Whether you are visiting Kauai for a few days, a few weeks, or even a few months, this small and cozy plantation-style 1BR apartment surrounded by tropical vegetation and whimsical statues and art objects is a hidden right in Kap'aa but surrounded by open space. It’s part of a small and friendly community full of Aloha spirit. You can arrive, move in, unpack and unwind -- or head straight to the beach. The Space: The apartment is ideal for two people. It’s compact but cute and comfortable - fully furnished and equipped, and artistically decorated with granite counter top, etched glass mirrors, indirect lighting, and marble floor inserts that will remind you of Italy. The kitchen, living room/dining area are open-plan with plantation shutters on the windows, a ceiling fan and (if you need it) an air conditioner. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, full-size refrigerator, blender, coffee-maker, toaster, and cooking equipment. The bedroom has a ceiling fan and a closet with hangers. The en suite bathroom has a stall shower and art tile on the floor. The Immediate Neighborhood: The apartment community has a unique ambiance. There’s an outdoor table and stone seats near the entrance among the trees where you can relax and drink coffee, or sit and chat with other guests. There’s a gazebo, barbecue facility, and open space for parking in the field adjacent to the property. Several coin-op washers and dryers are on site (no charge for their use). The Kauai bird As you may know, the entire island of Kauai has an abundance of wild roosters and chickens, and they love hanging around near the property. The roosters tend to be quiet in the evening after it gets dark (when they roost), but they are prone to wake up and crow at odd hours during the night. Some people sleep right through it from Day 1, others say they get used to it after 1-2 nights - especially if they have busy, active days and are zonked out by the time they go to bed. We can't do anything about the roosters' body clocks, but we do provide our guests with hermetically sealed packages of earplugs for sleeping! Also running the AC and/or fans during the night reduces the crowing. Some find the chickens and roosters charming (we've seen many of our guests photographing them!) Other people find them annoying. But they are a fact of life in Kauai. We ask our guests not to feed them or encourage them, but they are persistent birds. One reason the wild chickens and roosters are in such abundance in Kauai is that there were 2 hurricanes (in 1982 and 1992) and domesticated fowl escaped and bred. Unlike Maui and other Hawaiian islands, Kauai never let the mongoose (chicken predator) in to the island. Kapa’a: It’s the largest city on the island, although it is a “village” compared with any major mainland city. Kapa’a is centrally located, friendly and picturesque - as noted by recent articles in the Garden Island newspaper, Forbes magazine and the Huffington Post). At a pinch, you could get around without a car – walking, biking, or using the local bus service - but a car is important for real exploration at your own pace. You can walk to many stores, the Kapa’a post office, banks, pharmacies, Big Save supermarket, the beach, and restaurants. Kapa’a has numerous good restaurants & cafes in all directions -- including seafood, burger places, coffee houses, food carts, Thai, Mexican, Czech and Indian restaurants - as well as local Hawaiian cuisine. The Island of Kauai: There is no shortage of guidebooks and good Internet resources describing this piece of Paradise – but you are invited to relax and discover Kauai at your own pace: “Slow down – this ain’t the mainland”. You’ll find a few recommendations in our Guidebook on the website. After you book, we will provide you with a detailed 27-page “Welcome” message to help you plan your visit, including our personal insights into unique Kauai experiences and local secrets. Interaction: Our delightful and energetic manager Milan is assisted by Ida who lives on-site. Both are originally from Slovakia – so if you want to practice your East European language skills, here is your opportunity. With Milan’s and Ida’s help, we have managed these apartments for a number of years. Milan, Ida, or Ida's husband Arnold will greet you when you arrive and show you the apartment, the laundry facilities, the gazebo/barbecue, and the bicycles available for your use. They will be available during your stay by phone or e-mail to answer any questions. Otherwise you will have the place entirely to yourself. We don’t disturb you (unless you have a problem), and we don’t put a chocolate on your pillow. Access: Kapa’a is about 8 miles north of Lihu’e airport. After you have made your reservation, we will give you specific directions for finding this apartment since it’s well hidden. For days when you want to sightsee, you can drive easily to