We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Howestead! The home is very spacious and provided ample room for our group of 10. Tom was easily accessible if we had questions and a local maintenance person is nearby if there are any issues (we didn't have any). The bunk room was perfect for our younger children, ages 7-10. Adults were very comfortable in the 2 master bedrooms and in the lower, full-size bunks of the 3rd bedroom. Lots of shopping nearby so you really only need to pack your clothes! There were plenty of bath towels, toilet paper, paper towels, dishes, spices/condiments, etc. The beach is lovely and sandy and shallow enough for younger kids. The swim platform adds great fun for older swimmers! We launched our pontoon just up the road at the public launch and were able to use the pontoon lift attached to the dock. Big Lake is a beautiful, quiet lake. Large enough for power boating between the hours of 11 and 7pm and small enough to be fun and safe for the kayaks provided. We fished both off the dock and off the pontoon; the kids caught small pan fish and we saw several walleye! The huge yard was so nice to have on the cloudy days; we played horseshoes and with the wiffle ball equipment provided. There are board games, puzzles, and ping pong inside, too! Strong WIFI and Direct TV. All around a great place for a vacation getaway.
