Homely 17th century cottage in the heart of the village of Burgh-by-Sands (6 miles from Carlisle) on the route of Hadrian's Wall. Newly rennovated, the property comfortably sleeps four with two double bedrooms, one of which is complete with an ensuite cloakroom. The whole house is yours, including a spacious kitchen-diner and cosy living room. Located on the Hadrian's Wall walking route (7 miles from the end) and National Cycle Network Route 72, ideally situated for exploring the Solway Coast.
The ground floor contains an open plan kitchen/diner with a separate cosy living room complete with TV, DVD player, Chromecast, and cosy wood burning stove. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, gas oven and hob, and washing machine. In addition to this, there is a dining table and chairs suitable for four people. Completing the ground floor is a bathroom comprising of bath with shower over, W.C and wash hand basin. Stairs lead to the first floor which has two double bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite cloakroom. A cupboard on the landing houses the tumble drier. The second bedroom has an extra, reduced height, space, which can be used as a sleeping platform for children ( quality thick single mattress provided), or for a travel cot. For small children, a high chair, and stair gate are also provided. Every room has central heating. Originally the village tailors shop, the cottage was also the birthplace in 1770 of poet John Stagg
Burgh by Sands lies within the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, six miles west of the City of Carlisle. Carlisle is easily accessible, with regular rail links to Edinburgh, Newcastle, London, Leeds, Manchester, and Glasgow. Known as, 'The Great Border City', Carlisle offers a wealth of attractions both modern and historic. In Carlisle's historic quarter, the cultural and social heart of the city, you will find a castle, cathedral, museums and beautiful parks. In addition to this, Carlisle has a wide range of shops from Primark and Marks and Spencer, to an indoor market and numerous other local businesses. Located 7 miles from Bowness on Solway, the end of Hadrian's Wall, a lovely drive (or walk) along this coastal route following the Solway Firth. The cottage provides an ideal base for exploring this historic part of the country, including the villages of Drumburgh and Port Carlisle, known for their wildlife and nature reserves. In addition to Hadrian's wall, the cottage is less than 15 miles from the Northern Lake District, which has recently been awarded World Heritage Site status. The village of Burgh by Sands has a public house, the Greyhound Inn, which serves a variety of real ales in addition to varied bar menu. It also has a playpark for younger children and a village green with playing field and wildlife and picnic areas. A Post Office operates for two days during the week. There is a private swimming pool for hire in Longburgh (1 mile). Check online for booking and opening times - Longburgh Pool. Hairdressers also in the village. The Drovers Rest at Monkhill is a pleasant twenty minute walk along Hadrian's Wall way, (or a mile drive) and has recently been awarded the CAMRA Cumbrian Pub Of The Year for the third consecutive year. To complete the country pubs in the surrounding villages take a look at Moorhouse, Great Orton, Glasson, Port Carlisle and Bowness on Solway. Further afield, the charming seaside town of Silloth, complete with many of its original Victorian buildings, is only a 20 mile drive away. With both sandy and stone beaches, Silloth is a peaceful haven and a birdwatchers paradise. Close to Silloth is the Gincase, a farm park which is popular with families.

Welcome to Carlisle. You couldn't really get much more central place than our house. This is a ground floor room, at the front of the property, ideally the room accommodates one guest, but it does have a high quality double bed. 2 guests are fine but you can only access the bed from one side.
Large townhouse in the centre of Carlisle, opposite the old fire station and close to the historic castle. A hotel look and feel, but at a fraction of the cost. A short walk from the shops and night life, a major multi point bus stop and the train station. In the house you have a lovely ground floor room, which is where the communal room and kitchen are also, on the first floor is your bathroom with shower. The house is accessed by a secure lock box, and all personal rooms are lockable. I do not live on the premises, but I can be reached at most times. There are two nice cafes within a minute walk, opposite the house in the Old Fire Station, and down the road at the Gone To The Dogs cafe. Further up town, there are a viarity of cafes and restaurants, or if you prefer you can use the kitchen and make yourself a nice homely meal.
Our house is located right in the centre of Carlisle, a lovely three story townhouse. There is a 24hour pay and display car park located behind the house, and hour disk zone parking (between 8am-6pm out side these times you are free to park at leisure) a short walk away. Most local amenities are on your doorstep, and can also be delivered right to the door too.

This is a clean town house right in the centre of Carlisle. You have your own tea and coffee making facilities and your own cutlery and crockery should you wish to cook. There is free super fast fibre internet. The high street is a minutes walk away. The train station is about 10 minutes walk away. There is free parking in the evenings in the disk zone area. Or a pay and display car park is right behind the house. I do not live on the property but I'm local should you need anything.
This is a double room on the 2nd floor facing the rear of the property.
The property is very centrally located in Carlisle. Ideal for work or leisure. It's on the side of town away from the night life so its nice and quiet. However shops, dining and night life are between 2 and 10 minutes walk from the house.