the north and south shores of Kauai. When you just want to relax, swim, or body-surf, you can walk to the closest beach (Waipouli Beach Park) which is a beautiful crescent-shaped stretch of sand and good for swimming since it's protected by an offshore reef. Fuji Beach - also known as "Baby Beach" has shallow calm water and tidepools - great for young children to splash in. Or you can drive a short distance to Lydgate Park or Kealia Beach. Those are good nearby eastside beaches. But be careful -- Kauai is not the languid Caribbean - there are strong waves and potential rip tides at some beaches. Don’t miss the Kapa’a bike path – Ke Ala Hele Makalae, the “The Path that Goes by the Coast” – there is a great 5-minute video on the web (hint: search Vimeo….). We have a selection of bikes available (see photo) that you can borrow and ride - at your own risk - for the entire 8-mile round trip to the far end of the paved path and back. You can also walk, jog or run on the path. We can even arrange to rent you a kayak at a nominal cost for a trip on the Wailua River. Enjoy the experience of staying in Kapa’a, close to everything - but away from it all! The Price In addition to the accommodation charge and the cleaning fee, a 14.96% state and county tax is applicable, comprised of the General Excise Tax (GET) and the Transient Accommodation Tax (TAT). That tax is payable no matter where you stay in Kauai. Unlike many of the hotels and resorts, we have no “amenity fees,” no resort fees, no wi-fi fees, no “energy” fees, no fees for use of the bikes, no parking fees, no fees for using the laundry machines – no kidding.   The fine print: • Check-in after 3:00 pm, check-out by 11:00 am. Depending on our other bookings, we may be able to offer a late checkout for a small fee, but you will need to arrange that with us in advance. And please: • No smoking anywhere in the apartment or within 20 feet of it! • Follow local Hawaiian custom and remove your shoes when inside the apartment. Otherwise Kauai's famous red dirt will follow you in! • Be sure to turn off the AC, fans, stove, burners, and coffee maker when you are not in the apartment -- and also when you check out. • No parties or loud noise -- except near the gazebo at the far end of the grounds. • Don’t hang beach towels, swimsuits or other personal items on the railings outside your apartment. • Don't leave your door open for long - mosquitoes will likely find their way in if you do. • Don't feed or encourage the wild chickens and roosters! • Don't let any of the cats inside your apartment. You may love the kitties, but be considerate of guests who stay after you (many people are allergic to cats). • We provide bikes for your use at no charge (basic beach cruisers that show signs of wear including some rust on the metal parts), and you use them at your own risk. • Notify our on-site team immediately if something needs fixing.

It’s part of a small and friendly residential community full of Aloha spirit. You can arrive, move in, unpack and unwind -- or head straight to the beach. The Space: This is not a “condo-hotel” room. It’s a self-contained apartment with a high ceiling and a complete kitchen. It’s ideal for two people. It’s fully furnished and equipped and artistically decorated with granite counter tops, etched glass, mirrors, indirect lighting, and marble floor inserts that will remind you of Italy. The kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave and full-size refrigerator. The bed is a king -size bed. There are ceiling fans in the living/sleeping area and the kitchen, and – for hot tropical days and nights – air conditioning. The bathroom has a stall shower. The Immediate Neighborhood: The apartment community has a unique ambiance. There’s an outdoor table and stone seats among the trees near the entrance, where you can relax, drink coffee, or sit and chat with other guests. We're happy to share this beachfront, walk-out condo with you! It's on the edge of "Old Town" Kapaa, an easy walk to restaurants, shops, and the best shave ice on the island! Our condo has a gorgeous ocean view, my own fresh orchids, and it's perfectly located for trade wind breezes and beautiful sunrises. Relax on the lanai, walk a few steps to swim or snorkel, or go for a walk on our famous coastal path! Taxes/fees included in price!
The condo is all yours, with plenty of closet and dresser space. The kitchen is set up for people who want to do their own cooking, with pots & pans, dishes, microwave, etc... Even a dishwasher. If you don't feel like cooking, visit the Olympic Cafe or Ono Family Restaurant, both are a short walk away. The Murphy bed in the living room is so comfortable! And Wifi is included, so you can stay connected (if you want to!). Decor is "Understated Tropical"; you know you're in Hawaii, but we don't overdo it! Resort fees and taxes are already figured into the price.
