Gulluk, is a fishing village popular with rich Turks & has many quality but lowly priced bars and restaurants, a 2km prom & will soon have a marina set to rival that of Bodrum. Vita Park Golf Resort, Tuzla (15 mins) & many facilities are available incl those of Mavi seaside holiday resort.
Local buses goes to Bodrum, surrounding villages & attractions cost as low as 2 €.
The area abounds with ancient Lycian ruins incl those at Ephesus, Didymus, Iosos, Labranda, & the Halicarnassus mausoleum (one of 7 ancient wonders of the world) at Bodrum.
Bodrum is a lively 'international' resort with many quality shops & restaurants. Thousands of boats moor in the marina and boat trips of all types (incl. to Kos) can be taken. There are many historical attractions in and around the town incl. St Peters castle. Dedeman water park is here.
The peninsular is rugged & picturesque and is home to many tiny whitewashed fishing villages.

The superbly located and high quality beach club Sunset Ozkan and the bar 3 mins walk from apartment. A 4 min. walk will take you to the Mavi Holiday resort, next to the sea, with pool, beach, bar, restaurant, extensive grounds and lots of sporting activities. Both of these charge around 25 Euro, for all inclusive food, drink, entertainment and facilities - great value.

The cheap minibuses (Dolmus) run from the village and can take you anywhere in Turkey, including frequent buses to Bodrum and many other surrounding coastal villages and attractions.

Gulluk will soon have its own marina and is expected to rival that of Bodrum. Many refer to it as the new ‘Monte Carlo'.
The fishing village is charming and still shows off its traditional pasttimes, but equally abounds with modern, welcoming and lowly priced bars and restaurants dotted all the way around the pretty bay, starting within a few minutes walk of the apartment.
The bay now has a newly extended promenade - perfect for a beautiful and romantic stroll in the glorius and warm evenings.
Beaches in the area are generally small, and part sandy/part shingle, and swimming can be undertaken from the beach or is sometimes off wooden or concrete platforms. Gulluk centre is about 12 mins walk along a coast road lined with bars, restaurants and small shops. The international airport at Bodrum Milas is a mere 15 minutes away. Chic and stylish Bodrum is just a 30 mins drive.
Gulluk itself (translated means "place of roses"), is a picturesque traditional (quite large) fishing village. The village is set in a protected bay on the Aegean coast and enjoys the most remarkable and romantic sunsets. Surrounded by forests; olive, almond and orange plantations, the Bay of Gulluk is full of small-unspoilt villages, bays, coves and beaches.
Though still relatively undiscovered, Gulluk and the surrounding area are benefiting from an increase in visitors and hosts a large number of bars and restaurants mostly offering great food at great local prices, though up-market dining can also be found. The area is regarded as "chic" and "exclusive" and attracts wealthy Turkish and International visitors. For a great convivial atmosphere try Joe's Bar in the centre of Gulluk (next to Yapi Kredi Bank, opp the pleasure boats). A new 2 km long paved promenade has recently been completed and a new soon to be built exclusive marina and several golf courses will make Gulluk what they are calling the "new Monte Carlo of Turkey". Already the Vita Park Golf Resort is open and is just a 15 min drive away.
The plans for Gulluk are very exciting and tourism experts have already referred to it as the future "Portofino of Turkey" High praise indeed and thus the perfect holiday location for those seeking quiet and peaceful surroundings, combined with the ability to undertake all manner of activities incl golf, walking and watersports (scuba diving, sailing, snorkelling, windsurfing, water ski-ing, surfing, canoeing). The renaissance of Gulluk is already under way and even with all the exciting plans for the village, you can be assured that Gulluk retains its special charm and character.
Also known as the "fishing paradise of Turkey", it is not surprising that the village of Gulluk is famous for its fish restaurants, where sea bass and sea bream are the speciality.
Gulluk enjoys the enviable position of being in a quiet and peaceful location but it is by no means remote. Of its many plus points, one is Gulluk's location and accessibility.
Gulluk village boasts all facilities a holidaymaker could want, including banks, ATM's, post office, large "Migros" supermarket, telephone and internet connections, taxis/car hire, bus station, boat (incl Gulets) and fishing trips and boats/yachts for hire. The market is open several days of the week and as well as being exotic, colourful and fun, offers some great bargains.
From Gulluk a wide variety of excursions and activities can be undertaken, including plenty of water-sports, walking, cycling, visits to historical sites etc.
There is no necessity to hire a car being just a short walk to Gulluk centre and from there you can take the bus to the nearby villages, market town of Milas, and to the lively and exciting resort of Bodrum, which is well worth a visit or 2. Cost is YTL10 (about £3) each way. The minibuses ("Dolmus") travel the whole of Turkey, are very frequent; very cheap and stop on request. Bodrum has many attractions, including marina, shops, clubs, famous windmills, historical sites and a waterpark. It even has a Tesco's (under the name of "Kipa"), and a Marks and Spencer.
The apartment and complex is managed by MaviRealty, (Mavi means "blue" - not to be confused with the nearby resort) the same people who organise the airport transfers, and they will hand you the keys, no matter what time of day or night you arrive. Mavi will also be on hand to assist should you experience any issues in connection with the apartment/complex or just to give advice generally including travel, and things to do and see, and will also make bookings for you if you wish.
