The apartment was in an amazing location just minutes away from the best night life in Beirut and plenty of great cafes and bars. We were met by Johnny at the apartment and the check in was smooth and friendly and he left us with plenty of information about the area. The apartment is very spacious and comfortable and feels like a home away from home in a neighbourhood full of Beirut character. highly recommend it.

Johnny is available and helpful. The location is fantastic. Close enough to central awesome area and perfectly tucked on the side where you don't hear the weekend raucous.

The trip started off great with a convenient pick up from the airport that Johnny set up for us. The place itself is very clean and modern. I stayed with 4 people in total and there was plenty of space. The beds are huge and so comfortable, the wifi was fast, and the location was perfect. Mar Mikhael is an awesome neighborhood and there was so much to see and do in walking distance. Johnny was so helpful and nice during the whole thing. Would definitely recommend this AirBnB for anyone staying in Beirut. Thanks Johnny!

An amazing experience! Jhonny was very helpful with us from minute one till we left. The apartment is very clean and in a perfect location. Near the pubs, but in a quite area, so you can rest and enjoy :) Definitely a recommended apartment to stay in Beyrut.

The flat was fab, clean and well equipped. Really excellent location right in Mar Mikhael, convenient for bars and shops, within a short taxi ride of all other attractions in Beirut. Electricity blackouts are a daily occurrence in Beirut at the moment but the block of flats has its own generator, which is generally reliable. Johnny was an exceptionally helpful host and an all round top bloke. He helped us arrange excursions and made recommendations as well as coming round immediately when we couldn't figure out the hot water! Will definitely stay with Johnny again.

My stay at Joseph and Soraya's place was absolutely perfect! Their apartment was as welcoming as them and it took me only 10 seconds until I understood that we could become friends! The accommodation has a very charming design and is also comfy which made me felt like home. You will find everything you need in the flat, hot water, internet, air conditioning, comfy bed and a guitare on the wall :) I was lucky I was sharing the flat with 2 very nice girls who were the first chinese tourists coming to Lebanon!! Concerning the area, the flat is perfectly located in the middle of Mar Mikhael, during the day it's very pleasant to hang around, when the night is coming it becomes busy and you can go out for a (some) drink(s)! But the good point is that if you wanna rest, the flat is in quiet area of Mar Mikhael. Thanks to Joseph, Soraya and some friends in Lebanon my trip there was a complete success. They were always friendly, accessible and gave so much tips that I was able to discover so much different things everyday. If I have the opportunity to come back in Beirut, I'll go back to Joseph's place for sure. I would definitely recommend this flat to anyone! Thanks for everything Joseph and Soraya! (P.S. Joseph and Soraya are some of the warmest and most welcoming people, I had the chance of meeting. They were always on call if I needed something and invited me to join them to restaurants and parties. They will do everything to make sure you feel at home and that is how the place has felt to me for the five weeks I stayed in Beirut. The apartment is ideally located in the heart of Mar Michael. Just far enough off Armenia street not to hear the sound of Beirut's most bustling nightlife. It offers all the comfort you might expect and is exactly as pictured. You get decent internet speeds, by Beirut standards and even have a back up generator that makes the daily power cuts go unnoticed. The apartment gets regularly cleaned. And I loved having breakfast or drinks on the balcony. There are two rooms in the apartment which both get rented out. I had a wonderful stay in Beirut and can't think of any downsides. If I ever get the chance to return, I will book again!

Very nice house and Joseph is very helpfull and quick in his replies. The only downside is that you have to turn a switch at least 90 minutes before you can take a hot shower. But perhaps this is normal in Beirut.

I spent a week in Joseph's flat in Beirut and it was a great first experience with airbnb. Joseph and Soraya made me feel welcomed in the house and made sure I had everything I needed throughout my stay - thank you guys! The flat was clean and well equipped, homely and in a quiet part of Mar Mikhael but still close to everything one might need. The room was also perfect and WanderLust made for a great base throughout my trip. I would definitely recommend staying there to anyone looking for a comfortable and thoroughly enjoyable stay in the city.

