The house was very roomy. It was very quiet the bed was nice and comfy. I was visiting friends so I wasn't there much but I bet it would be a great place to hang out

The Guest House is located in a very beautiful rural location 2 1/2 hours southwest of Richmond. The cottage itself is charming, extremely clean and well appointed. It is spacious and does give the sense of serenity. There are a couple of places in town to eat but we had delivery from Allen's (Chinese). Their food was of good quality, plentiful and tasty. The Lacey's are committed to ensuring that your stay is comfortable. This would be an excellent choice for any one wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, if only for a day.

We loved the guest house on New Years Eve! The house was perfect for a night of relaxation and enjoyment. The directions and communication about the house was excellent before our arrival. Everything was better than we expected, from the welcoming candy and notes in the kitchen to the laundry detergent available for us to use. The fully stocked kitchen was amazing, we had a nice dinner after running to the grocery store. The dogs loved the backyard! Overall, we wish we could have stayed longer and will tell our friends and family about your place if they are traveling to Virginia. Thank you so much for opening up your beautiful house to us.

Exceptional stay! Wow. Not sure I can add to the glowing reviews already here. Melissa's cottage is delightful. Roomy, comfortable, beautifully decorated. This is the perfect place for a moms' getaway...base for touring Richmond or the James River plantations...work retreat. The ride into Richmond is pretty quick; but, there are plenty of good restaurants, grocery stores, shops in Midlothian. Listing deserves a 10-star rating! Many thanks to Melissa for her hospitality, timely response, flexibility...and muffins!

The Sheffield Cottage is the nicest airbnb I have ever stayed in! I loved every detail of the home - it was roomy and open, beautiful finishes and extremely comfortable. We did not want to leave! We were there for a big family wedding and the house was perfect for 3 families to stay and feel very at home. Melissa thinks of every detail to make your stay more comfortable - I could not think of one single thing to change, except the weather ;) We had lots of rain! It was perfect and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Stay here if you have the opportunity!

This cottage is beautiful!! We were in awe of every room and how it was decorated. We walked in to freshly baked muffins, cold water and orange juice, and coffee. Great house, great host - we would definitely stay here again! It truly is stunning!!

We have stayed at a few Airbnb locations and this is by far the best one yet. It will be very hard to top this place. The whole place is gorgeous. The decor is perfect and the home is very inviting and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. This place is very impressive and clearly has had a lot of thought put in to it. The host was nothing short of amazing, she even brought us fresh muffins in the morning. We will stay here again. That is if it is ever available again. Place this awesome can't be vacant often.

Truly one of the best airbnb experiences I've had. Easy check in, completely stocked with any amenity you'd need, very helpful host and an impeccably decorated home. Feels like you're off the beaten path but you can also get to a Target within 10 minutes if need be! The beds are heavenly and there's plenty of space to live, eat, and entertain. I booked Susan's beautiful 3 story Artists Retreat for my visiting neice who just graduated from college. The property sat beside water and offered a paddle boat! The trampoline IN the narrow 3 story fairytale like property was a hit. Equally impressive was Susan's willingness to help me with communication to and from Air BnB. Her place is close to restaurants and entertainment but quietly tucked away in an established neighborhood. Thanks Susan, Thanks Air BnB!

Susan was such a wonderful host! She was very accomodating when my girlfriend and I needed to adjust our arrival time much later than we expected. Her house was beautiful, and we had so much space at our disposal (plus a trampoline!) at an amazing price. The 3 floors included in the reservation were all clean and well-decorated, and the skylights were certainly a plus. When I visit Richmond again, I will definitely want to book another stay here! A+

The apartment was stunning. Artwork everywhere and so open and bright. But then outside you have the beautiful grounds complete with pond, walking trail and wildlife! I heard and saw woodpeckers, hawks and an assortment of small birds. The resident geese and ducks were around too. Beautiful scenery and so peaceful. Yet close to shopping etc. Susan had snacks, toiletries and even stocked the fridge with a few necessities. You can tell she loves having guests. So comfortable and welcoming. I will be back!

This is the second time my girlfriend and I have booked Susan's house. We have checked out other places but this is always where we end up because it's just that amazing of an experience and nothing else compares. As per usual, Susan is the ultimate host. The house is beautiful, secluded but a quick car ride to restaurants and things of the sort. Everything you'll ever need for a home away from home is already provided to you by Susan. My girlfriend and I will definitely be back for many more weekends to come.

This house was amazing! It was very true to the era in which the house was built. If you want to stay in history, this is a perfect match! The house is fully furnished, and very spacious.

Kay's place is very cozy. The drive to her house is so absolutely beautiful and pristine- the property the home sits on is as well. It's very relaxing and quiet because you're surrounded by nature. The home was definitely large enough for our party- 4 adults and 3 children. Two bathrooms were a plus and we had plenty of space to spread out. Kay provided complimentary coffee, juice, water and granola bars. Kay was available via text and I knew I could contact her if we needed anything. She was very friendly and helpful. Kay's place is a lovely retreat set in picturesque Virginian farm country. The historic house accommodates a large group easily, and is perfect for over-nighting to explore the wine country. Kay is welcoming, very responsive and very accommodating!

