Georgiana (Georgie) Kendall is a 5th generation Kendall living in her family’s 200-year old farmstead on 45-acres of deciduous forest, open fields of wildflowers on the water's edge with her dog-like cat named Seamus. Georgie has an undergraduate degree from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, Canada and a Master's degree from the University of Southern Maine in Portland. Following graduate school she joined the Peace Corps and served as a school and community resource volunteer in South Africa. Since her return a decade ago Georgie has worked in the fields of social services and economic development from training and education to owning an ever changing collection of small businesses-- The Red Sleigh, gallery, gifts and a gourmet farmers' market for 5 years, Kendall Farm Cottages, a seasonal rental business on her farm for 15 years and started Red Sleigh Tours a year ago. Georgie's passion other than her home is travel. She travels at least once a year to a different international destination. She loves local markets, learning about different cultures, eating different foods, and scuba diving whenever possible.
As your hostess at Kendall Farm you can be sure she will share with you the history and culture of the area, the wonders of the natural environment the area has to offer, veggies and homemade wine from the farm. Georgie has a plethora of knowledge and information to share with you about where to go and what to see when you are staying in her neck of the woods in Downeast, Maine and 50 other countries if that interests you too!
