Què farem?
Our activity is more of a LEARN & DINE experience. In our quaint and simple home, mum and I will host guests where they not only get to eat an elaborate, fresh& homecooked SouthIndian meal but also get to see how they are prepared and also involve in cooking an item or two. Once they arrive, we will serve them One welcome drink and 2 snacks (both veg or 1veg & 1 nonveg).
We will then proceed to making some of the items. Guests can watch the detailed procedure of making 1 Snack/Salad, 1maincourse( special rice or gravy) and 1 dessert. They can not only watch but also involve themselves in the process of preparation,like the mis-en-place of the dish, etc which not only helps them get familiar with an Indian kitchen, but also native kitchen equipments, ingredients like vegs, spices, grains, flour, etc.
Also, in an ALL-HANDS-IN activity, guests can individually choose to prepare one type of Indian bread like Puri, Akki Rotti (Rice), Ragi Rotti(Millet) or Chapatis, where they can do the prep, flattening them out and deep/shallow/pan fry them. They can also learn the art of making an southindian Dosa (battered thin crispy crepe). We finish with a full 6 course meal served by us!

It is best if they let us know about their dietary restrictions and preferences over vegetarian or non vegetarian food.

Mum is a typical Indian homemaker and an expert in authentic South Indian cuisine including a variety of Vegetarian & Non-Vegetarian dishes and has an experience of over 25years. Shobbhas provided experience was truly great - the best I gad in Bengaluru. She was both professional (having been studied catering in bachelor programme) and nice and caring. What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon in Bengaluru. I arrived at 05:00 am from Europe, for a week of work in India. I overslept so turned up late but Shobha and her mother were very easy-going and flexible about it.
They explained the different ingredients and dishes, of which some we prepared together and the others already made by them prior to my arrival.
Everything was delicious and Shobha , with her mother, really gave me insight into South Indian cuisine and how people eat and cook every day. Just super.

This was in two words: absolutely fantastic! Shobha was clear and prompt in her communication with me. She and her family welcomed me to her home and she started by explaining patiently the basics of South Indian cooking. It was a Hindu festival day so she also introduced me to the origins and food of this special occasion. I had a wonderful time listening to stories while we prepared some dishes together with her mum. The meal was, of course, easily one of the best I ever had in India. I loved especially the coconut chutney and vadas, and the simple sambar with rice. The pace was this experience just right, while her energy and warmth made this so special. By the end of the day I emerged with a deeper appreciation and understanding of South Indian food and culture. I can only highly recommend this to anyone visiting Bangalore. Thank you Shobha, your mum and your dad for this amazing experience.
