Close to EPIC, Madison, Janesville and more, our home offers serene, country living just off the beaten path. We have three spaces listed since our two kids are in college. All our listings have a private bathroom and more. Each space is different.

L'allotjament

This listing is for Room#1 of 3 -Upstairs bedroom and bathroom listing of my UW-Madison, son's room.

Please consider booking a few days with us, unplug from the pressure cooker of city life and just breathe, read a book, take a nap and go for a long walk, down a quiet country road without needing to drive for hours and hours to get there. This is our little slice of Heaven.

We are friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We can interact with you as much or as little as you like. Depending on the weather and if you are familiar with horses, for a small fee, I can give you a riding lesson in our large outdoor arena or go for a trail ride at one of our many, horses friendly, county parks.

This is our primary residence with 3 listings while our children are off to college. Their rooms and bathrooms standing vacant and thus, available to host Air BNB guests. We are not a formal bed and breakfast but we have an amazing location, just off the beaten path, in a peaceful and relaxing environment and have coffee, tea and basic breakfast items included.

We do not have central air conditioning but due to the way the house is situated on our lot, large eves and many windows, the house stays very comfortable. The downstairs has air conditioning.

Country life at its best! Close to EPIC and downtown Madison. We have a fenced orchard for dogs to use in front of the house as well as sections of the sheep paddock that can be used by a dog who doesn't know how to jump higher than 4 feet. You are responsible for cleaning up after your pets. We will show you where the appropriate equipment is and where the waste goes for the each type of pet.

If you have brought a cat, you should bring your own litter box. We will show you where to put the bagged up kitty waste as needed. Please call if you have any other questions about our pet policy which is thoroughly described in our house rules.

There is a playground, an outdoor riding arena, and a 6 acre fenced field with a walking path that has a friendly, large mulberry tree at the back of our property with a bench where you can really enjoy the sounds of Nature. There is a small bonefire area in the back for "camping out" visitors. There is no electricity, water or restroom in the back.

We have a front porch for you to greet the rising sun with plenty of space for morning yoga, during the warmer months. It is surrounded by our butterfly garden and feels very private even though it is in front of the house.

We have a deck off the back where we often enjoy watching the sun set. There is a very comfortable futon, plenty of seating and a table with a large umbrella. There is plenty of space for yoga on the deck, as well as front of the deck, in the yard.

There are many gardens in various stages of maintenance. In 2014, our family was hit with massive health issues and the gardens were put on the back burner. I am still working to reclaim them and enhance them.

There is plenty of outdoor parking by the barn, the garage and behind the house if you need handicap access to the upstairs. Handicap access to the downstairs listing is through the garage.

Serveis i zones comuns

The upstairs is accessible through the front or back door as well as the lower level. The handicap parking and ramp is off the back of the house for use to get into the upstairs listings.

Desk, dresser and a section of the closet in upstairs bedroom can be used by guest.

Interacció amb els hostes

We are home most days, all day. I spend most of my time out in the gardens or with the animals. My husband is disabled from cancer so he is around, but inside more than me.

We can interact with you as much or as little as you desire. We go to bed pretty early so if you are a night owl, you probably will have the house to yourself. Our mornings are pretty slow and quiet too. Things run slow out here. A perfect getaway from the city.

Altres aspectes destacables

We do not allow smoking near any of the buildings on the property, especially the hay - common sense reminds us that many, many things are flammable on a farm. When the weather is pleasant, we generally light a bonefire and enjoy a cold beverage, fireflies and the Milky Way.

We have in-house wifi but it is not very reliable. We are hoping to have cable laid late this summer to provide consistent service for both my husband's line of work in IT and for our guests. It is encouraged to check your data limits as it is easy to run over that out here.

Our pet policy should be clarified. Ahna, our GSD lives inside and is a Service Dog in Training. She is respectfully friendly to all other humans, dogs and cats. Every day reinforces her training and we ask that all guests please abide by the common cues of OFF, sit, stay, down, come and maintain the acceptable, calm behavior we expect from this wicked smart, loving dog. She sleeps in the master bedroom with Renée so no guest should feel like they have to interact with any of the fur family.

Please notify us immediately that you will be bringing your own animal. We will need a few items that keeps both of us safe. We need a copy of the current year's vaccinations, brief health history and comfort level with strange animals. All animals must be collared and should be microchiped. Living out in the country means collars fall off and people who see a lost dog, often take them in to help find the owners. Microchipping helps animals find their family quickly.

Basic obedience cues are required in a dog over the age of 1 as is being house trained. The basics include but not limited to off, down, sit, stay and come. Again, this is a health and safety issue as we don't want anyone injured. Healthy, well socialized and trained animals cause few problems.

A crate is required for any dogs or cats if you will be leaving the animal(s) on site while you visit one of the many attractions near us. This protects the house from any accidents as well as protects the animal from getting into something they shouldn't.

Cats are welcome too and if you feel your feline family member needs "alone" time, we can make the downstairs bathroom that space, although we highly suggest you bring a crate for them in case you need to leave the property without them . Our 2 cats rarely come inside during the warm weather but during winter time, they spend most of their time inside but we let them decide.

If you are traveling with HORSES, please call 2 days in advance so we have a biosecure area for your equines. We could host up to 4 horses. We do require a current Coggins and health certificate from your vet.

