Què farem?

Two of the most prominent characteristics of Cornwall today is the breathtaking coastline and its food scene. Therefore it made absolute sense to us to bring the two together, taking you on an adventure of a few of our favourite spots on the west Cornwall coastline whilst treating you to fresh, sustainably-sourced local food.

You'll be greeted by one of our team (most likely me, Jim) meeting at a farm yard carpark. The adventure will then start! You'll hike around a few unreal places (we promise you will love them) with a different course of food at each spot. This will include a classic Cornish cream tea; jam first, cream on top, as well as a clifftop lunch and finally a beach-based stop for some final indulging and the opportunity for a dip, or just to relax.

There is approximately 5 miles of walking in total and 7 miles of driving (in convoy, and on the stunning coast road which is an experience on its own merit) between locations. If you do not have a car then it would be tricky to experience the day out in its entirety, so please send us a message if you are struggling with transport and we will see what we can do to help.

The spots we have chosen are less well-known and ones you will want to visit again and again.
Other things to note
Please let us know of dietary/medical needs 48 hours in advance. Some of the access to/from beaches or coves can be steep, so regrettably this experience is unsuitable for those with poor mobility. As the majority of the experience is on the coast path the only toilet facilities are at local pubs

I (Jim) have been living in West Cornwall for over 7 years and have spent most of my time on the south west coast path taking in the natural beauty and unique coastline.

Alongside this, I am passionate about local produce and actively seek a lifestyle that uses as much locally sourced food and drink as possible.

All food and drink on the experience is provided and will utilise the wonderful produce the county has to offer in a considerate and contemporary way, prepared by chefs.

I am also a school teacher in Falmouth but love to share my love for Cornwall (and its food!) during school holidays - hence starting this experience.

On aniràs?

West Cornwall is home to hundreds of beaches and coves. You'll be treated to visiting some of our favourite spots, which we know you'll love. We'll aim to give an element of surprise as to where we visit and dependent on what weather and tide variables impact locations. All locations are on the South West Coast Path and as such, the terrain is diverse and can be steep in places, so please ensure you’re comfortable walking on this type of terrain.

Such a unique way of experiencing Cornwall, we saw some of the most beautiful areas of this stretch of coastline, started off by a seal spotting session, had a delicious rustic lunch while taking in breathtaking views, settled down to a cream tea on one of the most spectacular coves and finished it all off with some of Cornwall's very best ice cream. It was an absolutely stellar end to my long weekend in Cornwall. Thank you Jim for that experience, really a highlight to the trip.

Hanging around the coast with Jim and Jess made for a nice day out. They shared with us a hidden spot for some wonderful seal-watching, and they gracefully lent us binoculars to fully enjoy the experience. Even though Jim had gotten recently hurt he bravely joined us on the trip, and was a kind and easy-going host.

If you do one thing in Cornwall, do this. Having been a few times I was a bit skeptical about an experience such as this - surely there’s not that much more to see? I couldn’t have been more wrong. The day started with us meeting at a point equidistant between Zennor and St. Ives, well off the beaten track , and after a short and beautiful walk we were sat on an astoundingly beautiful cliff watching seals play below - without another soul in sight! This really set the tone for the day, and things kept on getting better: Jim was brilliant, not only for his knowledge but also for his warmth and humour - most importantly he allowed the scenery and the locations to drive the day. We felt completely at ease, and to have such expertise and such fantastic food at such a good price was a real bargain. I’ll be booking again!

What an experience - I'm still smiling! The day started with hot drinks and homemade snacks with a sea view, giving us a chance to meet others on the trip and Jim himself. We were then led on a winding walk down to a little known point on the coast path. We were introduced to the local SEALS no less! I didn't know you could see them so well from land! Jim provided some great quality binoculars and had a great knowledge of the local wildlife, he even brought a bird-watching book so we could try and work out what we could see for ourselves! He thought of everything! After a short trot back up to the car, we moved onto a quaint local pub for a pint. We were lucky with the weather and could enjoy our beverages whilst sunbathing in the beer garden. Soon after, it was time for lunch, and we were led to an incredible clifftop spot for what can only be described as a luxury picnic. Look into the distance and you could almost see the Scillies (we saw the Scillonian, but couldn't quite make out the islands), look down and you could see rock climbers making the most out of the mild conditions, look left and right were amazing stacks of rock and cliffs. The food was fantastic too - local produce that had clearly taken hours to put together and enough for a second helping! Jim explained the history of mining in the area, with the submarine mines of Botallack, Levant and Geevor nearby that stretched for more than mile out to sea! With full bellies, we were soon off to our last stop at a secluded beach. There were probably 10 other people on the beach, we pretty much had it all to ourselves! Impressive rock formations surrounded us, whilst the waves gently crashed in from the Atlantic. What could make this day any better? Oh, how about a cream tea delivered over your shoulder by Jim himself (cream on top!). A fantastic end to a great day that I'll remember for a long time. I would imagine some looking at this would wonder "can't I just do this myself?" - the answer is of course "yes", but you will not have as good a day and you'll not find these secret spots! Jim's local knowledge, humour and hospitality are invaluable and I'd defy anyone to not go home still smiling!

I took my 2 cousins on this experience last Saturday and we had a wonderful day, we were greeted with flowers, snacks and a cup of tea where we talked about what we would be doing over the day. We walked some lovely coast paths, saw some breathtaking views, a family of seals and benefited from Jim’s local knowledge about the area. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it! We were kept topped up with water along the way and ended up on a beautiful almost empty beach (hard to find in Cornwall during the summer holiday) where we had a lovely cream tea and had the chance to relax in the sun and swim in the sea! Was a fab day out for locals or visitors and a lovely way to explore the Cornish coast with friends.
