"Pictures Do Not Do Justice" is a common exclamation we receive from arriving guests. This house is located on 4 tropical acres, is secluded and gated, and just 1 mile from PR3. Mountain & Ocean Views. Close to one of the best beaches on the island, Luquillo Monserrate, the El Yunque Rain Forest (we are in front of it), and just 25 mins. to Old San Juan or the Fajardo ferry to Culebra & Vieques. Large, clean comfortable bedrooms, plenty of space for you to enjoy inside and out!
Large house private and hidden among a rain forest jungle, on a small mountainside overlooking the valley, with the ocean visible from your patio. Many tourist attractions within 10-15 minutes. You stay like a local but have all the attractions easily available to you. You will hear birds, frogs and roosters -- you WILL NOT hear other parties/groups/screeching tires/loud sirens. It's peaceful and tranquil and surrounded by nature! A light misty rain usually passes quickly by around 3 a.m.

Interacció amb els hostes
Hosts are available 24/7 if necessary, otherwise completely respect guests' privacy. The house is all concrete with 10" of concrete between the first and second floors. Hosts have a separate entrance and parking. Many guests have expressed comfort knowing that hosts are nearby to address unexpected issues and quickly answer any questions. Five star reviews have consistently been earned by owners' attention to details inside and out.
Altres aspectes destacables
Owners are animal lovers. They have a small beagle mix named "Domino" that is very docile and friendly. Feral cats (named Mama Cat, Tigger, Houdini, and Goldie) call the mountainside home, but are NOT allowed into the house. As with many islands, over-population of cats and dogs is an ongoing problem, and we have tried to do our part by having the animals that live around the mountain spayed and neutered and are cared for.
This is a private, secluded, well-maintained, clean, newer family vacation home tucked into a mountainside of lush rainforest tropical greenery -- NOT a crowded beach front apartment or condo next to dozens of other travelers. Absolutely no smoking inside the house, outside is fine. Occupancy over 6 MUST be pre-arranged and costs $25 per person/per night. No tolerance for groups showing up with more individuals than what has been originally reserved.
We are not hard to get along with and we welcome all guests to our property. Because of a few very rare instances, we set the following rules:
No raging parties. Excessive noise after midnight outside on patio not tolerated. The house is concrete with 8-10" walls, so noise inside is not an issue or concern. But noise outside resonates around the mountainside, and we do not want (nor have we had) noise complaints from residents around the mountain.
No additional visitors that are not guests allowed on the property without pre-approval. If approved, not to exceed 5 persons.
When you book this property, you get the best of both worlds! You get the local tour guide and you get the tourist! Hector was born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico. He moved to Michigan when he was 19. He and Kim have been married since 1992 and vacationed to the island many many years. In 2001 they found two acres of land for sale near a niece's house that they always ended up staying at because of its close proximity to many attractions on the island, beaches, and the airport. In 2009 and 2010 they constructed their vacation home, and in 2014 decided to share it with other travelers because it saddened them to leave the house vacant while they were back in Michigan. In August 2015, they moved to the island to construct a second floor unit and manage the vacation rental house. Since then they have devoted their time to ensuring that each group of guests experience what it's like to live on the island, by making sure the house is comfortable, equipped, and surrounded by tropical nature. Enjoy your vacation and come back!