Kapaa is an old plantation town, with quaint wooden buildings that go back to the days of sugar cane and pineapple. There are plenty of restaurants and some really stupendous food trucks nearby. It is a busy little place, but when you walk back to the Pono Kai, you'll be on the beach, with lush greenery and tropical flowers all around you, and all will be peaceful. The grounds of Pono Kai include lovely tropical landscaping, a koi pond, and lawn games like horse shoes and a putting green.

Here, you’re more than a guest – you’re ohana (family). Located only three miles from the Lihue Airport, Kauai Beach Villas is less than an hour from Princeville and Poipu. It is centrally located, very close to airport and Costco. All the hotel facilities are available to the guests. You’ll find a few recommendations in our Guidebook on the website. After you book, we will provide you with a detailed 27-page “Welcome” message to help you plan your visit, including our personal insights into unique Kauai experiences and local secrets. “Slow down – this ain’t the mainland”. Interaction: Our delightful and energetic manager Milan is assisted by Ida who lives on-site. Both are from Slovakia – so if you want to practice your East European language skills, here is your opportunity. With Milan’s and Ida’s help we have managed these apartments for many years. Either Ida or Milan will greet you when you arrive and show you the apartment and the surroundings, and will be available during your stay to answer any questions. Otherwise you will have the place entirely to yourself. We won’t disturb you (unless you have a problem), and we don’t put a chocolate on your pillow. Access: Kapa’a is about 8 miles north of Lihu’e airport. After you have made your reservation, we will give you specific directions for finding this apartment since it’s well hidden. Kapa’a is centrally located, and you can drive almost anywhere – to the north shore, south shore, waterfalls, Waimea Canyon – in just about an hour or less. When you just want to relax, swim, or body-surf, you can walk 5-8 minutes to the closest beach (Kapa’a Beach Park) which is a beautiful crescent-shaped stretch of sand and good for swimming since it's protected by an offshore reef. Fuji Beach - also known as "Baby Beach" has shallow calm water and tidepools - great for young children to splash in. Or you can drive a short distance to Lydgate Park or Kealia Beach. Those are all really good nearby eastside beaches. But be careful -- Kauai is not the languid Caribbean - there are strong waves and potential rip tides at some beaches. One of Kauai’s greatest attractions is a 2-block walk from the apartment – the Kapa’a walk/bike path (Ke Ala Hele Makalae, the “The Path that Goes by the Coast”) – and it’s free!! There is a great 5-minute video about it on the web (hint: search Vimeo….). We have a collection of bikes available for your use (see photo). You can ride for the entire 8-mile round trip from the Kapa’a small boat harbor to the far end of the paved path and back. Our on-site managers can provide information about kayaking alternatives. The Wailua River is nearby and a popular kayaking location. During the summer there are guided kayak tours along the dramatic Napali Coast on the north shore. Enjoy the experience of staying in Kapa’a, close to everything - but away from it all! The Price In addition to the accommodation charge and the cleaning fee, a 14.96% state and county tax is applicable, comprised of the General Excise Tax (GET) and the Transient Accommodation Tax (TAT). That tax is payable no matter where you stay in Kauai. Unlike many of the hotels and resorts, we have no “amenity fees,” no resort fees, no wi-fi fees, no “energy” fees, no fees for use of the bikes, no parking fees, no fees for using the laundry machines – no kidding.   The fine print: • Check-in after 3:00 pm, check-out by 11:00 am. Depending on our other bookings, we may be able to offer a late checkout for a small fee, but you will need to arrange that with us in advance. And please: • No smoking anywhere in the apartment or within 20 feet of it! • Follow local Hawaiian custom and remove your shoes when inside the apartment. Otherwise Kauai's famous red dirt will follow you in! • Be sure to turn off the AC, fans, stove, burners, and coffee maker when you are not in the apartment -- and also when you check out. • No parties or loud noise -- except near the gazebo at the far end of the grounds. • Don’t hang beach towels, swimsuits or other personal items on the railings outside your apartment. • Don't leave your door open for long - mosquitoes will likely find their way in if you do. • Don't feed or encourage the wild chickens and roosters! • Don't let any of the cats inside your apartment. You may love the kitties, but be considerate of guests who stay after you (many people are allergic to cats). • We provide bikes for your use at no charge (basic beach cruisers that show signs of wear including some rust on the metal parts), and you use them at your own risk. • Notify our on-site team immediately if something needs fixing.

