This immaculately kept 3-bedroom cottage on 230 acres of land with a spring-fed river is off grid, powered by solar panels. The West Branch River runs for more than an half mile along its western boundary, and ultimately empties into Hubbard Lake. You can canoe and hike for miles amongst wildlife without seeing humans

You will not find a more solitary setting. There is no man-made noise at this wilderness retreat, except for the sound you make. Get outside and enjoy the nature.
Loons often wake guests at dawn. Owls put guests to sleep (or wake them up) some nights. Coyotes sometime can be heard howling, barking or yelping in the evenings or late at night.
Golfing, Bird watching, canoeing, hiking, fishing, boat trips on beautiful Hubbard Lake (13 square miles large) or day trips to Lake Huron's beautiful sand beaches are some activities available.
This remote sanctuary is typically used as a refuge. Wild turkey, grouse, ducks, deer, bobcat, badgers, black bear and various other wildlife can be spotted, if you're stealth.
The terrain is varied as are the trees, which include birch, oak, maple, hemlock, white pine, red pine, tag alders, cedar, tamarack and more.
Wildlife viewing, fishing, bird watching, huckleberry fields, morel mushrooms and relaxing on deck or laying in hammock are some of the more coveted activities available.
Fire pits for Bon fires at night, if fire danger is low. Wood bundles (hardwood) for sale ($7 per bundle) or you can collect your own wood, which is plentiful in woods. Wood purchase payable at check in.
No power lines within more than a mile of the cabin.
Excellent brook trout and perch fishing in River during right time of year with occasional rainbow trout, pike and walleye taken. Hubbard Lake offers walleye, bass, pike, perch and various other species.
Four person maximum for comfort, although a brand new 2-bunk, bunk house can be rented as well, if there are more than 4 guest. Bunkhouse is $80/night. Payment for bunkhouse rental due at check in. $25 cleaning/laundry fee for bunkhouse.
Weber grill for outside barbecues (bring charcoal, no lighter fluid necessary as chimney starter provided) and full kitchen facilities with everything needed for cooking, serving and eating meals.

Sunset boat cruise on Hubbard Lake, wine, beer, beverages, cheese, crackers, etc included. $175 for 2.5 hour cruise. Maximum 4 guests. Advance reservation required. (Payment due at check in; full refund if inclement weather justifies canceling outing. We are here for fun!)

There are no neighbors. Nearest cabin on road that gets you to my place is more than a mile away.
