Què farem?

The Hidden History of
Jewish Granada.
At a time to suit you, your native English speaking guide will collect you from your
hotel to begin a journey through 2,000 years of the lost, hidden and suppressed
history of the Sephardic Jews of Granada. Starting in the historic city center, make
your way past the Cathedral & the Chapel of the Catholic Monarchs, down to the
beautiful Plaza BibRambla to discover the fascinating & violent history of the the
heresies, conversions, trials and executions of the Sephardi under the Inquisition,
then on to the old Silk Market and the Alhondiga, discussing the role played by the
Jews in establishing and maintaining Al Andaluz as the major economic and financial
power of the age.
Passing the dramatic monument to Columbus and the Reconquista, we enter the old
Jewish Quarter of the Realejo, Granadas' oldest barrio, and center of European
Jewry for more than a millennia. Leading you through the narrow alleys of this
ancient neighbourhood, your guide will illuminate the literary, scientific, linguistic,
cultural and philosophical legacy of the Sephardi during the Golden age of Islam and
the Renaissance. Come see!

Our first air bnb experience was a success! Baruch lead a fantastic, enthusiast and in-depth tour of Jewish Granda. He had a wonderful way of weaving his knowledge of world history and three religions into the landscape, making for a comprehensive tour and giving an important historical overview of Granada (in general) and where its Jewish story is placed. In a city where one can barely find any evidence of Jewish presence (let alone the importance of some key figures in the Golden Age of the Jews in Andalusia ), his guidance was invaluable. Highly recommended. Thanks Baruch!

Baruch’s tour was great - loved his enthusiasm and ability to share his knowledge of the history of Granada (particularly Muslim & Christian rule) and contextualise the physical place and role of some key Jewish figures of the Golden Age. Highly recommended for anyone interested in the history of Granada and the special and important role of the Jews in Spain.
