In a peaceful, charming Devon hamlet, a converted bakery near to a 15th Century thatched cottage, with lovely views. Corona Virus update: After the Government's advice issued on the 23rd of March 2020 about travel bans and self-isolation at home, we are sadly not taking any bookings for the foreseeable future. We hope this is all as short-lived as possible and we hope to open as soon as it is permitted.
The room was last used as a bakery in the 1950s and still has much of the original bread oven. Recently converted with a modern shower room. Kitchenette with kettle, toaster and small refrigerator. Cooking facilities of microwave and fast induction hob. There is a very comfortable kingsize bed and a 4ft sofa bed for an adult or two small children. An optional cosy bunk bed (full length) above the old oven at the back of the Bakery can serve as an extra bed. Travel cot also available. Breakfast: Breakfast is provided for you in the Bakery for you to eat at your own leisure. This includes local free range eggs, bread, brioches, muesli and cereal, yoghurt, fruit and a selection of jams and honey. We also provide teas, coffee, milk and fruit juice. Use of washing machine, dryer and larger fridge/freezer in laundry outhouse.
We are 8 miles from Exeter and 10 miles from Moretonhampstead, "The Gateway to the Moor". There are many excellent walks nearby and Haldon Forest is 8 minutes away with its many cycle tracks. There is a choice of excellent pubs locally. 9 minutes from the A38 and 12 minutes from the A30.

Luxurious and romantic, spacious holiday cottage in South Devon's rolling countryside. Excellent links to Exeter (15 miles) Dartmoor (8 miles) and the coast (4 miles) If you are looking for a quiet and romantic break, then really don’t look any further. If you’re looking for long country walks and great country pubs. We have them. Plus easy reach of the Dartmoor National Park, beautiful sandy beaches and Torquay marina.
Daisy Wheels has been converted from an old barn into a luxurious holiday cottage. The historical 'daisy wheels' have been preserved in the master bedroom and are Listed as Grade 2 with English Heritage. We have sensitively developed this barn into a spacious 1 bedroom cottage, complete with a fully fitted kitchen: integrated fridge (and freezer compartment), dishwasher, oven, microwave and a coffee machine with complimentary coffee capsules. The open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room has a woodburner with a first pack of complimentary logs and kindling for you to enjoy a cosy evening in. Don’t worry if you run out as you can purchase an extra bundle of logs from us for £3. Upstairs, the bespoke staircase rises to the huge master en suite bedroom with our humongous copper bath. Be patient when filling the bath, as it is so big- it can take 15 mins to fill! Whilst waiting, the Super King sized four poster is a perfect spot to sit and enjoy the country views. We have a dressing table, with hair drier and some fantastic bed side tables, which we made from some milk churns. The en suite shower room has a larger walk in shower with a 12 inch shower head and of course a copper basin which was once a jam making pot in France, before we adapted it be used as a basin. The house which dates back to the late 13th Century sits within just over 2 acres of private grounds, which our guests are more than welcome to walk over and enjoy the paddocks, cider orchard and rocky outcrops. The view from the top of the hill is fantastic.
We live in a very peaceful and quite rural hamlet in South Devon, yet with easy access to the road networks. Two very good pubs are within walking distances, The Royal Oak in 0.9 miles and The Elizabethan in 1.8 miles. There are plenty of enjoyable walks in the area, our favourite being along a stream, through the woodland to The Elizabethan pub.

The main studio is a 12x12ft living and sleeping area, and has a chic leather sofa; the solid wooden bed opens out into 2 full size singles that can be arranged at level height close together to create a king size sleeping space or can be set further apart, and which can also be used for lounging in the day. The separate kitchen area has a great Tepenyaki grill, mini oven, grill, hob, a steamer, a slow cooker, soup maker, microwave, soya milk maker, toaster, kettle, cafetière etc. There’s an extendable dining or working table, a good selection of DVDs for adults and children; interesting art, an occasional table, clothes hanging space, drawers, interesting books, local maps and guide books, good board games, chess etc. We also provide additional sleeping options and a toy box for younger guests as required. The Double Locks is our closest, lovely pub on the river - great for lunch, local ales (and occasional suppers - check ahead). Exeter Picturehouse is our fantastic local art house cinema where you can recline on a velvet sofa with a beer and interesting snacks; Go Ape in Haldon Forest, just around the corner from us, will have you flying through the tree canopy, and the hiking and bike hire in Haldon Forest and the paddle board or kayak hire along the River Exe all mark only the start of wonderful things to do in just minutes from the Goose House. Do please message me on here for more ideas of things to do which may be more suited to your own personal tastes. There is so much more! Ours is a relatively modern house in this lovely village. Built on the side of the hill, there are steps up to the front door & the guest suite is at this level, with its own private entrance. There are trees all around & lots of birdsong in the morning.
The guest room has its own entrance door directly into the bedroom and the door to the main part of the house will be locked during your stay, so you can be completely private. There is a seating area with 2 chairs & coffee table. We have a foldable laptop table if you want to work, TV if you want to relax & DAB radio if you want to chill. The bathroom is en-suite with a large, powerful shower.
Lovely village with a mixture of newer & older properties. The village is compact, set on both sides of a valley, itself close to the river Teign valley. There are several other small villages nearby all individual in character. Most have a pub!