Unit #345 is a top floor, corner, direct oceanfront unit. It was the first unit selected for purchase out of all others when the complex was purchased and redone in early 2005. So, needless to say, one of the most desired units in the entire complex!! My place is close to public transport, the city center, and the airport. Enjoy your morning coffee on the lanai and see the distant ocean views. Enjoy a walk on the Princeville Golf Course path which is located right outside of the complex. Or head to the many beautiful beaches on the North Shore! You're right in the heart of the best beaches, hiking, and dining!
    The studio has a kitchenette (small fridge & freezer, single burner with frying pan and saucepan, toaster, coffee maker). I also supply the unit with utensils to use at the BBQ at the pool area. Has large TV with DVD player. I also provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for the shower. Comes also with linens, towels, and hair dryer. There is no A/C in the unit and it can warm up during the summer months, but cools down in the night.
    Princeville has it all! You have several nearby beaches (walking, biking, or car). There are some of the best restaurants, golfing, hiking, horseback riding, ziplining, etc. on the island! I will provide a book that will show you what there is to do not only in Princeville, but on the whole island.

    In the midst of North Shore beaches and sights. Convenient shopping. 10 min trail to beach. New, private, tastefully furnished, high ceilings, lots of light & breezes. Kitchenette, Lanai w sunset views, large bath w tub, queen bed, living room, TV, stereo and wifi. A low density complex, very local residents. Lots of beach gear for your use including a surfboard!
    On the property, you can walk to the ocean bluff or stroll on the golf course to watch the sunset or the nesting/mating albatross 8' from the backyard door. There is also a swimming pool on the property. Very independent unit, with all the privacy and newest accoutrements. Stylin' decor.
    The location is quiet and private and you may feel as if you are a local rather than a visiting guest. Princeville is located between all the best beaches on the Island. The North Shore is the best spot to embark on hikes, go surfing or paddle boarding. The restaurants and nitelife, although not what its known for, are sufficient for a few super evenings.

  • Excel·lent ubicació; molt tranquil i tranquil. Els allotjaments estaven bé per a tres persones grans (jo i les meves dues adolescents). Seria ajustat per a quatre, llevat que dos eren nens petits, ja que hi havia un llit doble (o era una reina?) I un sofà-llit que seria petit per a dos adults. Bany enorme; petita cuina americana. No vulgueu fer molta cuina, ja que hi ha un petit espai de l’amplada de l’armari (3,5 peus d'amplada) que conté un lavabo, una nevera (gran quantitat de dormitoris, diria jo), un petit microones i algunes olles i paelles i estris. A la sala d'estar hi havia una placa de inducció, una torradora, una cafetera (als prestatges). No hi ha cap taula interior, sinó una taula coberta de vidre al pati i tres cadires. Només vam cuinar pasta i ous remenats, així que va funcionar per a nosaltres, però si busqueu una bona cuina, mireu en altres llocs. L’armari estava emmagatzemat amb tovalloles, equip de busseig i hi havia una taula de surf (al dormitori). Les habitacions es van tancar amb portes corredisses per a una bona privadesa, i hi ha ventiladors de sostre i finestres que mantenen les coses bé. La decoració era agradable i les meves noies gaudien de jugar a escacs al tauler d’escacs rus. El bany tenia els subministraments adequats, com ara sabó, xampú, esprai per insectes, protecció solar i un assecador de cabells. El wifi era bo i hi havia un televisor intel·ligent; hem utilitzat aplicacions per veure pel·lícules a Amazon. Sense rentadora ni assecador, i els dies que vam quedar allà estaven tan humits que la roba de rentat a mà no es va assecar bé, però això no és culpa dels allotjaments ni del propietari. Al principi es va sorprendre de la petita mida de la cuina, però en general era un lloc agradable per allotjar-se. La platja de Sealodge és a 15 minuts a peu i val la pena. M'encanta la costa nord de Kauai i recomanaria aquest lloc a una parella o família petita que no tingués intenció de cuinar.

Every wednesday from 3pm-5pm, off Kukui street there is a great farmers market with local produce. There are two great restaurants located just below the apartment and a food truck that is in the parking lot 6 days a week. Safeway, and Long's shopping center is located within walking distance as well as various other business's.

