This charming old farmhouse is located on a 47-acre tree farm in a rural area, and offers a unique and spectacular place for hikers, bikers, and lovers of the South Carolina countryside and rivers. The Clarkson Guest House is only a short drive from the Columbia Vista, Univ. of South Carolina, Ft. Jackson Army Training Center, Shaw and McEntire Air Force Bases.
The Clarkson Guest House was built by Army Sgt. Z.C. Clarkson upon his return from the war WWII . After the war ended he ran a successful logging and sawmill company and constructed the home with pine and hardwoods from the Congaree Swamp.
Voted as one of the top ten places in the US to view the solar eclipse in August 2017. The eclipse was the first total solar eclipse since 1979 that passed over the continental United States. The Clarkson Guest House was a perfect place to enjoy this unique astronomical event to the fullest.