Un superbe séjour, en très, très grande partie grâce à Joseph et à Soraya, que nous remercions encore de tout cœur pour leur accueil chaleureux, leur disponibilité, sans oublier le superbe et chouette réveillon du Nouvel An que nous avons passé en leur compagnie et celle de leurs amis, tous aussi passionnants qu'adorables ! L'appartement, absolument bien tenu, fonctionnel et agréable, correspond tout à fait à la description qui en est faite sur le site. Mention spéciale au chauffage efficace, bienvenu en hiver (sachant qu'on n'en trouve pas toujours dans les hôtels libanais), aux vastes rangements totalement disponibles, bien pratique pour les séjours de plus de deux nuits (une attention que n'ont pas toujours les hôtes d'airbnb)... et aux jolis et délicieux biscuits de Noël qui ornaient nos oreillers à l'arrivée ;-) Quant à la localisation, rien à redire : c'est le trendy Mar Mikhael, où l'on peut passer toutes ses soirées sans se lasser, et d'où l'on peut quasiment tout explorer à pied ! NB : zéro inconvénients à ce quartier festif, car la rue est complètement calme et l'immeuble silencieux. Bref : - un super rapport qualité-prix si l'on compare avec d'autres offres dans le même quartier, - une atmosphère 100% beyrouthine qui nous a donné l'impression délicieuse d'appartenir à la ville, - des hôtes tout simplement charmants, que nous adorerons retrouver lors de notre prochain passage au Liban ! (Un 'tip' pour la route : n'hésitez pas à demander à Joseph de vous commander un taxi s'il vous faut venir de / rejoindre l'aéroport, c'est une option avantageuse !)

My girlfriend and I had a great time at Josephs. It is in a great area just down the street from great bars and restaurants. Joseph also invited us several times out with friends. The flat has everything needed to be self sufficient in the city.

For short stay, this place is great. The place is in a great location, the apartment is nice and the Joseph is welcoming. It's important to be aware though that Joseph doesn't have a power generator, so with electricity cuts 3-6 hours per day sometimes, no A/C and no wifi can be inconvenient if not very hot. Also, there is no washing machine. That makes it less comfortable for longer stay. Also, more than two weeks past before the maid cleaned the house, even though this was to be weekly. Although communicated differently, the host was not staying in the apartment during most of my one month stay (for three weeks, various other airbnb guests were), and he could have been more proactive in solving issues (such as A/C issue or cleaning issue). If you are staying for a few days in Beirut, and are aware of this, you will have a great time staying at Joseph's! p.s. the apartment looks exactly like in the pictures

I had a perfect stay at Nisreen's - she was wonderful and made a huge effort for my last minute arrival in Beirut. A lovely and light apartment with two great the terraces. I really recommend staying here!

Nisreen arranged my airport pick-up and was home to meet me. She was helpful with suggestions for places to go and sometimes took me out herself. The flat looks exactly like the photos and is located in what became my favourite Beirut neighborhood. Lots of cool restos, bars, coffee houses, and people. She also arranged my transport to the airport in the middle of the night. Staying at Nisreen's made my first trip to Beirut a satisfying and easy one.

The host made me feel very welcome. And the room was exactly as the information and images outlined. The location of this apartment is perfect if you want to be close to some of Beirut's well known restaurants and bars.

Nisreen was very helpful from the very beginning specially that it was my first time to Lebanon and through Airbnb. The place was exactly like the photos except I thought It was a little bigger, it was very clean and comfortable, the neighbourhood is so lovely and centred and I enjoyed Mar Mikhael and ElGemeza. I felt like home and Nisreen give me all the privacy in a friendly way and kept checking if I needed anything, everything I want was there. I definitely recommend staying with Nisreen:)

The flat does exactly what it says on the tin, it really is cosy, calm and central. The flat is lovely and clean with a very nice spacious feel to it. The room is lovely, perfect for one person with a private balcony. Nisreen invited me to share food that she had cooked a couple of times and was helpful when asked for information on Lebanon. She also introduced me to her friends who took me for days out and really helped me see more of the country. The area is great, easy to get around with plenty of places to eat drink and good nightlife.

This was by far my best stay with AirBnB. Nisreen's apartment is spotless, beautifully decorated, spacious, and located two minutes from the main intersection in Mar Mikhael. Beyond being more than pleased with the room, I felt so welcomed by Nisreen herself. She ordered an airport pickup for me (and allowed me to arrive in the middle of the night, which was very kind of her), advised me on places to go and where to eat, and even let me tag along to a friend's barbecue! She is an excellent host and I look forward to staying with her next time I am in Beirut.

Both Karim and his place are great, and I'm very happy I made the decision to stay with him. Karim had a taxi waiting for me as I arrived at the airport and communication was very good. The place is situated very close to bar/restaurant central, yet a block or so away so that there is never a problem with noise. Pretty much everything you are looking for on holiday, cannot recommend more highly.

