towels or toiletries for guests so please bring your own.

We are easy accessible by train as Oxenholme (5 mins train ride from Kendal) is on the London to Glasgow line, the National Express Bus stops at Kendal and also Stagecoach provide excellent public transport to nearby destinations and attractions as well as affordable, unlimited ride, daily and weekly passes. The hostel has many rooms from single private rooms, private rooms for up to 14 guests, en-suite rooms, single sex dorms (male and female) and mixed dorms (for mixed groups). Kendal is a historic market town that has lots to offer visitors and also its residents. As its an old market town we do have weekly outdoor markets on Wednesday and a Saturday that is worth a look around aswell as the indoor market that is open 6 days a week. Most of Kendal's buildings are very old and you will see little yards between most buildings, these yards are interesting and most provide information on why they are here. The Riverside walk next to the river Kent is great for exploring and does have information at various stops. Kendal castle is another good place to visit, even though it is mainly ruins it allows for 360 view of Kendal and also provides information on it province. Kendal museum situated opposite Kendal Train station is free to visit and a great way to learn a little more about Kendal. K Shoe heritage centre which is free to visit and situated on the top floor of K Village outlet. And of course the surrounding area, as Kendal is commonly known as the "Gateway to the Lakes" (reflected in our logo) we are the ideal place to explore the Lake District withe the convenience of all Kendal has to offer. The list could go on but i wouldn't want to spoil your adventure by telling you everything.

The bedroom you will be staying in has just be decorated. Fresh new look. I have put tea & coffee facilities in. I don't have TV licence but there is TV & DVD play provided and DVD so u can relax if you have had a busy day. You also have a settee to sit on and relax. The sofa bed in room can be made up for an extra bed if needed.The bathroom has only a shower. No bath. I am happy for you to use the kitchen as long as you clean up & leave it tidy
I am 5mins walk away from a lovely walk by river of which you can see Kendal castle and you can go up there as well. Close to other country walks as well.My favourite coffee shop is Brew Brothers great for breakfast ! There also other great ones as well. Brewery Art centre has a cinema, theatre, music and lovely restaurant. We have a leisure centre with swimming pool. Kendal Golf course from my home 5min drive. A great climbing wall & bolder room I have been couple of times. Easy access to all of lakes the district

A semi detached self catering bungalow purpose built especially for the disabled guest. The bungalow is semi-detached and sit in one acre of private garden, edged with pine trees and lawns and bordered by a small stream. It is accessed by a beautiful driveway and private parking adjacent.
The bungalow is an excellent stopover or superb holiday venue for both short and long stays for a disabled person alone, or with their family. The cottage has a large wet room with meter wide doors to accommodate wheelchair users.
Only half an hour from Lake Windermere, Lake Ullswater, Yorkshire Dales, Lancaster City and 40 minutes from Carlisle. The Scottish border is only 45 minutes from Tebay. The market town of Kendal and gateway to the lakes is 10 miles south. From the North and South, leave the M6 Motorway at junction 38. Vam passar un cap de setmana meravellós per utilitzar-ho com a base per explorar localment i pels voltants dels llacs. El pis és net, acollidor amb tot el que necessiteu, inclosos els articles per esmorzar. Sens dubte ens tornaria a visitar i si us agraden els animals, podreu veure els pollastres que vagin pel pati del terrisser i els gats podran saludar. A pub with restaurant is situated at the end of the road within easy walking distance ( approx. half a mile) should visitors wish to avoid cooking. Facilities include a modern well equipped kitchen with cooker, dishwasher, fridge, washing machine and tumble dryer available. The open plan lounge area boasts a TV with free Wi a selection of DVDs. There is secure parking for one vehicle with ample space for bike storage. NB PADDLE STAIRS (NB not suitable for children or those with limited mobility, please check photo) lead up to open plan glass balcony bedroom with one double and one single bed size bedding and towels are provided. Short breaks are possible. A small welcome pack is left for each guest to help your day begin well.

    The house is situated on a quiet cul de sac in Kendal, a 10 min walk from the mainline train station and a 20-25 minute walk into town. The bedroom is on the ground floor with an ensuite private shower room attached. Breakfast is provided in our kitchen/diner or in the garden on one of our lovely sunny mornings!
    The house is in a quiet street, and your room is on the ground floor. You have sole use of the attached ensuite bathroom, and there is space in the fridge/freezer for you; especially useful if you are staying for more than a few days and wish to cook. You are welcome to use the open plan kitchen/diner and equipment as needed.
    The house is on a quiet cul de sac, but just 5 minutes walk to asda and a 20 min walk on canal path to town centre. You are welcome to use the garden to relax in if/when summer arrives!
