Hello, this is Shishino (Call me Mike).
I am a potter who usually work as a salary employee in the office from Monday to Friday. (There are a lot of mistakes).
Besides pottery, I’m also interested in making rice and Japanese traditional food served during New Years holiday.
Above all, I am focusing on environmentally friendly efforts (sustainability), and it is very fun to talk with people who are interested in such things as soil, food and the environment.
The rice is grown completely using pesticide-free and fertilizer-free natural farming methods, and the rice straw is baked to make rice ash.
Colorful ceramic glazes are popular, but they generally contain heavy metals and (thus we cannot say it is) harmless to the body.
So I use rice straw obtained from rice farming by natural farming.
