I am disappointed that I have to write a response of this nature. I have hosted hundreds of guest so far through Airbnb. Nancy is the first guest I have had a less than stellar experience with. This review is over embellished and many parts are flat out not true. To start with, there were no "repairs" need for the TV. I decided to call her the first night of her stay after receiving a frantic message through Airbnb that the "TV was broken". The TV has never been an issue so I was definitely startled. After talking with her for about a minute, the cable was working just fine! The issue? Cable box needed to be turned off and turned back on for the picture to display. This was a one time issue and I would hardly say she was "trouble shooting it herself". I believe Comcast sent out an update, and just needed to be off for a second to upload the new info. As for the a/c situation. There are several HVAC systems in the condo. I offered to have the building engineer look at the "noisy" HVAC unit while she was away (as to not disrupt her privacy) but she declined. Even on a hot day, she was able to turn off the bedroom unit and still get the temperature of the entire place, including the bedroom, to well below 70 degrees. She was not stranded in 95 degree heat like her review implies. Dishwasher works great, not sure why she said this, just a flat out lie. The closet she said was not large enough is a walk in closet, dimensions are 4ft x 11ft, which is significantly larger than hotel closet options. There was a small rollaway bed tucked in the back that didn't obstruct any part of the clothing hanging area and I offered to come remove it, to which she declined. In addition there are 3 large dressers with several drawers (6-8 drawers in each), none of which have fallen out during normal use. My family, my friends, and I have all slept in the condo multiple times, not sure why she said we haven't, another lie. Also, because I want to ensure the best quality for guests I typically am the one to clean the unit before and after guests arrive so not sure why she said a cleaning crew is just sent in there. The condo is 812sq ft, I think she could have easily found somewhere to put her shoes. If not, I'd be happy to give her some suggestions! She wouldn't have needed her to "let me in to the condo", she was just adamant that no one enter the condo while she was not there. That's totally fine by me, I want guests to feel like they have a private, secure, and enjoyable stay. However, in my experience, this typically means there are more guests using the condo than are listed on the reservation and they don't want to get caught. I went above and beyond for this women like I do all of my guests. Typically the Airbnb community is very kind, friendly, and enjoy their experience at my places. It was frustrating to encounter someone that was so negative, dramatic, and put forth false information. Hopefully this will be my last experience like this one!
