Què farem?
In this 3-hour journey, you will learn about the major landmarks and events in the Communist history of Bucharest, the violent beginnings of the Communist regime, the nationalization and forced demolition of thousands of houses, the People's House (currently, the Palace of the Parliament), dictator Nicolae Ceausescu and his megalomania, and the bloody anti-Communist revolution of 1989.
The experience tells the story of the conflict between two worlds -- a brutalized Bucharest under the Communist regime, and the peaceful and prosperous Bucharest of the interwar period. You will learn about why Bucharest is such a striking mix of very different architectural styles, how each regime has left its mark on the city, how the city looked, and what its inhabitants went through in their daily lives under Communism. You will re-live the emotions of the anti-Communist Revolution and the fall of the Iron Curtain.
We'll explore:
> The magnificent Bragadiru Palace, and the abandoned Bragadiru Brewery
> Historic Cosbuc and Uranus neighborhoods
> Antim Monastery, the Nuns' Convent
> The Palace of the Parliament
> The former Boulevard of the Victory of Socialism
> Former headquarters of Securitate

We are a group of friends who are passionate about our city: Marius, Claudia, Andreea & Cristina. Together, we will help you get lost in Bucharest! We've started guiding in 2013, after having traveled extensively. We are doing this because we truly believe Bucharest is misunderstood and insufficiently promoted as a tourist destination, but also because we genuinely love learning new things about this city every day. Our favorite past-time is getting lost in the city, exploring streets, buildings, historic events and personal stories of its residents, and trying to make sense of everything for you, the traveler.

Cristina was an absolutely fantastic guide. Super friendly and had a lot of knowledge of this subject. A perfect tour. She seemed to know everything about the matter and she could bring it with such passion. I loved the tour that, if I'd come back to Bucharest. I'd want to do this tour again!!!
This tour is highly recommended to everybody.

My partner and I were shown around the city by Andreea along with approx. 6 others.
Andreea made everyone seem welcome and had a fantastic level of knowledge of both the city and life under communism.

Take this tour, if you want to learn about totalitarianism and a cult of personality.
The tour was thoughtfully planned, we walked through parts of Bucharest which still bear scars of Ceaușescu's policies. You will learn about the brutal conditions the population had to endure, particularly during the 1980s, the shortages, the power cuts, food rationing, fear, spying, oppression and regime total lack of humanity.
This tour will help you understand the country as it is today and it puts into the perspective how far has Romania progressed since the fall of communism.
