Rowanside in Longformacus is a picturesque and homely country retreat. Sleeping just four, plus a cot if required, the cottage consists of an open-plan sitting room (with log burner) kitchen and dining room, then two bedrooms (one double, one small twin) and a shower-room. Dogs, cats and children are welcome - but no pets on furniture or beds. Rowanside comes with WiFi and satellite TV. The kitchen is well equipped and logs are available for all guests. A small welcome basket is provided for all guests and the sheets have a 200 thread count. Books and games are on hand. Built to house workers from the local big house and is listed for its historical and architectural value. Rowanside is a perfect retreat with the wild Scottish borderlands on your doorstep. It is an unusual delight. The house website can be (EMAIL HIDDEN) Please note that the bedrooms are quite small so although there are chest of drawers, there is no wardrobe. Also the twin room is quite cozy for two adults - although me and my friends have used it many a time!

  • Vam tenir una estada realment estupenda en Rowanside, el que és un lloc preciós! Estimat molts, molts aspectes de la cabana - ben equipat amb mobles atractius, interessants i, sovint extravagant i decoració; estufa era fantàstic i ens va mantenir acollidor i va ser genial tenir l'habitació de dalt de vida - preciós i lleuger i brillant i es van divertir veient tots els ocells del jardí. La informació proporcionada per avançat era realment gran, Ben va fer tot tipus de recomanacions interessants - només lamentem la nostra visita va ser massa curta per prendre avantatge de tot! Una zona molt agradable per visitar amb una gran quantitat de coses que es pot fer dins d'un poca distància amb cotxe. Els gossos estaven contents amb un munt d'agradables passejades a prop. Teníem tot el que necessitàvem i ens va encantar. Sens dubte tornaria de nou donat l'oportunitat.

  • La nostra família (2 adults i 2 nens) realment gaudim de la nostra estada de 4 nits a Longformacus. La casa es troba en una tranquil·la i pintoresca fila, amb vistes al riu a la part davantera i posterior dels jardins. A l'interior estava net i ordenat, amb totes les comoditats necessàries per a un viatge curt. Vam gaudir d'estar asseguts davant del foc ardent de registre, els jocs de taula i l'exploració de les fronteres escoceses. Gràcies Ben.

Surrounded by countryside, ideal for walkers, cyclists, golfers or those looking for a romantic break. 2 hotels in very close proximity serving good pub food. Only 40 minutes drive from Edinburgh. and a short drive to some spectacular beaches. (If you need more space we have another 3 person flat available downstairs)
    The village main street also has 2 cafes, Post Office, Gift Shop and small supermarket.
    Yester Castle is about an hour's walk and has a gothic vaulted chamber known as the The Goblin Ha'.

