“It is a 10-15 minute drive from the house and is an amazing day out, suitable for the whole family. The historic seat of the Clan McLeod, visitors can look around ten different buildings dating from 1200 to the 1850's. Tickets for the Castle and Gardens are £13 for adults and £9 for children. The castle has a good collection of beautiful paintings, heirlooms, including the legendary Fairy Flag and interesting artefacts including historic weapons. The formal gardens are fabulous.”

“There’s a park with beautiful garden s at Clan Donald. You have you pay an entrance fee, which also gets you into the museum. It’s great if you’re interested in highland history. You can also walk through the woods around the Clan within it paying a fee. The closest access from here is about 1 mile from here where where the rad bends left at a beach. It’s signposted. Great for running too. ”

“This is my favourite place (sshhh, don't tell everyone!). It's a circular walk on a fairly easy path with great views and at the end of the trail are the ruins of an abandoned village. It's never very busy (unlike the Fairy Pools and Old Man of Storr). It's often sheltered here and misses the worst of the weather. Turn right out of the driveway and after 0.5 miles or 1km turn left. After 5 miles you'll see the sign on the left. Take the track and there is a car park at the end. Park here, walk and enjoy the experience. Allow 2 hours. (I don't know why the address on the marker shows as East Kilbride, it's not! DO NOT use this post code, it is incorrect).”
