First of all I would like to thank you for your nice words about me and my mother. However, I would like to make some comments on your criticism about Aelia Villa.
1)Aelia Villa BELONGS to the resindential zone of Kamilari village, like the most newly constructed houses of the area and it is LOCATED in the village Kamilari. It is 580 meters away from the main square of the village and the road that leads from Aelia to the square, (as you surely have noticed) is fully tree planted (beautiful tall plane trees and other more trees ) ideal route for walking both for kids and adults.
2)The house belongs to a new constructed building where there are other three more houses. Aelia Villa is fully autonomous from the rest of the building with its own entrance, its separate and autonomous veranda with a wonderful view in the plane of Messara. There is no contact with the rest of the building.
3)The architecture of the building is inspired from the old traditional cretan farm houses which were used during the middle of the 20th century and which used to be decorated with wood, local stone and byzantine tile, exactly like Aelia. The rails of the windows as well as a lot of the furniture inside the house, are handmade.
4)The “alcove” that you mention in your criticism is an open room with a double bed, two wooden painted by hand bedside tables and a double wooden antique refurnished closet of the 1960s.
5)The height of the house is 5,5 meters in its highest point just because it was designed in order to be manufactured the room that you call “wooden platform”. I would like to inform you that it is called «ονταδάκι» (ontadaki) and it used to be a bedroom in the old cretan traditional houses.
6)As far as the noise issue, I would like to mention you that we cannot do anything… all the kind of sounds that there are in the environment, inside or outside the house, either natural or technical sounds, this is called “life”... Otherwise we should live in a lonely place, completely alone with nothing and nobody next to us…
I would like to THANK YOU once again because you gave us the opportunity to inform you about the Cretan life, to explain you the traditional construction of the houses in Crete and especially in the area of Messara and to mention you that what we create in this house, we make it with full of love and full of personal time and money…
It is our duty to remember the tradition and the philosophy of the Cretan life and the Cretan architecture…
Also, the price considering the quality of the construction, the decoration of the house and the wonderful view of the plane of Messara, is far more than the best.
Kind regards, Ioanna