    A cosy, rural cottage in East Lothian which is 1 mile from the village of Garvald and 3 miles from the village of Gifford (supermarket in this village). The location is on a farm at the foot of the Lammermuir Hills with lovely open views and lots of great nearby walks along the picturesque beaches, foothill paths & tracks. It's also a great area for cycling, the surrounding roads were used by Iron Man Triathlon in 2017 and 2018 as part of the cycling route! The cottage offers a truly relaxing stay in the quiet of the countryside although it is also only 40 minutes drive from Edinburgh and the local villages and towns are of course nearer. The cottage is very well equipped, details of facilities are below as well as under amenities. If you are unsure about whether something is provided or would just like to check something in particular please feel free to message me. The open plan sitting and dining room: A cosy, country sitting room on the ground floor with feature stone wall, wood burning stove, Smart TV and dining for 4 The Kitchen: Well equipped modern kitchen on the ground floor with wooden worktops for a country feel yet all the comforts of home with a Nespresso machine for coffee lovers and integrated appliances: electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher. The Bedroom on the ground floor: This bedroom has a king size bed. We value a good nights sleep and the beds provided have this in mind, the frequent compliments about the beds gives us confidence we have got this correct. Deep pile sheepskin rugs either side of the bed add another sense of luxury. Other features include USB sockets both sides of the bed, wall mounted brass clothes hanging brackets, wall mounted smart TV, full length mirror and views out the front. The Bedroom upstairs: This bedroom can be prepared with either a super king size bed or 2 single beds. We value a good nights sleep and the beds provided have this in mind, the frequent compliments about the beds gives us confidence we have got this correct. There is a TV, chest of drawers, bedside tables, hanging space, mirrored dressing table area, USB sockets both sides of the bed, large velux windows with integrated black out blinds for a long, deep sleep and stunning views over the open countryside when you awake. The Bathroom: Spacious, luxurious bathroom with large double-ended bath, big enough for 2 and a fixed overhead shower. Wash hand basin and WC. Wicker-chat chair with soft sheepskin rug. Large velux window with stunning views over the countryside. Perfect space to relax and unwind with unlimited hot water, just add bubbles. The Downstairs Toilet: Toilet and washbasin on the ground floor just beside the back door. Complete with coat hooks above the radiator to dry out wet outdoor clothes. The Gardens and parking: There is an enclosed garden opposite the front door with parking spaces for 2 cars and a rear garden accessed from the back door.
    If country air and the sound of bird song is your thing then this is the right place for you. Many beautiful views can be found within easy walking distance. Recently installed walking tracks for the more seasoned walker can take you for many long hours of fresh air and fun! The Lammermuir Hills also offer many different walking routes. Bring the dogs and enjoy your break. The local village of Garvald offers a great little pub (also dog friendly) with good calibre meals prepared by the hosts Peter and Elaine. Nearest grocery shops, post office, cafe and 2 other pubs are 3 miles away in Gifford though.

    The Maltings, Haddington is a converted mill building next to the river Tyne in beautiful East Lothian. My flat is on the ground floor so it is good for wheelchair access. There is a designated parking space in the car park. Haddington has some great shops, bars and restaurants. Edingburgh is 30 minutes by car, 45 minutes away by bus, or there is a train station at Drem close by. East lothian is great for cycling, walking or immersing yourself in our many varied ancient monuments & castles.
    Guests have access to the kitchen, lounge diner and their own private bathroom
    Haddington is an ancient market town. It has some terrific cycle routes with excellent coffee and cake stops along the routes.

    Self- contained 1-bed flat in the heart of rural East Lothian. The flat is part of our family home, but has its own front door. Kitchen with hob, oven, dishwasher. Bedroom with double bed and plenty of cupboard space. En-suite bathroom with walk in shower. Living room with vaulted ceiling and patio doors onto small decking area leading to rear garden. Also access to sitting area in front garden. The flat has some adaptations suitable for the disabled.
    The flat is a recently built extension to our 19th century farm cottage - appropriately enough, surrounded by farmland. We have a couple of cats who roam the garden and will probably join you if you leave a door open!
    Our house is in the small hamlet of Glenkinchie, in the heart of East Lothian farming country. We are just a few yards up the hill from the Glenkinchie Distillery, East Lothian’s premier tourist attraction. We’re a few miles away from glorious beaches, golf courses galore, (including Muirfield and Gullane) and charming market towns. Head south and you can be up in the Lammermuir hills in 20 minutes or so. We’ve lived here for over 20 years and both work in Edinburgh, so can help out with local information, walks, restaurants, and so on.

    The house is quietly situated, yet less than 10 mins walk to the historic town centre. Just 5 minutes walk away is the bus stop where the X7 will whisk you to the centre of Edinburgh in just 35 minutes. Haddington is an historic market town with independent shops and plenty of places to eat. Riverside walks along the banks of the Tyne start a few minutes from the house. Castles, golf courses, nature reserves and the seaside towns of Dunbar and North Berwick are easily accessible.
    I offer a light self service breakfast to be taken in the flower filled conservatory. Guests are welcome to make tea or coffee at other times in the day or evening. Guests can relax in the conservatory with views of the pretty garden. The shared bathroom has a shower and a toilet (no bath) There is free offstreet parking on requestand plenty of nearby on street parking.
    There is a lovely walk into town along the banks of the River Tyne which is 4 minutes walk from the house.

