The exterior features "yakisugi" (焼杉), an ancient wood preservation technique, and pine board-lined windows. The house's design draws from the Vancouver Specials typology prevalent in the area. Features a full kitchen inside, outhouse, outdoor shower, fire pit, covered porch & access to pebble beach trails, making this a magical retreat. Please note that while there is wi-fi at the cabin, there is no cell reception on the property, and many guests have mentioned that they’ve enjoyed the chance to unplug and connect with nature.

We have updated The Hideout and look forward to welcoming the world back at the end of summer 2025!! The Hideout grew from a vision we had when we moved to the Coast in 2020. With the desire to share our dream of living amongst the trees, tucked away from the world, The Hideout was created. Wrapped in hand milled cedar, fir and hemlock this space was designed to remind us to slow down, breathe deep and take it all in.

Galiano Cabin Hideaway

The cabin has a double bed plus a twin size guest bed on the main floor, very comfortable accommodation for two or three guests. It also has a self contained second bedroom and bath on the ground floor with its own private entrance that is ideal for sharing with one or two guests. There is a $125 per night fee for this additional bed and bath. Please contact the host if you wish to book this second bed and bath.
