One of a small group of wooden lodges built in a quiet valley on the banks of the river Teign in Dartmoor National park.
Woodland walks from the doorstep. Wild birds and flowers, deer, fishing (day/week permit) starry skies. Small play area.
The lodge is warm and cosy and well equipped for up to 5 people maximum.
A fast road network only 10 mins away gives an easy journey and access to the beaches in South Devon, North Cornwall and the south west of England.
The only sound at Mole End is the river which runs behind the cabin. Fallow deer are spotted regularly from the windows, and kingfishers and dippers are often seen on the riverbank. With very little light pollution, the stars at night are fantastic.
Four steps lead up to a porched entrance which opens into a small hallway with coat hanging space. The living room is bright and spacious with French doors which open onto a large, south west facing, covered veranda where one can enjoy the sun, and barbecue. The living room with high pitched ceiling, has ample comfortable seating and a dining area. There is a coal effect electric heater for instant warmth and night storage heaters for background heat. The lodge heats up and retains it's warmth, so it is very cosy. There is a television, DVD player, CD player and MP3 docking station. Also a selection of books and games for anyone to enjoy.
The well equipped kitchen opens sociably off the living room, with electric cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, bread machine, kettle and toaster.
The double bedroom which overlooks the river is at the rear of the lodge. It has generous storage and a wall mounted heater. Please note that bed linen is not supplied but there are duvets and pillows on all the beds.
The bathroom also has river views , a bath with integral shower, wash basin, w.c. heated towel rail, immersion heater and washer/tumble dryer.
Upstairs from the gallery there is a high view of the forest, where deer can often be seen. Here there is a sofa bed which can be used if necessary. The twin room under the eaves looks out to the river. It has ample storage and an electric wall heater.