  • Doncs què puc dir. Des del moment que vam reservar Jan va ser simplement un magnífic amfitrió, estar en contacte i estar allà per donar-nos la benvinguda. Jan té una casa realment bonica i les fotos d’Airbnb no fan justícia ni et preparen pel meravellós que és. Hem dormit molt bé al llit còmode i tot ha estat completament intens. L'esmorzar també va ser especialment apreciat i un toc encantador, sobretot perquè es pot prendre al tranquil conservatori de Jan amb vistes al seu jardí senzill, amb la seva plantació més fabulosa i reflexiva. Simplement meravellós. Jan és un amfitrió encantador i acollidor i ha intentat pensar en tot per assegurar que els hostes passin una estada encantadora. Va ser una base perfecta per explorar la infinitat de llocs que ofereix l'est de Lothian, incloent-hi les ciutats portuàries / marines de Dundar i del nord de Berwick. A més, Haddington és una bonica ciutat històrica i el centre amb restaurants, botigues i edificis encantadors es troba a poca distància a peu pel camí de la ribera.     This picture perfect 2 bedroom cottage boasts some of the best sea water front views this coastline has to offer. Fully equipped kitchen and dining area with amazing views. In prime golf country, Aberlady boasts the excellent Kilspindie links course, while a landscape of fairways and greens stretches east to Gullane and beyond. The shore here is a nationally important refuge for thousands of geese in the autumn. They are an incredible spectacle as they fly in to roost on the mudflats. Marshes, beach and the rocky coast of the Firth of Forth under a big sky makes for an impressive setting.

    A lovely bright, cosy one bedroomed house with a secure garage in a quiet cul-de-sac within a peaceful seaside village. The beach is a 5 minute walk down a woodland pathway which can be accessed from beside the house. 2 minutes from the bus stops for Edinburgh or North Berwick and a 15 minute walk through the village/2 minutes in the car to reach the train station. Garage can store motorbikes/pedal bikes, golf clubs, windsurfing boards next to the house with a driveway for parking the car.
    Longniddry is a quiet, peaceful village a short walk from the beautiful beach. You will find all the amenities you would need while staying at the house. There is a small coffee shop, a pub/restaurant and a take away for food and drinks if you don't want to cook. There are also small grocery shops and a chemist for any other things you may need during your stay, all within walking distance from the house.

The double bedroom has plenty of storage space, while the bathroom has a shower above the bath. Both have high quality Karndean floors. The kitchen is well equipped, with an electric oven and hob, fridge (with freezer compartment), and a washer/dryer. The hot water and radiators are all electric; thanks to the solar panels on-site, this ensures minimal environmental impact, while also providing easy to operate and highly responsive heating. There is a dryer function on the washing machine, but also an outdoor whirligig, so ideal if you're a cyclist or walker and caught in the rain! In the sitting area, there's a flatscreen TV and DVD player, radio and CD player.     The flat is located in the heart of Haddington. It is a listed property with high ceilings and big bright windows. You will enjoy a modern and fully equipped flat with plenty of character and traditional features. The flat is located just 2 metres away from the bus stop where you can travel all around East Lothian to enjoy the scenic countryside and castles , but also travel directly to Edinburgh. Just outside the flat you will find plenty of local shops, supermarket and cafes
    The flat consists of an open plan living room kitchen , modern and fully equipped. There is a flat tv with Netflix and WIFI connection. The sofa bed in the living room can turn into a very comfortable double bed if required. There is also an upright piano that you are welcome to use ! The flat has 2 good sized bedrooms. The master bedroom has a comfortable double bed , a dressing table , a small table and chairs where you can enjoy a morning coffee overlooking Haddington city by the big bright windows. The second bedroom consists of a small double bed, storage space for clothes and a drum kit . The flat also benefits from a full bathroom with a separate bathtub and shower. Please note that all rooms have our personal belongings but there is also space for you to store your items.
    Haddington The market town of Haddington is set amongst agricultural country in East Lothian, situated snugly under the Garleton Hills on the banks of the River Tyne. Agriculture has long been the basis for Haddington’s prosperity. Today people still enjoy taking part in the Haddington Farmers’ Market, which takes place on the last Saturday of every month. The town has a good mixture of shops including many independent retailers, cafes and restaurants. St Mary's Church, which dates from the 14th century, is one of the three great pre-reformation churches in the Lothian’s and the largest parish church in Scotland. Nearby is Traprain Law, the site of an old Iron Age Fort and Hailes castle located on the banks of the river Tyne now managed by Historic Environment Scotland. Just outside the flat is a bus stop where you can take the bus to explore the scenic countryside of East Lothian. There are plenty of footpaths, cycling paths, and some of the most famous golf courses nearby such as Gullane, North Berwick, Haddington, Gifford golf courses. Within 15-20min you can also visit some of the most beautiful castles of Scotland such as Tantallion Castle in North Berwick located by the sea , Dirleton Castle, Dunbar etc . Also there is are regular direct buses to the city of Edinburgh with an approximate 30min travel time.

