The Cape Suite at GreatOceanVistas, Monticello Apollo Bay is ideal for a couple for a romantic getaway. It also has a bedsitter for a 2nd couple. It has a huge sundeck 9X5metres + undercover verandah with huge barbecue, wok burner hot/cold water.
Cape Suite has a "MotherNature Kitchen" see photos and has a large stainless steel barbecue, with wok burner, hot and cold water basin. Cook and enjoy the view! This barbecue is outside on the adjoining deck area. There is a microwave and kettle inside.

Great Ocean Vistas is situated on the Monticello property and is nestled in the foothills of the Otway Ranges overlooking Apollo Bay township and its magnificent coastline. The property is just 600m walk to the wide, almost endless Apollo Bay beach which is perfect for swimming, fishing, rambling amongh the rock pools or just spending a relaxing day stretching out on the pristine white sands. For the active, there is the Great Ocean Walk and for the adventurous, hang-gliding from the nearby Marriners Lookout.

Apollo Bay itself is in the middle of the famous Great Ocean Road on Victoria's South West Coastline. It is 190km from Melbourne along a picturesque route and is around a 2.5 hour drive.

The Monticello property is private, secluded and quietly situated on 8.5 acres yet just above the Apollo Bay township. It abounds with native plants and animals, has its own temperate rainforest and fern gully, while remaining only a short walk of 600m to the beach

Cape Suite
Sleeping 2-4 people, this suite is ideal for a romantic getaway. It comprises 1 queen size bedroom and 1 queen sofa bed in the living room. The "Mother Nature" kitchens on the private balcony allow one to capture the spectacular coastal views from Cape Patton and far out to sea, to the fern valley below Marriner's Lookout. In winter, continue to take in the breathtaking views while cosy by the award winning natural flame gas fire.

Great Ocean Villa
Soaring cathedral ceilings with wrought iron chandeliers, natural timbers, vast dining and entertainment area, large games room, and wall to ceiling windows to ensure that every degree of the spectacular view is captured. Mezzanine main bedroom opens to the Travertine lined bathroom. Best bath and loo views ever! Separate shower. Charming double bedroom downstairs and under-stair powder room.

Terracotta paved private balcony surrounds the entire Villa allowing sublime views along the coastline as far away as Cape Patton to Point Marengo.

A private and sheltered courtyard, terracotta paved and bordered by a delightful terraced garden, also has views to the sea through the villa windows. Perfect for a barbecue or just relaxing in the sun! In winter, the highly efficient \"Lopi\" woodheater, brought from Seattle, gives generous warmth while you gaze at the dancing flames!

Fully equipped, open plan kitchen fitted to a professional standard, with a huge walk around pantry, and you still have the view!

The Villa would suit a couple, 2 couples or small family.
It would also suit a small conference, as the entire house (Villa and both Suites) can be opened up as one (up to 14 as 7 couples).

The property is in an amazing spot. The views from the terrace are breathtaking. However, it is quite far to the village and the walk back is up a very steep hill. Also, there is no real kitchen facilities which was not what I understood from the description. Otherwise we had a great time in apollo bay.

Owner response. the website does give detail of distances to beach, to town, nearest bus stop etc so sorry if this was not noted. We also describe the Mother nature kitchen and show a photo, but thanks have added some further description on this. Yes to get such a great panorama from Cape Paton to Marengo there is a rise to be made. Hope the Otway run was a wonderful experience too.

Suzanne was a pleasant host. She communicated well with us. The abode is actually a granny flat behind her house with a connected second granny flat next door. This can be problematic with noisy neighbours. Some maintenance is required on some doors as the front door opened on its own over night causing an influx of mosquitos and spiders as well as the issue of safety. The bedroom door doesn't close either. Although, it was only an issue when all the bugs got in and ate us alive! Attention to detail would have made Suzanne's granny flat a much better and comfortable stay. I wasn't offended that there was a tin of fruit salad for us that expired 15 months ago. The couch converted into a fold out bed. Handy for when you have disagreement with the other half but they'd have no sheets to sleep on. I thought it was very much overpriced for what we got. Another thing to note is that there are no kitchen facilities. Cooking is done on the barbecue (with side gas burner) outside. This is something to consider if you plan to stay here during the colder months. There is also no oil and only 200mls of milk which is not enough for two people over two days. Positives included a layout that maximised the lack of space, spit system air conditioning in bedroom, great view, quiet when the noisy neighbours weren't home and close to the Main Street.

there seems to be some miscommunication here as listed: - as we the owners were present that weekend, we personally did the preclean, ensuring that the place was vacuumed, despite the fact that it had been professionally cleaned after our last recent guests. [ it is the country and one can get a spider thereafter: that is the country. in fact I raised that with the guests when they were lost on the property and came to our door looking for the Cape suite] - the website quite clearly states " a mother nature kitchen outside".. again I raised the fact at the door of the large barbecue, with a wok burner, basin with hot and cold water. beside this i(URL HIDDEN)deck. - the front door of the suite was locked, so I do not understand what has happened here. I did note however that the place was left unsecured, as the key box code was not scrambled. the front door however was locked. Moreover, the cedar double doors from the bedroom onto the large deck were left ajar. I was readily able to close these so again I do not know what the problem was here? - the booking was for a couple and we certainly supplied high quality linen for the ensuite bedroom as requested. the bedsitter room separate to this, can accommodate another couple, although of course this is at an extra cost, plus we need to know about the need for a second lot of linen. the booking was quite clearly for a couple having a quiet stay away - given we the owners were present all weekend, the couple could have come to our door again to report their issues. - we do not advertise as a B&B. We supply a starter pack of cereal and milk for the first day - we felt the weekend was incredibly quiet at the property- who were the noisy neighbours and I don't understand the comment "close to the main street" as we are on 8 1/2 acres of land, with 92 acres behind us with no street around. This is a lovely location and the view over Apollo bay was absolutely incredible - such a nice place to read a book or have a wine on the deck. We thought the place needed a more thorough clean - a few dead spiders around, and communication on the day regarding earlier check in wasn't great. Otherwise, a great stay.

For this visit we communicated electronically as we were overseas traveling at the time. We did have back up support via a manager and organised a preclean via our contracter. In a rural property however little critters may appear. With the differences in time the agreement for the request on the day for earlier checkin was made as early as was possible. I understand the agreement was not taken up. Pleased guests enjoyed the view as much as we do ourselves!

Excellent stay! The views were amazing, the suite is really nice and spacious, and very useful (everything works a treat). Suzanne was very responsive and helpful with some questions and requests. Overall a very enjoyable stay!