This AirBnB is the equivalent of a 5-star hotel. I have never been more impressed. The house is located in a quiet, secluded neighborhood and is extremely organized and clean. You would think the lady of the house is a professional interior designer! The inside is beautiful and very relaxing. We were greeted at the door with warm smiles and were offered baked lasagna. The hosts couldn't have been more friendly. We chatted over wine upon our arrival and shared stories. The memory foam bed is like sleeping on a cloud. Other than your room and bathroom upstairs, there is an entire lounging area with a massaging chair faced towards the flatscreen TV for your personal use. Want to spend time outside? Enjoy the jacuzzi on the patio or walk 30 seconds to the golf course while you drink your coffee. This couple is SO FANTASTIC in taking care of any and all needs you may have. I travel for work, and I finally found my "go-to" place the next time I'm in the area. Trust me, book this place and don't think twice about it, there isn't enough space for me to describe how great of an experience this was. 10/10, 5 stars across the board. THANK YOU GUYS. We loved our stay at Miranda's place. She and her husband are very attentive to guests. Their place is very clean and the bed and pillows are very very comfortable. They have two lovely cats who are very cute but for people who fear pets like my girlfriend ,Miranda and her husband has put a gate on top of steps so that the pets don't come upstairs. I would recommend Miranda's place to anyone looking for a place to stay in Richmond area.

The home of Miranda and Jason is greeted with smiles. Very clean and comfortable. They are very new at hosting so it was exciting to know we are their first Review on here. Great location right near the Swift Creek Reservoir, which has the famous "The Celebrations at the Reservoir" literally minutes away from their home convenient to stay here if your friends are having a wedding in town. They supplied everything you need. Our one night plan turned into two. We will be coming back when passing through for business or pleasure. This property is gorgeous. The first floor is open and spacious enough for over a dozen guests to sit comfortably. The two bedrooms upstairs were comfortable and the bathrooms nicely appointed. The property is beautiful with horses visible from the windows all day. It is not far from civilization but far enough that it feels like a country outing. I highly recommend staying here as opposed to a hotel of the same cost (especially if you will need a couple of rooms).

This house is very spacious and is gorgeous! Tina was very accommodating for our needs. Trying to find a place who allows 3 dogs is very stressful, but Tina was very understanding.

It was a delight to be with Rebecca and Keith for a few days. They are interesting people, and we had some great conversations, yet I had plenty of privacy when I wanted it. They were highly responsive to any little request I had, though there were few. When I needed a power strip, they immediately provided it. Their home is beautiful, roomy and in a wonderful treed setting near a gorgeous lake. There were great places throughout the house for relaxing, reading, computer work and play. The bedroom was comfortable and nice. If you want to stay in the area of their home, I strongly recommend this experience.

I loved the pets. It felt just like I was home. The bedroom looked over a forested area which was great. They recommended the boathouse as a place to eat. Go there and have awesome shrimp and grits. Rebecca was a great host. I would love to go back on vacation and use the kayaks.

Staying with Rebecca was wonderful. There is a gorgeous walk down to the lake and there are kayaks to use. Our room was beautifully furnished with a super comfy bed. There is a fabulous restaurant on the lake with fabulous food. I highly recommend staying at this accommodation.

My stay here was wonderful! A perfect place for those seeking tranquility, relaxation, and wholesome interaction with warm people. From the quiet location of the neighborhood to the welcoming atmosphere of the house itself, the experience offers opportunity to adjust one's spiritual posture, or simply take a pause from what may otherwise be a life too determined by clamor. Do be sure to say hello to the animals; for those more meandering souls, I recommend the trails around the neighborhood, and especially the nearby lake. This is a great place if you're looking for a quiet spot to relax and access the beautiful lake and neighborhood of Brandermill. Rebecca did a fantastic job and was readily available for everything I needed. I would definitely stay here again.

Keith made this a very pleasant first Air B&B experience! The house and room were just as beautiful as described. His recommendation of a local restaurant (The Boathouse) situated right on the surrounding lake was also spot on! The morning coffee was a welcome and most appreciated bonus! Our hosts were so kind and communicative. They greeted us upon arrival and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The property was beautiful and the apartment was perfectly appointed and cozy! We would love to come back as often as possible.

Ours was a beautiful studio apartment. The place is well secluded, you can easily spot the milky way,in the night sky. Everything was nice and clean.they provide you with a lot of free stuff, and quite a few board games if you want to spend time indoors. They welcome extra guests too! 5/5 will go again.

Amy and her family were lovely hosts, very attentive and accommodating. Before booking, I asked about an air mattress as an additional bed as I was traveling with my teenage son and daughter. Amy was so responsive in replying to me and providing everything we needed. We too enjoyed farm fresh eggs and just picked tomatoes in addition to other lovely snacks and breakfast foods. We asked about a deck of cards and Amy quickly returned with board games, cards and some DVDs. It was a lovely experience and a great location for our college visit to Longwood University.

Pete and Amy were very responsive to all communication. We were in town for my son's wedding which was close by. Pete and Amy were very generous accommodating us with an early check-in and allowing the bride and female attendants in the wedding party to get ready there. They also left some sweet "extras" for the newlyweds! The apartment is beautifully furnished and very comfortable. We all enjoyed our stay and would go back in a heartbeat!

Pete and Amy were excellent host! We enjoyed a restful stay on their homestead. They are extremely close to the High Bridge (rails to trails) park. We enjoyed this hike with our young family. Farmville is really only a stones throw away, making this an ideal location for Hampton-Sydney or Longwood guests.

Pete & Amy's place was exactly as it appeared in the listing, and even better! Although our conflicting schedules didn't allow us to meet them personally, our stay was great. They provided so many things that were above & beyond - fresh donuts, bagels, fresh eggs, milk, cream cheese and more; plus lots of coffee and water. They had lots of bath amenities also: shampoo and conditioner, toothpaste, mouthwash; luckily, we had remembered to bring all of that with us. The apartment was spotless and decorated beautifully and it was perfect for me and my husband and our granddaughter. If we have the need for a place in that area again, we will definitely be contacting them!
