The house is spacious & light with wonderful views overlooking Neave island & the North Atlantic. It's a great year-round location for NC500, walking, outdoor sports & generally as a great place to get away from it all.
The things our friends & family value most about being here are the peace, the views, the space, the freedom, the privacy, the walks, the 'things' in house for a holiday (books, DVDs, games) & that it feels like a home.
The area is remote with the villages of Tongue & Bettyhill both 8 miles away. There is also a craft shop & post office only 2 minutes drive away. The peace & tranquility of the location combined with the views & comfort of the house are the aspects of Socair that people remark on most.

‘Ceol-na-Mara’ – Gaelic for music of the sea – is a beautifully restored former croft house in a stunning position overlooking the north Atlantic. Listen to the waves crashing on the dramatic coastline, smell the peat smoke, and drink in the peace and beauty of this magical crofting community.
The house was completely restored a few years ago but it retains charming traditional features including a wood burning stove, pine panelling and a Caithness flag floor. The master bedroom has a sea view. The single bedroom also has a sea view and leads into a small double bedroom with a velux window. Set in a large enclosed garden it is the perfect place to relax and unwind.
Kirtomy is an original crofting community which dates back to the time of the Highland Clearances in the 19th Century. When you drive down the winding road from the main road, the view suddenly opens out to a spectacular vista of sea, cliffs and croft houses.