The apartment is light and airy with lovely views of the Lake District fells and surrounding countryside. It is fully equipped for self catering and recently refurbished throughout. There is safe private parking visible from the apartment. There are lots of local pubs and cafes nearby together with a long established restaurant next door. Although we are in a rural relaxed location we have all amenities needed with friendly hosts living on site to assist with anything. There is free WiFi.
Close to the Lake District on the A595 we are an ideal location for tourists visiting the area or Scottish borders. Next to a well established restaurant you can enjoy a meal or the apartment has full catering equipment if you prefer. There are plenty of walks and the picturesque village of Dalston just 2 miles away.
Close to the charming village of Dalston and the Lake District. Local amenities within walking distance.

Red Stables was converted from old farm buildings into a lovely holiday cottage that is comfortable, warm and cosy. It's located on a farm in a peaceful setting with views south to the Lake District fells. You'll have exclusive use of the hot-tub and the high-quality non-slip composite decking which surrounds it. The cottage has underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, powered by our biomass boiler. It has high speed fibre broadband and a 49 inch television.
When you arrive you'll use the off road parking, and you will collect the keys from the key safe. When necessary, the underfloor heating will have warmed the ground floor tiles making the whole cottage warm and cosy. The cottage has an electric oven, microwave, kettle, George Forman grill, and toaster. We supply the essentials: tea, coffee, sugar, bread, butter, jam and fruit. The bedroom is on the first floor with a king-size bed. The wet-room has a walk-in shower and toilet and, like the rest of the ground floor, has a tiled floor and underfloor heating. There's an electrically heated towel rail. The hot-tub will be ready to enjoy from the moment you arrive. But we ask that you refrain from using it after 11pm or on the morning of departure.
Apart from having easy access to the Lake District, the cottage is well placed for visits to Hadrian's Wall and the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The cottage is 8 miles from the historic Border City of Carlisle and the Watchtree Nature Reserve is a couple of miles away. There are several pubs which serve food within a few miles.

Hello! I have a 3 bed bungalow in Gretna, a stones throw from the wedding capital of the UK! Locally there are shops, bakers, cafe, bars, restaurants etc and the GateWay shopping centre. 2 minutes from the M6, with local trains and buses. The property is suitable for those with limited mobility.
Guest Access Use of the kitchen as required and you are welcome to join us in the living room if desired. Interaction with Guests I am happy to help with any information on the area and I will always be there to welcome you to the house. You can be as interactive or private as you like. The Neighbourhood Gretna is well known as the marriage capital of the UK. There are many weddings taking place throughout the year and the The Old Blacksmiths is a 10 minute walk away. There is the Gretna Gateway Outlet Village which has many designer shops, which is literally 2 mins walk from the house. The neighbourhood is very quiet and there are local shops within walking distance. Getting Around By car it is 2 minutes from the M6 motorway. Gretna Green train station is a 15 minute walk and trains go to Carlisle (south) or Edinburgh (North) Local buses go to Dumfries and Carlisle.

Situated on Castletown Estate you can walk out of the garden gate and straight onto the river side with access to walks not publicly available.
The cottage is attached to a farmhouse occupied by the owner who are onsite and easily contactable. It is the perfect place for outdoor adventures, coastal or river walks, birdwatching and cosy nights in front of a wood burning stove. You will have access to the entire cottage including a spacious kitchen-diner, cosy living room and private, secluded garden with private access straight onto a riverside bridal way. The cottage has a spacious master bedroom with a king size bed. The other bedroom has custom made bunk bed, with standard size single mattresses on both the top and bottom bunk. We are very happy to provide a travel cot and high chair - just let us know prior to arrival. The wood burning stove makes the sitting area really cosy. Logs and kindling provided. The Lake District, Solway Coast, historic Carlisle and Scottish Borders - Gretna Green are within easy reach, with Junction 44 of the M6 being only 5 minutes away and Carlisle train station 15 mins (£15 taxi) away. There are lots of beautiful walks on the doorstep, including Hadrian's wall, the Coastal Path - routes and directions can be provided. Due to its location on the banks of the River Eden and Solway Firth, it is a birdwatchers and animal enthusiasts paradise. From the garden/ your bed you will both see and hear ducks, geese, swans and many other breeds of birds flying up and down the river onto the Solway Firth The newly renovated village pub is a 15 min walk away (3 min drive) and serves delicious food and is very friendly and welcoming (dog friendly). Only minutes from M6 junction 44, A69 and 7 miles from Gretna Green. Parking outside your door, this is a great place to stay. Very quiet neighbourhood.
If your looking for quality accommodation this could be the perfect location for you.
Very quiet location yet on minutes from the City Centre and M6 motorway. Morrisons Supermarket a short walk away. At the north east side of the city, great stop off point or base to explore Cumbria, South West Scotland and Gretna Green or the North East. Sands Centre, if your coming to a concert, about 5 mins away with local pubs and eateries near by.