Fishing is by permit on the River Tyne which is ten minute walking distance from our Chalets. Permits can be bought at Mains Saddlers in Haddington. There are plenty of golf courses nearby including Haddington Golf Club which we are members of.

    A cosy, rural cottage in East Lothian which is 1 mile from the village of Garvald & 3 miles from Gifford. The location is at the foot of the Lammermuir Hills with lovely open views and lots of great picturesque walks along the foothill paths & tracks. A great area for cycling, the surrounding roads were used by Iron Man Triathlon in 2017 and 2018 as the technically challenging route for cycling. Sitting room: Cosy up in the ground floor sitting room, there are two 3 seater sofas, Smart TV and wood burning stove. Kitchen: Well equipped kitchen on the ground floor with oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and Nespresso machine with milk frother. Conservatory: A ground floor, bright conservatory with 2 seater sofa and 2 armchairs, just off the sitting room, with patio doors leading to the front garden Front hall: On the ground floor and accessed from the front garden. The front hall has a heated cupboard for coats, boots, shoes and everything outdoors Dining area: This area forms a spacious hall area at the centre of the ground floor of the cottage and has a large dining table which can be extended to seat 8. Laundry room: On the ground floor providing a dedicated space for washing machine and tumble drier Bedroom 1: On the ground floor with a king size bed. We value a good nights sleep and the beds provided have this in mind and the frequent compliments about the beds gives us confidence we have got this correct This bedroom has an en suite bathroom (bath, shower over bath, wash basin, heated towel rail & WC) and a window with views over the front garden. There are USB charging sockets at both sides of the bed. Bedroom 2: This bedroom is on the first floor and can be prepared with either a super-king double bed or 2 single beds. We value a good nights sleep and the beds provided have this in mind and the frequent compliments about the beds gives us confidence we have got this correct. There is a smart TV with USB socket in the bedroom. It is on the 1st floor with large velux windows giving views over the countryside and with integrated black out blinds for night-time. There are USB charging sockets at both sides of the bed. 2nd Bathroom: Beside the 2nd bedroom on the first floor with window over the rear garden and with bath, shower over bath, wash basin, WC & heated towel rail Landing: On the first floor with a desk for a dedicated work area. Garden: A large lawned garden to the front and a rear lawn with clothes drying line. Parking: There is plenty of space for parking cars and vans.
    If country air and the sound of bird song is your thing then this is the right place for you. Many beautiful views can be found within easy walking distance. Recently installed walking tracks for the more seasoned walker can take you for many long hours of fresh air and fun! The Lammermuir Hills also offer many different walking routes. The nearest village of Garvald (1 mile) has a pub serving food, the nearest grocery shops, post office, cafe and 2 other pubs serving food are 3 miles away in Gifford.

