Què farem?

We are going to explore the beauty of Chinatown by visiting key beautiful historical buildings. In this 3 hours walking tour, you would get to experience the stories of the early beginnings of Modern Singapore from the inside. Stories from the inside of Chinese temples, Old Shophouses, Muslim sites, Hindu temples, and many more.

The adventure:
Meeting up at Telok Ayer MRT station at 9am, we are going to explore the early shoreline of Singapore and the historical buildings along the way. Step inside the past and experience Telok Ayer Street from the eyes of the early Chinese and Indian immigrants to Singapore.

Climb up the highest existing natural peak of Chinatown and walk past the conserved shophouses in the area and learn about the unique important aspects of shophouses.

Step inside and listen to the stories of the oldest existing Indian Hindu Temple in Chinatown. Yes, the oldest exisiting Indian Hindu Temple in Singapore is in the heart of Chinatown, Singapore. How did that happen?

Do some souvenir shopping and the history behind some of the shophouses along Pagoda Street. Is there a pagoda in Chinatown? Learn the meaning behind the name of Pagoda Street.

Let's end the tour exploring the beautiful Buddha Tooth Relic Temple in Chinatown.

We would be visiting Thian Hock Keng Temple, one of the oldest Chinese Temple in Singapore. This is one of my favourite places in Singapore. Visit this Chinese Temple with a licensed Tourist Guide to better appreciate the symbolism behind the different aspects of the architecture and stories of the deities in the temple.

Then compare the stories and beauty of Sri Mariamman Temple, one of the oldest Hindu Temple in Singapore.