A lovely cottage with a newly fitted kitchen, situated in the heart of the friendly ancient wool town of Chudleigh. There are two bedrooms - one with a King size bed, the other a Queen size. The kitchen and bathroom are both recently fully refurbished. There are two high quality Neff electric ovens, gas hob, 2 fridges and a freezer. There is a work space in the larger bedroom. The shops and pubs are a very short walk away. Gas central heating.
The first time I ever walked into the property it just felt like home, and that is the same reaction which many others have had. The front room is the living room with soft seating and TV. There is a Chromecast attached to the TV so you can stream. It is this living room which can also double as the 5th person's bedroom. One of the sofas is a daybed which flattens into a single bed. Alternatively we can provide an inflatable mattress. There is a dining table and 6 chairs. The kitchen was recently refitted by the previous owner who is a kitchen fitter by trade. Everything is to a high standard and there is plenty of storage space: every single cupboard and drawer in the entire property is soft close! There are two electric Neff ovens, gas hob, fridge and fridge freezer, plus all the pots, pans, tins, sharp knives, cutlery, plates and glasses that you might need and full size dishwasher. There is a clothes washing machine in the downstairs WC. Upstairs there are the two bedrooms and a bathroom. The larger room has a King size bed and there is also a long work-space. There is plenty of hanging space as well as drawers. The second bedroom has a Queen size bed and plenty of hanging and storage space as well as an illuminated mirror and space for beautification. The bathroom is newly refurbished and has a large bath with an electric shower over it. There are battery operated smoke as well as carbon monoxide detectors and the electrical wiring was updated in July 2019 to match the most recent requirements. All circuits throughout the property are individually RCD protected. There is free high speed WiFi which covers the whole property.
The property is within Old Tannery Mews which is a lovely little cul-de-sac - a bit of a hidden gem. Chudleigh is a small town and the locals are friendly. There is a surprising array of shops in the town centre which is less than 2 minutes walk away. The CoOp is one of the best in the whole area. The DIY shop is run by Andy who seems to have crammed an entire B&Q worth of goods into his shop. Do not try and find what you want though - just ask him and he'll either hand it straight to you or tell you how quickly he can have it in stock! The launderette is run by Alice. There are coin operated washers and dryers, but Alice is happy to provide service washes (wash, dry and fold a bag of dirties) as well as ironing. If you're staying at this property she'll give you a 10% discount off all her services. There are hair dressers, beauty and nail salons and a wellness centre. There are a couple of cafes, a pet shop, charity shops and other quirky shops you'd never find in larger towns and cities. The best pub is the Bishop Lacy. The restaurant and takeaway food is excellent. The landlord and head chef is Rob - he is a self confessed curry geek and makes them from the raw ingredients. People come to Chudleigh for these alone! The lovely landlady is called Wendy, although she prefers "Ma Bish". Ask her about the witches... There are two play parks and an outdoor pool within a short walking distance. If you want to stay a little longer, Chudleigh boasts 3 estate agents!!

My place is a self-catering cottage, ideal for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. Also, great for walkers and cyclists and for visiting Exeter, the lovely Exe Estuary and the South Devon coast. A great village location with shop and pub 50 yards away, with easy access to the A38/A380. The cottage ideally suited to 2 or 3 people.

Spacious room with attractive King size sleigh bed & brand new marble bathroom, fully re-furbished lockable room. Large country house - lots of space for all, making for a comfortable and more private stay. 4.5 miles from the city centre & 12 minutes drive to Exeter's beautiful quayside. Easy & quick access to A38, A30 & M5 motorway. Great base for Exeter/Dartmoor & coast also great for business travellers with easy access to surrounding business parks -one mile up the road from the Devon Hotel.
Large and warm dual aspect double room in Peamore House. Newly refurbished to a high standard with beautiful Carrara marble ensuite bathroom.
I love Peamore House and the Peamore Estate - it is a semi- rural location set in a small parkland of ancient Oak Trees, Pheasants and Rabbits often with herds of Cows grazing right next to the house. Even though it is rural it is just about 10 minutes to central Exeter. This stately home is now divided into three dwellings with No.1 being the largest and grandest dwelling - retaining the Ballroom and sweeping Cantilevered staircase. The house has a 1000 years of history and dates back to Anglo Saxon times, is in the Doomsday Book had a revival in Tudor times where it was owned by the Duke of Suffolk ( Lady Jane Greys father) and subsequently was bought by Lord Kekewich in the 1700’s whose family remained right up until 1948. The house was remodelled by Nash and Repton in the 1820’s.