    Our peaceful cottage is located at the bottom of our garden, reached by a private lane less than 200 yards from the centre of Haddington. Haddington is a historic market town 20 miles east of Edinburgh and has good public transport to the city. Located in East Lothian and 20 minutes drive to the many beaches and golf courses. There are several restaurants, pubs and coffee shops within an easy stroll. The cottage is self-contained with private parking in a relaxed, quiet setting.
    Quiet location but near town centre and all amenities very close by. Park, Sports Centre, tennis courts all within a few hundred yards. Lovely river walk and historic St Mary's church to explore. Our accommodation provides a large bright upstairs studio room overlooking the garden. We have a king-sized bed and a double-sized bed settee in this space. Downstairs, we have the shower room and kitchen with access to garden. It can be cosy in the colder months and fresh and airy for Spring and Summer. Our price per night is based on two adults with an extra small charge for any guests over that number. This does not apply to children under 12 years of age and so when you book via Airbnb, please just book for two adults and there will be no extra charge. You can advise me independently so we can cater for the children as appropriate. Many thanks.

    An ideal spot for couples,solo adventurers,business travellers, families and furry friends. The cottage is situated in acres of stunning countryside with a stream running through the garden. It is equipped with a super king sized bed and extra sofa bed. Come and enjoy the countryside with the wildlife on your doorstep as well as the huge range of activities available nearby. Relax and unwind in front of the open fire.For the sightseers its only a 30 minute drive into the centre of Edinburgh!
    An easy spot to unwind but also a great base for walking, golfing, cycling, sightseeing in Edinburgh and the Borders, fishing and is close to the East Lothian beaches. The property is part of an old small holding farm which kept sheep up until recently. The cottage is next door to the main Keith Bridge House, a small 2 bedroom property where the tenants Jemima and Tim live and will welcome you and be available to help if there is anything that you need. Both properties date back to the 1850s with the cottage undergoing a recent renovation. Well known ornithologist George Waterston lived here for a number of years documenting the abundance of bird life found around the property. The stream has fish running through with herons, geese and ducks often patrolling up and down. Otters have been spotted but that is only if you are very lucky! We are pet friendly and have a large garden for dogs to safely run around in.
    The small village of Humbie is just over a mile up the road. There is a lovely cafe and general store called ‘The Humbie Hub’. The stunning Humbie church is just a short walk from the house as well as a busy Humbie village hall that often has events on in the village including film nights and coffee mornings. Just up the road the ‘Juniperlee’ is a well renowned eatery with good food. The quaint village of Gifford is around a 15 minute drive away where you can find two good pubs, the Goblin Ha and the Tyneside Tavern. For the golfers there is also the Gifford and Castle Park golf courses nearby as well as the many well renowned East Lothian courses. There are some lovely cycle routes around the quieter back roads of East Lothian that are easily accessed from the cottage. Closer to home enjoy lovely country walks around the Keith Marishal loop and Humbie Woods as well as plenty more. For the more adventurous the Lammermuir Hills are very close by to get some hill walks in! For the whisky lovers the well known Glenkinchie Whisky Distillery is only a five minute drive away or a 45 minute leisurely country walk...

    Wee Windy sits within the grounds of our family home. It is an ideal retreat for couples but sleeps up to 4 people. It is situated just 15 minutes walk from North Berwick train station, 20 minutes from the high street and beach, and is a 35 minute train journey from Edinburgh's city centre. It has an airy but cosy feel, with lots of natural light, and is decorated in a coastal theme. It also has a private entrance - but shared gate entrance - which allows guests to come and go at any time.
    Wee Windy comprises an open plan living room and kitchen, one bedroom, and a shower room. The living room and kitchen area is bright, comfortable, and great for socialising. There is a sofa which converts to a bed on request (with an extra person charge of £10 per person per night). There is also a large wall mounted smart television with Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, and BBC iPlayer services to name a few. The kitchen is well equipped if you choose to cook and has a breakfast bar, oven and built-in microwave, Induction hob, dishwasher, toaster, and Nespresso coffee machine. Guests also have access to a washing machine and drying area in the adjoining laundry room. The bedroom is minimalist and cosy, with excellent wardrobe space, and has a super king size bed (which can be unzipped and converted into two singles if you give us advance notice). The shower room contains a walk-in digital shower and has underfloor heating, as well as a heated towel rail.
    North Berwick is a stunning seaside town and was voted the best place to live in Scotland by the Sunday Times in 2017. The gorgeous coastline, thriving community, and incredible seafood are just a few reasons why! It is an excellent place to visit if you are active and outdoorsy, with two beautiful beaches, wildlife-rich waters, the Scottish Seabird Centre, and the statuesque North Berwick Law overlooking the town and islands. Sailors, animal lovers, bird watchers, and hikers will be in their element. If you are a keen golfer, you will already know that there is an abundance of golf courses in the surrounding areas. Our local courses, the North Berwick Golf Club and Glen Golf Club, are both a 5 minute drive away from Wee Windy, as are the public putting greens and tennis courts. The High Street is quaint and home to a mix of artisan, independent shops, cafes, coffee houses, and restaurants, where every taste and budget are catered for. There genuinely is something for everyone. Netherlaw is a quiet, leafy street in a residential area set back from the town centre. The North Berwick sports centre is a 5 minute walk along the road from Wee Windy and boasts a great range of exercise classes as well as a swimming pool, gym, squash courts, and a cafe. We are also close to North Berwick Law which you can climb to see stunning views out to the islands Fidra, Lamb, Craigleith, Bass Rock, and May.