Dine out at one of several restaurants in easy walking distance. Or choose to eat in, grilling on one of the oceanfront BBQs or preparing a light meal in your kitchenette (microwave, frig, no stove). Walk on the soft sand beach just steps from your condo, enjoy a swim in the oceanfront pool, soak in the jet spa, and make new friends over drinks and pupus at Islander’s popular poolside Tiki Bar. It’s no wonder vacationing guests keep returning to this private garden paradise! Islander on the Beach is located behind the Coconut Marketplace, where there are shops and eateries for you to enjoy! Princeville is perched above legendary Hanalei Bay and has its own shopping center complete with a supermarket, post office, yoga studio, cafe, galleries, shops and restaurants.   • Un lloc fantàstic per a quedar-se una parella tot visitant l’illa! Molts serveis útils per als viatgers. Vam utilitzar el refrigerador proporcionat per posar refrigeris mentre conduïm per Kauai. No he tingut l'oportunitat d'utilitzar la piscina ja que estàvem tan ocupats explorant. El barri és molt agradable i tranquil. Genial per a una bona passejada matinal! Tornarem aviat :)

    Beautiful apartment with screened lanai (145 sq ft). Two blocks to the beach & the dramatic oceanside walk/bike path. In town but a world away! Secluded but near many restaurants and stores. A Hawaiian experience with distinctive features.
    The Space Whether you are visiting Kauai for a few days, a few weeks, or even a few months, this charming renovated apartment surrounded by tropical vegetation and whimsical statues and art objects will quickly make you feel settled and “at home'. It's part of a small and friendly community full of Aloha spirit. You can arrive, move in, unpack and unwind -- or head straight to the beach. The Space: The apartment is ideal for two people. It's very spacious with a separate screened lanai (sitting room) as well as an open-plan living/dining area & kitchen. It's fully furnished and equipped, and artistically decorated with Hawaiian art, granite counter top, etched glass mirrors, indirect lighting, and marble floor inserts that will remind you of Italy. The kitchen, living/dining area are open-plan with plantation shutters on the windows, two desk top fans and (if you need it) an air conditioner in the bedroom. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, full-size refrigerator, blender, coffee-maker, toaster, and cooking equipment. The bedroom has a queen-size bed, a floor fan, storage drawers beneath the bed, and a mirrored closet. Off the bedroom is a private screened-in lanai (porch) - sitting room - with comfy chairs to relax in. The en suite bathroom has a walk-in stall shower and designer tiles on the walls and floor. The Immediate Neighborhood: The apartment community has a unique vibe. There's an outdoor table and stone seats near the entrance among the trees. There's a gazebo, barbecue facility, and open space in the field adjacent to the property. Several washers and dryers are on site (no charge). There's plenty of off-street parking. The Kauai bird As you may know, the entire island of Kauai has an abundance of wild roosters and chickens, and they love hanging around near the property. The roosters tend to be quiet in the evening after it gets dark (when they roost), but they are prone to wake up and crow at odd hours during the night. Some people sleep right through it from Day 1, others say they get used to it after 1-2 nights - especially if they have busy, active days and are zonked out by the time they go to bed. We can't do anything about the roosters' body clocks, but we do provide our guests with hermetically sealed packages of earplugs for sleeping! Also running the AC and/or fans during the night helps to block out the crowing sound. Some find the chickens and roosters charming (we've seen many of our guests photographing them!) Other people find them annoying. But they are a fact of life in Kauai. We ask our guests not to feed them or encourage them, but they are persistent birds. One reason the wild chickens and roosters are in such abundance in Kauai is that there were 2 hurricanes (in 1982 and 1992) and domesticated fowl escaped and bred. Unlike Maui and other Hawaiian islands, Kauai never let the mongoose (chicken predator) in to the island. Kapa'a: It's the largest city on the island, although it is a “village" compared with any major mainland city. Kapa'a is centrally located, friendly and picturesque - as noted by recent articles in the Garden Island newspaper, Forbes magazine and the Huffington Post. At a pinch, you could get around without a car – walking, biking, or using the local bus service – but a car is important for real exploration at your own pace. You can walk to many stores, the Kapa'a post office, banks, pharmacies, Big Save supermarket, the beach, and restaurants. Kapa'a