Corona update - please be assured the cottage is very isolated so you can choose not to see anybody if you want to and still enjoy the countryside. We are currently open to monthly bookings, just get in touch to discuss. A luxury, thatched Devon bolt-hole on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park. Recently renovated to a very high standard, this two person cottage oozes character and charm, while being a true luxury getaway. Situated in the Teign Valley, there are great walks from the doorstep.
This 17th Century, listed thatched cottage is an escape-to-the-country dream. Upstairs is stunning bedroom, with en-suite bathroom with built-in wadrobes, bath and separate shower. Perfect for lazing in bed and watching telly on a Sunday morning. The Scandi inspired sitting room has a comfy sofa for evenings in front of the wood burner, with big HD TV included. The kitchen has a range cooker, belfast sink and beautiful handmade units - equipped to cook everything from a delicious dinner to a Sunday roast. Then through to the dining room, which has huge oak framed windows, with views across the valley and two comfy chairs to gaze at the view or watch telly on a sunny day. The dining room table seats 4, so if you have booked neighbouring Rose Cottage with friends everyone can get together to eat. Out the door there are two terraces to soak up the sun and views.
There are 6 good pubs within a five minute drive of the cottage and the Teign Valley is well known for it's excellent walks through woods and across hillsides. Wisteria Lodge has been created to give our guests a private, peaceful, cosy stay with a rustic feeling of getting away from it all. There are stunning views of Dartmoor from your decking. Perfect for walks on the Moor, the wonderful Beaches or just peacefully watching your favourite movies. I also want to reasure you that as the impact of the COVID 19 begins to really take hold, I have increased surface sanitisation/cleaning and endeavour to stay up to date via the Government website.
You are situated in a sheltered sunny valley where you can look down on the birds of prey flying around and the lambs chasing each other. It is so very peaceful and relaxing sat on the decking soaking up the view. It is great to get away from it all but in case of rainy days, there is also a wall mounted TV which has no areal, only TV via the internet so you can enjoy net flicks/amazon prime etc. Occasionally we can have a poor signal due to being so rural, but most of the time it works fine! There is WIFI in the Log Cabin. The log cabin is a 10minute walk outside the village and quite rural. There is a 10% discount if you book for a week and 20% discount if you stay for a month. Occasionally the hot tub will need to be cleaned or serviced or may not be able to be used but this is very rare.
Bridford is small village in the scenic Teign Valley in South Devon, we are situated just outside it in a rural location. It is a quiet and peaceful area, where you can hear the birds echoing along the valley and enjoy watching the lambs bounce around the surrounding fields. If you are looking forward to a relaxing quiet time away then this is the property for you. We are on the outskirts of Dartmoor National Park which is a hikers paradise with stunning Tors and rugged countryside. The Haldon Forest Park is only 3 miles from Bridford, where you can enjoy activities such as Go Ape Tree Top Adventure, off road cycle trails, horse riding, Segway Tours and much more set in 3500 acres of woodland. Within 20 minutes you can reach the beach in Teignmouth and Shaldon too. Approx 30 minutes away is Torbay. A lot of activities to keep the children occupied such as: Paignton Zoo, Living Coasts, Kents Cavern, Babbacombe Model Village and so much more. A fantastic place to stay whether it’s the hot summer evenings or cold frosty evenings sat in front of the open fire. If you love walks and the Great outdoors, there is plenty to choose from in the area. Our local pub 'The Bridford Arms' does great food and is within walking distance (up hill on the way there but coming home is easy!). There are numerous other lovely pubs within a 5 minute drive. It is a 15 minute drive to Exeter and the A30/A38. We are just above the beautiful river Teign (great for wild swimming) and surrounded by wonderful walks across Dartmoor. Dawlish Warren, a 25-minute drive, has sand dunes, swimming, moorings and the usual seaside treats, whilst Exmouth, 40 minutes away, has a long sandy beach with many amenities and is popular with kitesurfers and for rock pooling too. There are several National Trust properties within a short distance from the house too. A 5 minute drive away is the Village of Christow which has tennis courts where you can pay by the hour or join for the week, a well maintained and equipped play park with a basketball court and zip wire and there is also a skate park. A short drive or longer bike ride away are the stunning Kennick, Trenchford and Tottiford reservoirs which offer beautiful scenery and fabulous walks or the Teign Valley Golf Club for a round of golf. Explore the lovely coastal towns and villages of the South Hams or the stunning surfing beaches of North Devon and Cornwall, or stick closer by and take one of many walks from the house which loop back to the village with stunning views of the Teign Valley.
