Here's a bullet-point summary of the rental. Details are elaborated upon in the description of the space.
* I am on lockdown outside of US, so looking to rent minimum one month at a time and reducing rental rate by more than half
* EXCELLENT place to self-isolate! As you will read about.
Although I'm out of country I have friends very close by who cn assist with issues.
*Home delivery option for organic fruits and vegetables, with supermarket also 5 min drive.
* I love this place!
I hope this finds you safe and healthy. I have a small custom built home, with outdoor deck, in Loch Lomond (population says 410 but I think that’s exaggerated :-) ). I’ve been intending on offering it on AirBnB for quite some time, as I spend so much time traveling outside the US. When I traveled to India in December I decided to make this conversion to a rental when I returned. However I now find myself on a remote Fijian island and not returning for probably a good long while given the current circumstances with the virus. So I’m looking to offer my rental “as is”, without all the sprucing up one would typically do for an AirBnB vacation rental, but also at a significantly reduced rate.
A few things about my place you may find of interest or attractive:
I’ve lived here for 11 years. It has been my sanctuary in between travels. I am a Vegan, yoga teacher, meditate and chant a lot, and am into a very healthy lifestyle. So that is the vibe of this place. It is set-apart, contemplative and surrounded by nature. A few neighbors nearby but all at a respectable distance, as photos will show.
Even though Lake County has some of the cleanest air in the US (as per American Lung Association, plus you can feel it), I have a powerful air purifier for the place which kills all virus and pathogens.
A friend told me about ‘dirty energy’ (electrical pollution, EMF’s etc) emitted from regular electrical wall plugs. I found Stetzer Filters online and purchased one for every electrical wall socket in my place (15 or 16), effectively neutralizing the electrical pollution. You may think this ‘woo-woo’ technology, but I’ll tell you, after putting them in just last year I immediately felt and slept much better.
There is a local business that home delivers organic produce and a number of organic groceries to your doorstep once a week. They allow for pick-up as well, very close by. But I have to say, having it all delivered to your door is sweet. One of the things I miss when I travel. UPDATE: Due to the corona virus they are for now only selling their produce in case quantities to avoid handling, and suspending for now their grocery items, so it's just produce. I can send you their current list that they issue weekly. Also, there are a couple of very good stores close by to purchase groceries of all kinds, such as Hardester’s Market in Cobb. You can Google them.
Loch Lomond has extremely clean, drinkable water running through their water system, but I also have a double charcoal water filter so the water is SUPER clean.
The photos of the house will show you the bedroom space without a bed. I’ve been sleeping on a very simple Japanese mat in the loft up the ladder that you'll see. Obviously most people prefer beds!, so I am in the process of shopping for a new one now. You'll be the first to sleep on it. But you can see the space it will be in which I had been using as a music room.
The bedroom area is carpeted, the rest is really nice Brazilian cherry hardwood.
You'll see one shot of my car that is parked below. That is the lower driveway. You can drive to the very top to the house, same level as entrance, so there would be no steps to front door. There's parking for at least two cars. The driveway is a little steep but as I say no steps to the house.
The kitchen area is super simple. I’ve never attached a stove, although it is designed to accommodate one as there is a gas line there for that purpose. But I’ve been comfortable with a magnetic hot plate, toaster oven and Vita-Mix (I’m big on Green Smoothies so the Vita-Mix has been my kitchen engine). If you need a stove let me know.
The place was built by a friend of mine for he and his wife to live in. In other words, he built it for himself to live in, so added a lot of nice custom touches - rounded deck, lots of detail. He was an artist at heart, so the place truly is charming and has a really nice feel.
This has central propane heating and air conditioning. There is also a ceiling fan.
The bathroom has a nice deep tub for soaking, and a double sink.
And we’re coming into the nicest time of year, Spring and Summer, and Fall for that matter. But Spring is nice, everything begins to blossom. And as the weather warms you can spend more time on the deck. Lots of deer and birds. Hummingbirds too. The photos are from winter so trees look sparse. In Spring they fill out and all is very green, beautiful, especially on deck.
Of course internet is super important these days. I have a direct connect ethernet cable as well as wireless router for WI-FI so all good.
The plan was to fix the place up and offer it as a vacation rental for $125 a night. Under the circumstances we are presently in, I don’t want a steady stream of different people in there constantly, so am looking to rent it for a minimum month at a time. For that the rate goes to $54 a night, or approximately $1620 a month.
It has a washer and dryer in a laundry room adjacent to the front door of the house. There is also a full-sized refrigerator there as well, with a mini-fridge inside the studio itself.
I do have a downstairs room that I use for storage but could make it available as an additional room to rent for $10 a night. The room is about 10 x 17, and features a state-of-art Lifespan treadmill, and a state-of-the-art Clearlight Sanctuary Y infrared sauna, both purchased just last year.
As you can see in the photos there are still personal items there. I did not want to have everything cleared out until I was certain someone was interested in renting it. Again, you're getting it 'as is', without some of the personal touches and other things I would have done if I had been there (new deck furniture, etc). But then, that's why the major reduced price.
I think that's it. I've never rented AirBnB so no doubt missing something. Let me know if I can be of further assistance to clarify anything.
Thank you, and be well!