What can I say, Karim is a wonderful host, and a truly good person. We were like ships passing in the night for the most part, but when we did get a chance to hang out he was helpful, gave great advice, and was extremely generous. He told us about a tour that ended up being one of my favorite things I did on my trip. He arranged for cabs, gave us a ride, and was available any time I needed anything, if not in person, by phone. His apartment is a peaceful environment, in a neighborhood that is bustling and central, perfect! I walked home every night by myself and felt very safe. Karim is also a mature person, keeps his space clean and organized. Highly recommend!

Staying in Karim's place was probably the best traveling experience I have ever had. Karim became a friend and brother in only 7 days. The apartment is beautiful and he keep it clean and organized at all times. The neighborhood is amazing! Really nice bars and nice places to eat. But truly speaking Karim is the highlight of my trip. This guy is just AWESOME! He answered all my messages and gave me the best advices to move around the city. I will come back next summer and I will stay in this apartment again. Words aren't really fair to translate the experience I had. I'm back home and I miss this place and my Karim so much. You will not regret staying in this place.

Before I even arrived I thought the taxi driver was ripping me off, so I called Karim. He answered (at 5am!), and argued the price for me. Every day Karim would ask what my plans were and give me local advice to make the best of m stay in Lebanon. The bed was very comfortable, the shower hot, and gemmayze really is one of the hippest neighborhoods in Beirut. Overall fantastic experience, and Beirut is now one of my favorite cities in the world.

You are close to the entertainment hub, modern restaurants, architecture with a heritage feel yet with a modern touch to them. When you arrive, you will be wowed. My friend and I we had an awesome stay in Johnny's! The apartment is very well located on Mar Mikhael's most lively streets. The neighborhood is very authentic with plenty of lively bars, shops and a handy supermarket. Directions were very easy. He talked to the taxi driver and he dropped us nearby where they were waiting for us to bring us home! The apartment has just been refurbished and it is very well fitted out with all you need for either a short or long stay. Having dinner and a drink on the balcony is worth it! Highly recommended!

Joseph's flat is the best option to stay in Beirut. The flat is ideally situated, in a calm street but at walking distance from the liveliest and loveliest areas of Beirut : Marmikhael and Gemmayze. The host is very attentive and caring, always available on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) in case his guests have any trouble. The flat is cozy, super well equipped, everything is well explained, and nothing misses : card game, HDMI cable, travel guide... whatever you might need or want is in the flat. You really feel at home and you feel nostalgic when you have to leave!

Joseph's apartment is really nice and practical. It is well located with many bars and restaurants around, very clean and cozy. The perfect choice if you want to discover Beirut and hang out! And Joseph was very helpful and communicative before and during our stay, much appreciated!

The apt was great, clean and fresh. The neigbourhood was excellent, plenty of trendy restaurants and bars. Laid-backand liberal hood. Nathalie provided us with several great recommandations of the hood. A super french bakery next door. Don't forget to check out the stylish design shop run by two Lebanese designers in the same building-Vanina. Many attractions within walking-distance. It was never a problem to get hold of the host, and she was very flexible concerning our arrival in the middle of the night. She also have other apt in the same building. There is a nice quiet rooftop perfect for an evening drink. We loved it! And we will definately recommend it. If we come back we will stay here for sure!

This apartment is amazing! I stayed here with a group of friends for a few days over New Years and had a great time. It's located in the perfect neighbourhood right beside lots of bars and restaurants and easy walking distance to other places. The apartment is beautifully furnished and the beds are super comfortable! A truly fantastic apartment - perfect location, bright and spacious with four really large bedrooms, massive living room and kitchen and a very helpful host. The perfect stay - wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Beirut!

For the first time, we decided not to go to a hotel, instead to search for an apartment. This seemed quite a "anorthodox" decision for a city like Beirut, which nobody of us knew and much was said. Our decision was more than good, as we chose this beautiful apartment, which is not only "a nicely tiled apartment", but as it promises, a whole experience. Before even we arrived, Nathalie and Ramzy were more than helpful with numerous information we needed, they arranged our taxi from the airport and upon arrival, they were there for a "welcome" that only friends could give. The apartment itself is perfectly located where "everything happens" in Beirut and everything is in walking distance. I can't sum up in a more appropriate way than, "Visit Beirut - STAY at THIS APARTMENT".

This is a lovely apartment right on Armenia Street. Location could not be better. Right outside the door you have a strip of bars, cafes and restaurants. Great location for nightlife and bar hopping. The apartment is huge and was very clean. Nathalie made us feel very welcome and we couldn't have enjoyed our stay any more. She was a great host. Will definitely stay here again.