has numerous fine dining, specialty and ethnic restaurants & cafes in all directions -- including seafood, burger places, coffee houses, food carts, Thai, Japanese, Mexican, Czech and Indian restaurants - as well as local Hawaiian cuisine. The Island of Kauai: There is no shortage of guidebooks and good Internet resources describing this piece of Paradise – but you are invited to relax and discover Kauai at your own pace: “Slow down – this ain’t the mainland”. You’ll find a few recommendations in our Guidebook on the website. After you book, we will provide you with a detailed 27-page “Welcome” message to help you plan your visit, including our personal insights into unique Kauai experiences and local secrets. Interaction: Our delightful and energetic manager Milan is assisted by Ida who lives on-site. Both are originally from Slovakia – so if you want to practice your East European language skills, here is your opportunity. With Milan's and Ida's help we have managed this apartment for many years. One of them will greet you when you arrive and show you the apartment, the laundry facilities, the gazebo/barbecue, and the bicycles available for your use on the oceanside bike path. They will be available - as I will - during your stay by phone or e-mail to answer any questions. Otherwise you will have the place entirely to yourself. We don't disturb you (unless you have a problem), and we don't put a chocolate on your pillow. Access: Kapa'a is about 8 miles north of Lihu'e airport. After you have made your reservation, we will give you specific directions for finding this apartment since it's well hidden, with no road signs. Although the apartment community is in a commercial area in the middle of town, it's surrounded by tropical foliage and an open rural area at the rear with a view of Nonou (Sleeping GIant). For days when you want to sightsee, you can drive easily to the north and south shores of Kauai. When you just want to relax, swim, or body-surf, you can walk to the closest beach (Kapa'a Beach Park) which is a beautiful crescent-shaped stretch of sand and good for swimming most of the time since it's protected by an offshore reef. Fuji Beach - also known as "Baby Beach" has shallow calm water and tidepools - great for young children to splash in. Or you can drive a short distance to Lydgate Park or - if you are a surfer - Kealia Beach. Those are good nearby eastside beaches. But be careful -- Kauai is not the languid Caribbean - there are strong waves and potential rip tides at some beaches. Whatever you do, don't miss the Kapa'a walk/bike path – Ke Ala Hele Makalae, the “The Path that Goes by the Coast". The path is 5 minutes from the apartment, and we have a selection of bikes available (see photo) that you can borrow and ride - at your own risk - for the entire 8-mile round trip to the far end of the paved path and back. They are "beach cruisers" - not fancy, and only 1-2 gears - but they are comfortable. The terrain is reasonably level - you don't need a 21-speed bike. Enjoy the experience of staying in Kapa'a, close to everything - but away from it all! The Price In addition to the accommodation charge and the cleaning fee, a 14.96% state and county tax is applicable, comprised of the General Excise Tax (GET) and the Transient Accommodation Tax (TAT). That tax is payable no matter where you stay in Kauai. Unlike many of the hotels and resorts, we have no “amenity fees,” no resort fees, no wi-fi fees, no “energy” fees, no fees for use of the bikes, no parking fees, no fees for using the laundry machines – no kidding.   The fine print: • Check-in after 3:00 pm, check-out by 11:00 am. Depending on our other bookings, we may be able to offer a late checkout for a small fee, but you will need to arrange that with us in advance. And please: • No smoking anywhere in the apartment or within 20 feet of it! • Follow local Hawaiian custom and remove your shoes when inside the apartment. Otherwise Kauai's famous red dirt will follow you in! • Be sure to turn off the AC, fans, stove, burners, and coffee maker when you are not in the apartment -- and also when you check out. • No parties or loud noise -- except near the gazebo at the far end of the grounds. • Don’t hang beach towels, swimsuits or other personal items on the railings outside your apartment. • Don't leave your door open for long - mosquitoes will likely find their way in if you do. • Don't feed or encourage the wild chickens and roosters! • Don't let any of the cats inside your apartment. You may love the kitties, but be considerate of guests who stay after you (many people are allergic to cats). • We provide bikes for your use at no charge (basic beach cruisers that show signs of wear including some rust on the metal parts), and you use them at your own risk. • Notify our on-site team immediately if something needs fixing.
