Our place overlooks a wetland, and the suikerbos mountain. It is close to great restaurants and 5 minutes walk away from beautiful mountain walks, trout fishing dams and mountain bike trails as well as many good restaurants. Dullstroom is also the half way mark to Kruger Park. Your booking includes the whole house with each bedroom having their own private balcony.
Our house is a triple store, Swedish style, timber frame house. The bottom level consists of two rooms, one of which is the first bedroom with a small on-suite bathroom, couch, fantastic fireplace and private balcony. The second floor is an open plan kitchen, dining room, TV nook and lounge with another great fireplace. The second floor opens onto a balcony with a in-built barbecue and outdoor table and chairs. The top floor is the master bedroom with, sauna and shower, a big leather couch and a private balcony. The outdoor furniture is taking a bit of a knock from the sun and we'll probably replace it soon. The top room also has a fireplace but this is temporarily out of order and needs to be repaired. A strong wind damaged it last spring. We have a heater in the top room to keep you warm and cosy as it does get chilly in winter. There is a huge garden that we keep mostly wild because of the stunning wild orchids that come up in spring time.

Unfortunately we won't be in Dullstroom as we have recently moved to Johannesburg. You can, however contact Les Adams who has agreed to manage the house for us while we are away.
Altres aspectes destacables
Your keys will have a gate remote control to open the gate, a front door key and a key to your bedroom. The gate does not close automatically, please close it on your way out.
The road from Belfast to Dullstroom has many potholes as does the road from Mashishing to Dullstroom. Please drive carefully as they are difficult to spot. Try and avoid driving these roads after dark if you can.
We have listed our house address as 369 Piet Retief street. It is actually 369 Ukhozi Drive. Piet Retief street is the old address. Unfortunately online maps still documents our street as Piet Retief which is why we give the old address. As you drive up to our street you will see it is signposted 'Ukhozi Drive' so don't get confused you are in the right street.
If you would like a cleaning service while you are here you can arrange it with Les Adams directly. It will cost an extra R190 per day.
- Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am. This is a courtesy to our neighbours and to the town as a whole.

- Smoking is allowed but only outdoors and on the balconies.
- You are welcome to invite people around and have fun but please be respectful of noise levels for our neighbours.
Don and I moved to Dullstroom on a whim and we love it. We both freelance. I'm involved in research, environmental learning and social change and Don is a computer programmer. I love my job which is about learning to bring about change in the world. I mostly work with environmental activists and researchers. We have an old cat who lives at the top of our house most of the time. We love traveling but we don't do much traveling at the moment as our old cat needs us in her twilight years. Don loves cooking and has a passion for orchids. We like living a simple, quiet life when we are not traveling or working and are lucky enough to have found such a beautiful home where we can simply be.