The apartment was great and the pictures are a perfect reflection of what to expect. There is just the right amount of furniture with an open space setup which makes it clean looking and not clustered. Great location in terms of proximity to popular sites in Beirut and also surrounded by cafes bars and restaurants. Natalie was great in responding and advising too. I highly recommend this place.

We spent Christmas and new year's holiday in this beautiful and spacious flat, and had a great time. There were a few hiccups on our arrival with wi-fi and oven not working, but Nathalie fixed everything in a day. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and found Nathalie a great and caring host.

Cozy Modern Apartment. that pretty much sums up this very spacious hip apartment. In terms of location, id give it an A+ (a stone throw away from all the pubs, bars and restaurants) . pretty much as all the amenities one needs. it not only has 1 balcony but 4! Nathalie was super friendly, always making sure that all our needs were met and that if we needed anything, she was always a phone call away! i would definitely rent her apartment again.

Wassim's great, central apartment is a great place to start your first trip to Beirut... though seasoned visitors will know it's an ideal location and may like to choose it too. Mar Mikhael is the busiest part of town - the streets heave with people in the evenings and there is an exotic, exciting vibe everywhere. That does mean that it can be noisy in the evenings, but that's Beirut. We returned to this neighbourhood for its authenticity and busy vibe... and every year it's keeps getting better. We spent a week in Wassim's place and felt comfortable, at home and completely safe. There's a great little terrace overlooking other neighbourhood homes and it's a perfect sun trap in the morning particularly. Wassim couldn't have been more helpful and we had everything we needed. Thanks Wassim, we'll be back soon.

The ideal place for Beirut. Located right in the middle of the hip area of Mar Mikhael, plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. The rest of the city also easy reachable. In the appartment its really quiet and due to the backyard you have quiet nights and dont hear any music and noise from the main street. Really nice, clean and comfortable appartment and great beds. Wassim was always reachable and helped us wherever he could. Even check in at 4:30 am was no problem at all and everything managed by Wassim! Best place to enjoy Beirut!

A bright clean spacious flat right in the middle of a buzzy neighbourhood. Wassim is a pro active helpful host and always available. This place is great if you plan to be out enjoying Beirut's famous nightlife. If you want to stay in, be ready for the sound of the street - loud music from local bars until 2-3 am, as well as barking dogs.

Had a great time in Beirut. Valentina's apartment is an absolute treat! Fun and in a perfect location close enough to bars, quirky shops and a great place to explore the city from, and beyond. Very good night life, culture and history and Valentina was a laid back and accommodating host. Recommend her Airbnb for anyone looking to get a taste of the fun in Beirut!

Valentina was a great hostess! From the moment we inquired about the listing to the moment we checked out she was on-call for any questions and happy to help. She met us with a smile at the pre-arranged time outside the building and helped us settle in and explain the running of the house to us. The apartment itself was wonderful, right in the hustle and bustle of Mar Mikhael, but off a narrow street so that you could enjoy a lie in should you wish. It is a funky/ bright/ warm/ well equipped home with all the amenities one would need for their stay. We made use of the cute kitchen and the outdoor BBQ and spent a few nights on the balcony enjoying city life. There are a multitude of options for dining and entertainment in the area, but most conveniently there is a cafeteria in front of the building if your feeling peckish, and a little shop right downstairs run by a lovely husband and wife, who sell everything one might need for their stay. The beds and couch were comfortable, the place spotless, and the shuttered windows and high ceilings added to a certain charm one only feels in older buildings; and although it was a 4 floor walk-up, it seemed worth the workout once you reached the sanctuary upstairs =) It was a lovely visit! We thank Valentina for her hospitality ! She was a sweet and generous host, and will be sure to return on our next visit and take her up on the Uberhaus offer =)

Die Wohnung ist super gelegen und in sehr gutem Zustand, generell ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen (2 Balkone für zwei Leute!). Auch über meinen Gastgeber kann ich ausschließlich positives berichten, Amr ist nett, umgänglich und hilfsbereit und mittlerweile ein wirklich guter Freund von mir. Summa Summarum kann ich also Amr und seine Inserate ohne Einschränkung weiterempfehlen - der Ort und Mitbewohner gefallen mir so gut, dass ich noch immer hier wohne!

The balconies are wonderful, the flat is perfect and spacious and probably in one of the best locations you can find in Beirut. Amr welcomed me warmly in his place - he's an awesome person, flatmate, host, sports partner and everything!

I can say without a doubt that this is the place you want to stay in Beirut! De apartment is very spacious and in the perfect location. Everything I looked for was close by, such as cafes, restaurants, art galleries. Also, I felt really safe and comfortable in the area. Sophie is such a nice and sweet person! Whatever it is, she will always help you and be there for you. She even made sure here friend picked me up from the airport!