    Our Cottage is a single story bungalow with steps to access front and rear of the property. It has two well-lit bedrooms; one fitted with a king size bed and the other a single bed, with an option for a second single bed if required. There is a log burner centrepiece in the large lounge alongside a fully stocked log store, with the addition of some blankets, to ensure you’re kept feeling sufficiently snug on those chilly nights when the stars shine bright. The Sun Room has a comfortable sofa for you to cosy up and take in the stunning uninterrupted views and there is a dining room table set up, so you can take in the beautiful surroundings while you relax with a tipple of your choice. This room provides direct access to decking where there is a table and set of chairs for al fresco dinning as you take in the stunning views across the open fields. Once the sun sets there is a bench so you can star-gaze to your heart’s content. There is also a large side garden for you to relax in, should you feel like watching the birds up close. The bathroom has a bath and Mira shower, with toiletries and large Egyptian cotton towels. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with fridge freezer, oven, hob, kettle and dishwasher, with an array of crockery and utensils to help you cook up a storm, alternatively there are good restaurants and pubs near the cottage, one within a 5-minute walk. Torches are provided as there is no street lighting and minimal light pollution from surrounding areas. The driveway has ample room for three cars. This property is not suitable for small children, due to the layout of the decking area and also as the driveway is open to the road. Contact us regarding pet policy.
    Very quiet and peaceful place. Noise is minimal at night. Within a 5 minute walk of both an Asda supermarket and a pub/restaurant. On a clear day both Bass Rock and North Berwick Law can be viewed from the Cottage, with the latter providing a great walk rewarded with wonderful views west to Edinburgh, where on a clear day you can see Arthur’s Seat and Edinburgh Castle, as well as great views of the coast once at the top. If you're a keen golfer, or fancy giving it a go, then there is an abundance of fantastic award-winning courses close by. Nature lovers can also take an inspirational visit to John Muir's Birthplace in Dunbar and explore the best beauty spots that East Lothian has to offer.

    The Coach House is located a short distance from the idyllic East Lothian village of Humbie, nestled in the foothills of the Lammermuir Hills yet only 18 miles from the centre of Edinburgh. Situated on a small working sheep farm it is both a tranquil and accessible location which is also near to the Scottish Borders and the seaside coast and golf courses of East Lothian. It is ideal for a touring, golfing, fishing, walking or general sightseeing holiday.
    The accommodation comprises a fully fitted kitchen with breakfast bar and dining area, bathroom and utility room on the ground floor where there is ample storage and drying areas. The first floor has 2 bedrooms and living room served by relatively steep stairs with handrail. The main bedroom has an ensuite W.C and basin. There are seating areas around the cottage for relaxation outside. We do welcome guests with dogs but understandably only if well controlled as it is a working sheep farm.
    Only a short walk from The Coach House is Humbie village where guests can make use of the Humbie Hub for lunch and refreshments, shopping essentials and Post Office facilties.

    East Linton is a beautiful historic town bang in the middle of East Lothian. There are some lovely shops and cafes, an award winning butchers, a farm shop and various local pubs.
