Lovely host and home with so many things to see with very interesting collections and lots of history. Our room was perfect. Ted made us feel extremely welcomed, and I loved the area which was central to everything. First time my son stayed in an Airbnb or anything similar like a Bed & Breakfast. He enjoyed it as well. It was nice getting him out of his dorm and doing something different. We had a great and memorable weekend.

Rented by the room, there are four beautifully furnished bedrooms, three with queen-sized beds and one with a king, so up to eight guests can stay each night, with two persons per room, (maximum) individually priced per night per room. There is one, shared bathroom. This is my residence; the house is furnished with antiques and collections of silver, china, crystal, linens and art, typical of the Edwardian Era in which it was built. Afternoon Tea is served on occasion and will be provided to guests at an additional cost. Picnic Baskets, bicycles and kayaks are also available at an additional cost. It is my home and you my welcomed guest!

Rooms available monthly for Disaster Relief Workers!!!
The T House, built in 1914 is a lovely Greek Revival home that was inhabited by three lively sisters who purchased it in 1925, and lived in the house for 75 years. They left a legacy of fun times and hospitality and some delightful treasures in their stately home. It is filled with a century of happy memories and has been lovingly restored with vintage antiques, collections of china, crystal, collectibles and art. The Trube Castle, one of Galveston's grandest old relics looms next door and adds charm to this Victorian Era neighborhood.

With roots in Roscommon County, Ireland, my family immigrated to The States in 1910. Starting their new lives as domestic workers, hospitality and service are part of my family legacy. Years of restaurant and hotel work, while attending school was as enjoyable as it was a great way to learn the hospitality trade. Galveston, once a rich and busy port is now an Island in the Gulf of Mexico that supports a tourist economy. The mild, Gulf climate is conducive to year-round travel. Come get away from the cold!

Sitting on the front porch, one can watch passing horse-drawn carriages stopping to see The Trube Castle, the cannon balls embedded in the coping wall in front of this house and the beautiful tree sculpture entitled "Flight of Birds" directly across the street. Or to leave the hustle and bustle behind, one can retreat to the patio's quiet tropical shade where the splashing of the Pagoda fountain, the aroma of blossoming flowers and the hum of bees creates a peaceful place to relax. Architectural antiques create the patio walls and take one back to a bygone era.

Music has always been an important part of my life. The piano will greet you as you enter the house and the accordion and other percussion instruments are beneath the piano. When not playing an instrument, the house is usually filled with music from Pandora.

When you see the kitchen, you will know that the years at The Holiday Inn were not wasted. I love to cook. Trading recipes, experimenting with new dishes and learning about other cultures and ethnic foods often brings friends and relatives together. The Galveston Wine Club, a fine group of people usually gather here once or twice a year. Although I can't claim to know much about wine, I thoroughly enjoy their company and the splendid times we have together.

Travel, photography, language, outdoor activities and gardening are some of my favorite pastimes. My travels include 44 of the 50 states, trips "home" to Ireland, the British Isles, Europe with fond memories of Italy - South America, New Zealand, Australia, China, Canada, and Mexico. The Distrito Federal in Mexico City is one of the most beautiful places from climate and culture to the cuisine and friendly people. In recent visits I have climbed the Teotihuacan Pyramids, toured ancient ruins and sat idly in Starbucks reading and watching life go by in The Zona Rosa, Mexico City. Yo hablo Espanol.

The house contains extensive collections all of which contribute to the hospitality and ambiance of this old house. The former back porch now connects the kitchen and dining rooms and serves as a Butler's Pantry. The hidden back stairs allow for a servant to go from the kitchen to a bedroom sight unseen. However, life in The New Millennium demands such modifications as WiFi, cable and climate control!

With my family grown, extending an invitation to you to enjoy some time in a vintage home of a bygone era in the heart of The Historic District is my pleasure. It is safe and easy to walk the Historic District to enjoy the many carefully restored houses and parks. You are within walking distance of The Bishop's Palace, Sacred Heart Church, The Mosquito Cafe, The Original Mexican Restaurant and The Historic Strand.

My day usually begins with a jaunt to The Gulf to check out the weather and the sea. It's about ten blocks with a refreshing Gulf breeze. In the evenings I like to stroll along the wharves or visit the Mosquito Fleet of Shrimp Boats or take pictures of the playful pelicans - about six blocks from the house.

There are so many fun things to see and do in Galveston the list is too long to write. I will have plenty of brochures and literature for you.

The Irish say, "Cead Mile Failte" - (pronounced Caid-meel-ah-falcha) and meaning One Hundred, Thousand Welcomes. I look forward to your visit! Ted
