The Loft Suite is an eclectic space with a full bath and kitchenette that can sleep up to 6 located in a quiet neighborhood, 1 mile from I90. It’s only 3 mi. to downtown which can be accessed in 5 min. and you’ll never have to fight traffic!
Located on the ground floor of a repurposed barn, the Loft Suite is rich with the ambiance of antiques, lighting features and high ceilings. Whether you read a book by the fire, curl up in a cozy bed nook, or drink coffee at the table, you’ll love it here!
A caricature book from 1913, a red vintage couch, an assortment of inherited, scavenged antiques and lots of paint make this a delightful place for you to call home away from home. Every item—from the walls and concrete floor to the bathroom vanity, tables, chairs, lampshades, cushions and beds—was made over by hand. I hope you have as much fun staying here as I had in creating this special place for you!
ENTRY & KITCHENETTE ☕️
Accessed through the covered porch on the RIGHT side of the building, you’ll enter the Loft Suite through a space that acts as a mud-room, kitchenette and laundry area with the bathroom located in the back. The kitchenette is equipped with a small fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot, coffee, tea, cream and sugar, packages of oatmeal and snacks.
The bathroom has plenty of counter and drawer space, hair dryer, and a full-size bathtub/shower.
MAIN ROOM 🛋
Through a door off of the entry/kitchenette area is the spacious 400sq. ft. living/sleeping room. It is comfortably furnished with a
vintage sectional couch, numerous chairs and side tables, plus a dining table that expands to seat four. There is a dresser, closet and shelves for personal items.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS: 🛌 🛌 🛌
Located along one side of the main room are three cozy sleeping nooks. The lower sleeping nook has a queen-sized bed. The sleeping loft above it is accessed with a ladder and features a full bed. Separated from these two areas by a large closet is a bunk bed for additional guests if needed. All beds are made up with high end, cotton percale sheets and have memory foam plus a natural wool mattress topper for a comfortable night’s rest.
CHECK-In/Out TIME ⏰
▪️Official check-in is 4pm but I often have the room done sooner so if you’re a bit early, message me and I’ll let you know if it’s ok to come on over.
▪️Early check-in or late check-out may be available upon request for an additional $15. Please inquire, don’t assume!
▪️Check-out is 11am.
▪️To help keep rates low, I ask that guests to strip the sheets off the beds and wash up dirty dishes after their stay. HOWEVER...If you’re in a hurry or just prefer not to do these things, a tip is a perfectly acceptable substitute, but by no means required.
I have to access the laundry located in the kitchenette area of this unit on a daily basis. You can keep the door closed to the Main Room during the day during laundry hours (9am-4pm) for privacy when I pop in and out. On busy summer days I may wash 3-4 loads of laundry per day, so please be aware of this when booking.
Guests park directly in front of the porch entrance along the far right edge of the driveway.
HEATING & COOLING 🔥 ❄️
It is heated with natural gas and electric heat, as well as a wood burning stove.
There is no AC because even on the hot days this space stays cool because it is half-basement, faces north, and is shielded from the east and west by other rooms, and has 12’ ceilings. Summer nights are very cool so simply open the windows at night and shut them during the day to maintain an indoor temperature in the upper 60’s to low 70’s.
This unit shares walls and ceiling with other guests suites and the hostess living space. There is a FULL 6” of spray-foam insulation within the walls and ceiling which dampens sounds, but the space is not sound proof. Please keep this in mind when you choose to book and keep noise to a minimum as a courtesy to other guests.
WINTER: ❄️ Although we do plow and salt our driveway, AWD/4WD, studded tires may be needed to navigate our hillside neighborhood in winter. Please message before booking for advise on the current road conditions.
Located only 5-8 minutes from nearly every part of Coeur d'Alene, this spacious, private apartment is located on a short, dead-end street that is in a very safe and desirable area of town.
We are on the edge of the forest-covered mountains that surround our beautiful town so you will see deer, turkeys and other wildlife.
Bikers enjoy riding on the roads around here so if you're here for an Ironman event it is an excellent location with plenty of room for vehicles and bicycles alike.