Again, another health and safety issue. We want your horses to enjoy their stay and keep everyone healthy. We live on clean well water with a few private turnout/stall options available. You do need to provide your own hay, grain and supplements. We have a 90 x 144 foot outdoor area and a little over 6 acre electric fenced field with a path. A future mulit-use park, including horse trails, has been bought by our county with a tentative 2018 date to have trails cleared. Our property is 100 feet from one of the corners of this park. We have at least 4 vet clinics within minutes of our homestead, several specialists within 50 miles as well as the UW-MADISON Vet School within about 30 min from our farm. Drive time may vary.

There are numerous, quality farriers, chiropractors and body workers that can be scheduled to meet you on site if your horse is in need of additional work. We do charge a $10 booking fee for scheduling these appointments. The sooner you let us know what your needs are, the sooner we can ensure you acquire an appointment with the correct specialist.

There is a $10/night stall fee. The stall fee includes a bedded stall that is cleaned daily and turnout to the outdoor arena or a small paddock near the sheep. This is dependent on the maturity of the horse as well as the weather. We want to keep everyone happy and healthy and not have a horse decide to go through a fence to get at the other horses.

This is our home and we strive to provide the highest standards in maintaining a homey, space that is clean, quiet and peaceful. We LOVE hosting through Air BNB but ask you to remember Renée juggles the responsibilities of being a Mom, a full-time caregiver to her husband who has a very serious form of cancer and our guest's needs.

Please forgive the occasional chaos areas as we really do LIVE in this house. Our children come and go as college life allows so Renée is able to host guests when they are not home and her husband is well enough to handle the comings and goings of life.

We are not a hotel nor a traditional bed and breakfast but we do work hard to provide similar amenities as you would find elsewhere.

The rest of the house is shared space with our family. We are home pretty much the entire time working in the gardens or with the animals. The kitchen is not available to guests without permission.

In simple terms, you break it, fix it or let us know immediately so it can get fixed. If you open something, close it. If you see something closed, ask permission before opening it. If you use the last of something, let us know right away so it can be replaced in a timely manner. Do not go into any of the animal containment areas without permission. Please have clean hands before touching any of the animals - biosecurity is important. When in doubt - ASK. We don't bite and are easy to work with. We want you to enjoy your stay.

No smoking inside nor by the buildings. Drinking is allowed for individuals over the age of 21 but please do not over indulge. Again, we want you to enjoy your stay in a safe and healthy way. Do not drive on the grass unless you need handicap access to the upstairs listing.

We do not allow smoking near any of the buildings on the property, in general, especially the hay - common sense reminds us that many, many things are flammable on a farm.

Here are more explicit details on our pet policy. Pets are welcome but you do need to clean up after them. We will show you where the necessary equipment is so that you can dispose of their waste properly. Read on for the details of bringing your pet(s) with.

Ahna, our GSD lives inside and is a Service Dog in Training. She is very young and sometimes, still thinks she is a little puppy, at 60+ lbs, thus the need for everyone to be calm around her and use common obedience cues listed below, especially OFF. Use your hands or knees to maintain your personal space as sometimes she just wants to cuddle. Ahna is respectfully friendly to all other humans, dogs and cats. She is not an aggressive dog nor is she submissive dog.

She is a generally confident dog without vices. Every day reinforces her training and we ask that all guests please abide by the common cues of OFF, sit, stay, down, and come as well as have acceptable, calm behavior we expect from this wicked smart, loving dog. She sleeps in the master bedroom with Renée so no guest should feel like they have to interact with any of the fur family.

A crate is required for any dogs or cats if you will be leaving the animal(s) on site while you visit one of the many attractions near us. Please bring your own dog food and containers to feed and water your dog(s) and cat(s).

Cats are welcome too and if you feel your feline family member needs "alone" time, we can make the downstairs bathroom that space, although we highly suggest you bring a crate for them in case you need to leave the property without them. A covered litter box can be provided for a $5/day fee but you would still need to clean and dispose of the waste as directed when you arrive.

If you are traveling with HORSES, please call 2 days in advance so we have a biosecure area for your equines. We could host up to 4 horses. We do require a current Coggins and health certificate from your vet.

Again, another health and safety issue. We want your horses to enjoy their stay and keep everyone healthy, your horses and ours. Renee took us in on short notice and was quick w responses and super sweet when we got in despite it being a little late at night. We didn't get a chance to explore the farm much but it looked beautiful in the morning as we left. Room was comfy and bathroom was clean and there some granola bars/ waters for us! It's off the beaten path and very quiet, secluded place to stay!

Renee is a wonderful woman who goes out of her way to make you comfortable in her Oregon farmhouse. We enjoyed our stay, including the wide open, quiet spaces surrounding this small, working farm. With horses, sheep, chickens, a very old cat and an incredibly smart, well trained, young German Shepard this visit to a Wisconsin countryside home was more different than any city dweller might expect. Renee's home was wonderful. It feels secluded but is very close to town with restaurants etc. Renee was very communicative and welcoming, but gave us plenty of space in the morning. I would not hesitate to recommend her place!

We had an absolutely wonderful time with Renee. The location is easily reachable by car, secluded and quiet at night, and only a few minutes' drive from downtown Oregon. The room was clean and comfortable and the family was very hospitable. Renee was also kind enough to show us around her homestead, which is beautiful and makes for wonderful walking and jogging as long as you are OK with being watched by horses and sheep! All in all it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely stay here again if we return to Wisconsin.