We are 5-10 minute walk to the cumberland infirmary - ideal for locums and bank staff.
A modern 2nd floor apartment close to the town center. Our apartment has had a recent renovation including new carpets and furnishings and all kitchen equipment. A large 26 foot long open plan living area with a breakfast bar, for eating and working, comfy couches, and a well equipped kitchen including pots, pans, baking trays, all silver ware and all cooking utensils you may require. The main bedroom has an en-suite shower and toilet. There is also a seperate bathroom and toilet. The 2nd bedroom has 2x full size single beds.
Carlisle has lots to offer and this is a perfect base to start your adventures. With a brilliant location that is a very short walk into the town centre (8mins) and brilliant for tourist attractions. With easy access to the lake district and scotland, carlisle really is the perfect place to start!

  • Jo i la meva família vam estar aquí per fer una escapada al gener per explorar la ciutat i el mur dels Hadrians. El pis és de grans dimensions i tenia tot el que necessitàvem, qualsevol altra cosa que poguéssim sortir a la carretera fins a la Superstore de Sainsbury. L’aparcament segur de la construcció també era un autèntic avantatge i es trobava a només 5 minuts a peu del castell i la superba galeria Tullie. El centre de la ciutat està a 10-15 minuts a peu i té tot el que necessita, botigues, restaurants, pubs, bars i cinema. Recomanaria (i faré) aquest AirBnb i Carlisle a qualsevol. Gràcies!

    The pub in Burgh-by-Sands is closed at the moment!! (There is a post office and St.Michael's church.) Further pubs are in Monkhill, I can recommend for eating ( they take orders till 8 pm ), Moorhouse, Aikton, Kirkbride, Port Carlisle and in Bowness on Solway.

Overall I'd describe the annex as modern, cosy and quiet quirky over 3 floors narrow stairs. No smoking inside the Annex and no pets.
    The annex is situated on a quiet private Road in the west of Carlisle (approx 15/20 min walk to town centre), St James Church is at the bottom of our Road, the local shops a short walk include coop, newsagents, takeaways, bingo, florist & wine store. The cemetery is a few minutes’ walk and the local hospital is 15 min walk or 5 min drive.

    In our Grade ll listed property you will have your own living space, bed room with a double or twin bed and your private shower room. I can provide a single bed for a child up to 10 years (£15), a travel cod for a toddler or a baby's crib and highchair for an additional £10. You should let me know so we can discuss your requirements at the time of booking. We are in an area of outstanding national beauty-on the Solway coast and on the Hadrian's wall walking route.
    In our B&B-you have your own living room and bathroom. Our house is situated west of Carlisle (North of England); overlooking the marsh across to Scotland. A great place to explore wildlife, walk the Hadrian's wall or visit Cities like Glasgow and Edinburgh.
    In Burgh-by-Sands there is a pub: (please check for opening times as it is changing hands at the moment)-The Greyhound Inn, a post office and a church. Further pubs are in Monkhill, I can recommend for eating ( they take orders till 8 pm ) and in Port Carlisle and in Bowness on Solway.

    We welcome you to stay in our stable and barn conversion B&B and hope you will find the accommodation comfortable and to a high standard. We are also dog friendly, if you want to bring your dog please let us know. Mount Farm has been awarded the 4 star farmhouse rating from 'Quality in Tourism Britain'. We are near to the English/Scottish Border, Lake District and Carlisle Airport, making us a prefect base for a get away or stop off. Also we are only 5 mins from the M6 from Junction 44.
    Mount Farm is a small working farm, beautifully situated in the village of Blackford, near Carlisle. Room 1 & 2 are situated in the converted stables. These rooms are upstairs in a self contained annex to our property. Both rooms include an en-suite bathrooms with showers. The shared guest lounge and kitchen area are down stairs, with patio doors leading out to an enclosed garden. Rooms 3 & 4 are situated in the converted Byre. This building is detached to our property, and has access to an enclosed yard area. Both of these rooms have en-suite bathrooms, one of which is a wet room. Additional shared kitchen facilities are also included within the Byre. A full breakfast can be provided at an additional price, payable on arrival.
    Blackford is a small village on the outskirts of Carlisle.

    A lovely house with two bedrooms each containing a Double and a Single as well as a double sofa bed in the spacious lounge gives this place the capacity to accommodate a eight people. Staying for seven nights or more ? We are happy to offer a discount for longer stays.     Each of the two upstairs bedrooms are spacious rooms with a Double bed at one end and a Single bed at the other. The sofa bed in the lounge is a double size. The lounge has a 43" TV connected via WiFi to the broadband so Guests can log into their Netflix etc. accounts if desired. The kitchen has cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine and all the cutlery and crockery you'll need. We also provide the washing liquid for the machine and soap/shampoo etc in the bathroom. The house has a full bathroom upstairs as well as a convenient toilet downstairs.
    There is parking on the drive in front of the property which can accommodate two midium size cars. Other on street parking is available on the same road. Local shops, restaurants and takeaways provide for all your catering needs. The property is located within easy access to ther Carlisle Royal Infirmary (North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust) being just 400m from the main entrance.
