Relax and recharge yourself sharing my warm and welcoming farmhouse home, where you will feel at home away from home. Wonderful views of the island, take invigorating coastal walks, gaze at the night sky & enjoy delicious seasonal home cooked food.
'Dar es Salaam' meaning place of peace in Maltese, is one of the oldest houses in the village, built around 400 years ago, with one metre thick stone rubble walls. Cool in the hot summer months and warm and cosy in winter.A property to take care of for the next generation...
Full of character and furnished in Arabic and African style, reflecting the overseas life of your host. The house has commanding views across the island of Gozo and is a short walk from magnificent coastal cliffs.
The house is fully licensed as a home stay with the Malta Tourism Authority.
Modern technology, in the form of solar energy, and low energy lighting, means the house generates a surplus of energy. I compost all my kitchen waste and recycle and manage water as efficiently as I can.
Your breakfast, which can accommodate any dietary needs, will be plentiful, locally sourced with seasonal or home made ingredients and varies from day to day.
Towels are provided and a hair dryer if needed. You can borrow masks & snorkels if required.

As much or as little as my guests wish. Peter is passionate about Gozo and knows the island intimately. He can advise you or even guide you on lovely local walks, quiet spots to swim and relax, arrange activities to stimulate mind and body, as well as visits to sites of historical interest.
I am passionate about 'vegetarian' cooking, especially with the lovely seasonal fruits and vegetable of the island and can take you foraging in the winter months for the many wild herbs and edible plants.

I have excellent contacts on Gozo and can arrange opportunities to meet local artists, participate in local cooking lessons, have private yoga lessons or indulge in the many therapies available from qualified practitioners on the island. For the more active, I can arrange sea kayaking, biking, segway tours, boat trips and even rock climbing.
I try and live in harmony and with our environment, and keep my carbon footprint as low as possible, on an island with increasing scarce water resources. All I ask is for you to join me in doing the same. No smoking please inside the house.
My home reflects me and a life spent living and working in wonderful countries in Africa and the Middle East. Home is now Gozo, where I am proactive in environmental conservation and a volunteer in national heritage work. A keen walker, photographer, diver and sailor, I love the sea. Our wonderful local fruit and vegetables are a source of great creative joy and I am delighted to share my passion for life on Gozo with my guests.