The apartment is great & the location is very good at marmikhael which has a lot of pubs, parties & restaurants, and everything worked out perfectly, sophie was very helpful and she answered all my questions all the time , also the room has cold and hot aircondition & wifi very fast and hot water all day which is amazing, i am really recommend . Johnny's apartment was lovely at the heart of Mar Mkheil. The neighborhood is very lively yet the apartment is situated in a quiet corner along the side streets. The apartment itself is very well equipped and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. I would certainly stay there again. Johnny was kind enough to arrange for my transportation from the airport and was there when I got in to show me around. Would certainly consider staying there again!

Johnny is a great host, this flat is extremely well situated in the heart of Mar Mkhael a lively street with lots of restaurants and bars. Given that the flat is located in a dead-end street, it shield you from the noise and traffic that can occur. The flat is well equipped with a fully functioning kitchen, a clean bathroom and comfortable bedrooms. I would highly recommend this apartment for a stay in the heart of Beirut.

Great apartment in Mar Mikhael, some of beirut's best bars and restaurants steps from Johnny's place. The host met us a bit late in the evening and was very helpful checking us in. Great stay.

We stayed in this charming place for the Weekend & yes itlooks exactly like in the pics unlike most of registered Airbnbs. We had a very pleasant and comfortable experience. The rooms were clean and spacious with a great view & most importantly an AC to survive summer's humidity! It's perfectly located in Mar Mkhayel's vibrant street that's full of awesome bars, restaurants and galleries yet never felt any noise. We also managed to walk almost everywhere in beirut and avoid the traffic. Wassim is definitely one of the best hosts we've ever dealt with on Airbnb. He's very friendly, always reachable and flexible with the check-in and check-out timings. We'll be back for sure!

What a great location, and, truthfully, is this listing's best feature. Mar Mkhail is full of vibrant and attractive pubs and restaurants and we never felt the need to leave the area (albeit our stay was short). The apartment is in an old, typical Beiruti building and, despite some of its shortcomings to the untrained observer, has a great deal of charm and character to it. The rooftop was spacious and cool, but we weren't informed of the residents staying up there, even though none complained. Despite its highly centralised location in the middle of a bustling street, we never heard or felt any noise from the outside and had the pleasure of a Bohemian garden-view landscape which was a delight to wake up to. Wassim was also very responsive to any needs we may have had and made sure we never felt any neglect. Overall, I would recommend staying here to those who are adventurous at heart and wish to explore what the city has to offer.

Wassim is a perfect host, the appartment is very spacious, beautiful, practical and well equipped. Furthermore it's situated in the middle of nice bars and restaurants. There's also a parking next to the house. We were really happy to be there!

My husband and I has lived here for 19days. It is our first time to use Airbnb, we are so so… lucky to meet Karim and spend wonderful time there. He is a man of great taste (I really like every detailed decoration of his house,it is very warm with strong sense of humanity and culture). It is also very clean, quiet and Karim has so many kitchen supplies which makes us feel at home. He usually shares very tasty Lebanese food or sweets with us. His house also has a very convenient location with lots of nice restaurants, bars and groceries stores nearby. Also, it takes only 20 minutes walk to the down town. I would like to recommend him because it could definitely give you a relaxed and happy living experience

Karim could not have been more welcoming and concsientious. He made me feel like I was visiting an old friend and welcomed me to in on dinner parties, outings, etc. He was also accommodating when my plans changed. He is a great person to talk to about Beirut and generously shared his insights -- ranging from permaculture to poetry!

I stayed at Karim's for a bit, while trying to find my own apartment - could not possibly have hoped for any better. Location is great, easy to find, cafés/restaurants/bars all around, neighbors are sweet & apartment is tidy, with interesting books all over, if not interesting conversations. As for Karim, well, he is nothing short of a great host and if you're lucky enough, he might indulge you with fairly good hummus and other exciting delicacies. I would come again, to say the least ;-)

Hakim was such a good host during my four days in Beirut. His directions before my arrival were clear. The house is very enjoyable and located in the cool part of town, next to the bars and good eateries, but in a side street meaning the noise does not reach. The room is simple but comfortable, though the internet signal is quite weak. Hakim is very helpful and a great conversation partner, I recommend staying here.

Karim is a very nice and friendly person. His instructions are very helpful and accurate, he willingly shares his knowledge with their guests. The apartment is clean and spacious. My visit in Beirut passed stress-free and in a pleasant atmosphere. I highly recommend staying at Karim.
